- "Very cute and historic hotel. We wanted to stay in a hotel that felt more authentic to South Dakota and this hotel was exactly that. The hotel is also in the historic district of Rapid City- by far the most beautiful area. You can walk around and check out 40+ statues of various presidents around the city. There was also a skating rink very close to us in Main Street Square. Apparently the hotel is under construction- I could not tell at all (we were on the 9th floor). Although we were under the sky bar, we had minimal noise from there (perhaps because it was December and less tourists are around). Our largest noise was the elevator (we stayed right across from it) but thankfully the hotel is not in it's busiest season- it would have been an issue if more people were using it. There is free parking included at the top level of a parking garage which was fine for me, but may be difficult for older or injured/disabled individuals as you have to walk up several flights of stairs to and from your car so you'd have to opt for a valet. Which by the way, the valet staff was very courteous- always opening the doors for us and wishing us a great day. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful (helped us replace a lost key, gave us recommendations for breakfast, etc.) and check-in and check-out was very quick."

- "The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are fantastic! Solid doors, soundproof rooms and hallways; luxury and comfort throughout this entire property! The staff was nice, and the casino and bars were a lot of fun. The pool and hot tub area that they share with the Springhill Inn was absolutely amazing and so much fun! The only complaint I have is that they charged my travel partner's credit card twice for the food we charged to the room, and then they had no ability to "investigate" the charges further so he had to dispute it with his bank. That is not very good customer service."

Rapid City has plenty of restaurants, shopping malls, lots of green spaces and the Black Hills.

If you've never seen the Black Hills, you'll understand why the Lakota Nation people consider the Black Hills sacred.

You'll fall in love with the Black Hills and its people like we did.

There is no public transit system to speak of like the big cities.

The best thing is have your own car but if you don't, there are plenty of car rentals (in the airport and in Rapid City) as well as taxi cabs, Lyft and Uber.

There's even a limo service available to you if you want.

Folks, these are very nice rooms. You won't find another room like this anywhere in the area and certainly not in a hotel.

Upon arriving, you will park your vehicle in one of the parking spaces that has been reserved for you right by your entrance. If you have a second vehicle or a truck, there is plenty of secure parking for you.

You would then pick up the key card that will give you access through the doors to your private room. As this is a private room, you will have a full sized bathroom all to yourself. You will have full access to all amenities in the room.

You even have access to the snacks and the stocked dorm refrigerator. I would add that while coffee is free, the snacks and beer aren't. After all, would you want me to come in your house, eat all your food and drink all your beer without replacing it?

You will be right in the middle of all the action and adventure that the Black Hills have to offer. Lead’s Town Hall building was constructed in 1912 and served this function through 1938. This ornate building originally housed many town functions, including the mayor’s and treasurer’s offices, the court room, judge’s chambers, and the jail. The gallows were located directly behind the building. The Homestake Mining Company housed their general offices here for nearly 50 years, and the building now is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Summer fun at it's finest! The Lodge at Angostura is located just a few miles from Angostura Reservoir, which is home to the best boating and lake fun in the Southern Hills.
