- "We can't give this place or the hosts enough stars! I wish there were an option for a 10 star review and even that seems to minimal. The listing and photos are exact. Zach and Jackie send you videos of the whole check in process on top of the email with instructions. By far the easiest check in and check out due to their thoroughness. We are a family that likes to cook. The kitchen had everything we needed plus more. There were even glass storage containers for leftovers. The arcade games are a huge plus!! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms very spacious. There were so many little touches that some may feel aren't much, but are when you realize you need them. For example: when there are no hangers in the closets. This unit has huge closets and lots of hangers so we did not have to go buy any or live out of our luggage. They provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for those families that may forget to pack those items. We love that there was a washer and dryer for clothes and of course they provided laundry pods and dryer sheets. Again, the little things that truly add up and are a step above! The location is walking distance to all of the bars, restaurants, shops, and the downtown "mall". We could write a book of how wonderful our stay was. Even though we would like to keep this little gem a secret so it is always available for when we need it, we urge everyone to experience it for themselves. - "We were looking for a house on a lake for a few days of absolute peace and quiet. This was the perfect choice. The house was lovely, with a perfect lakefront view. And most of the time, there was hardly any activity on the lake. On Saturday, the lake got really lively and we enjoyed watching families waterskiing, jet skiing, and tubing, or just cruising around the lake in pontoon boats. Then, about dinnertime, everyone left the lake quiet again. It would be nice if the house had more than one bathroom, but we knew that was the case before we rented it."

Pine Lake has a public boat launch, and our dock can accommodate boats under 30 feet in length. The 660-acre lake offers excellent fishing opportunities, including panfish, bass, and northern pike.

If you rearrange furniture during your stay, kindly return it to its original position before checkout.

For extra accommodation (if you have a seventh person), the living room chair transforms into a small twin-size bed.

The dock is typically removed in October and reinstalled in late April. If you are staying close to those timeframes, please confirm whether the dock will be available during your stay.

While we welcome dogs, please keep them outside the main house (in the breezeway or garage) due to severe allergies. If they are hypo-allergenic, and dry then they can be in the house but keep them off the furniture. Nearby kennels are available, and kindly clean up after your pet.

For security, we have cameras at the front entryway and inside the two-car garage (excluded from the rental).

Smoking or vaping indoors is prohibited.

We leave some campfire wood there, but if you need more it is available to purchase nearby around Pine.

Lawn care occurs weekly, typically on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

In winter, snow removal occurs throughout the night or day whenever a few inches of snow accumulate.

Please be aware that neighbors may perform yard care at various times, including mowing, trimming, and leaf blowing.

Our water has slightly elevated levels of iron, which may cause brown spots on some laundry. We use a water softener and sediment filter which help this but do not eliminate it entirely.

Periodic lake weed treatments occur during the summer. If you see a yellow notice on the property, please refrain from swimming or bathing near the shoreline for the rest of the day. You can still enjoy tubing or skiing offshore. This information is provided by Southern Michigan Lakes Manager Andy Tomasewski (PLMCorp.Net).

Garbage is picked up Tuesday morning (one day later on Holidays), so please have the bin at the top of the driveway on Monday night.

This cozy but spacious apartment is the upstairs unit of a renovated barn built in the early 1900s. Recently refurbished, it retains charming features of the original barn. There is a newly redone bathroom, large couch, full kitchen, and TV.
This apartment is located in the ground floor of a renovated barn, originally built in 1900. The bathroom was renovated in 2023, to make a beautiful modern space with shower and tub, and new flooring was installed in the main living space this past year as well.

The open kitchen boasts a 4-burner electric stove and oven, microwave, full sized fridge, coffee maker, and all the basic cooking implements necessary.

The bedroom has a king-size bed, a large dresser, and a large closet.

If there are more than 2 guests and one would like to sleep on the couch, bedding will be provided.

The sauna is custom-built, cedar-lined, wood-fired, and only 4 years old. It is located right outside the front door on the patio. Wood and fire-starting supplies are provided, and you will have unlimited use during your stay.

All living spaces, sauna, and deck are private. In the shared backyard there is a garden, chicken coop with roosters, and a nice lawn area.
Other things to note:
If you want to sauna we will give you a walkthrough of the rules and how to use it, and we will get it started the first couple of times to make sure that you know how to use it.

Please note that the sauna takes about 90 min to reach temp, and while we are happy to have it ready for you on arrival if our schedule permits (it usually does), we do require advance notice.

I welcome families with small children however I do not “child-proof” the house. I offer plug covers, door knob covers and cabinet locks that you are welcome to use. Any decor or toys that are not age appropriate should be moved by the guest to a closet or upper shelf. There are no railings or fences outside around the deck or the seawall.

Owners live nearby and are available by text or by phone but will leave you to your privacy. We are in and out of the building on a daily basis doing turnovers and updating the property, but will stay out of your way and will be as unobtursive as possible. Enjoy two windows from this bedroom—one overlooking a sloping backyard and the other overlooking a spectacular dogwood tree on the side Of the house. Hardwood floors, a desk, dresser and ample closet await you in addition to a firm lumber supporting mattress. While others live in the house along with a friendly golden/Sheltie dog, we do our best to respect your privacy and generally keep quiet. As this room is the farthest from the entrances of the house it is the quietest room.

Guests will have access the the full house including a washer/dryer in the basement. Note that one bathroom is being remodeled and therefore, for the time being, the shower in the basement is the only shower in the house. This is the perfect time to rent a nice space for a reasonable price while the bathroom remodeling is being completed. We will provide you with towels and bathroom amenities you may have forgotten.

You will be literally one block from WMU’s campus in a beautiful and quiet residential neighborhood where we have resided for over 10 years. You will be one block from a bus route stop that’s quite reliable. Several restaurants are also within walking distance. Ask us about our favorites :-)

Your room is the middle room of three on the top floor. It has two doors, two closets, two lamps and two windows. It has a table, easy chair, night table and dresser.

December 2020: your room now has locking doors now as part of our effort to keep upgrading.

Your room is steps away from a half-bath, overlooks a rolling hills backyard.

Spring 2021: Please note that we are excited about a decision to embark on a complete makeover to our main bathroom yet ask that you excuse the temporary inconvenience. During this time we have created a fully functional, tiled shower in our laundry room (also with locks as of Spring 2021) with fantastic water pressure. Yes, the cinder blocks that form the shower surround may look a little like funky army barracks, painted and waterproofed. We keep it clean, simple, bright and functional and you can still run a load of laundry while you shower without affecting the water pressure!! How’s that for hydraulic engineering :-)

All guests have access to the whole house, back yard, laundry room/basement, and parking in driveway. It's wooden floors throughout the whole house, except for the kitchen. All rooms are on the second level. There are 3 cats that are on the property, so for those that are allergic, I apologize. I keep the house very tidy, so that does help with the fur and dander.
