Internationally known for its geological features, this is a spiritual and magical place set on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean - definitely worth a visit FOR HILL WALKING AND HIKING.
AILLWEE CAVES
While in the area, you can visit the Aillwee caves with its famous interpretive centre. While there you can tour the caves, discovered in the 1950's. Gives a fascinating insight into geology of the area and is a fun, exciting, and an educational trip for children.
ARAN ISLANDS
A trip to Aran Islands can be easily fitted into your schedule while staying at the house. A direct ferry can be taken from Doolin, 30 mins from the house. The islands are a unique view of Irish culture and heritage where you can experience traditional rural ways of Irish life, crafts, language (gaelic), music song and dance, as well as primitive stone forts, dolmens, and old Christian churches.
BUNRATTY CASTLE & FOLK PARK
Burratty Castle and Folk Park is a great day out for all the family and if you decide to take in the Medieval Banquet hosted in the great Hall at the Castle each evening, complete with harpists and jesters. The Great Hall has a very fine collection of medieval artifacts, paintings, tapestries, and furniture dating back to 14th Century. The Folk Park adjacent to the Castle is a very fun and informative day out for all the family. It is wonderful showcase of rural life in days gone by Ireland where you can stroll down an authentic village.at Main St and visit places such as the post office, school house, farmer's cottage; meet the costume characters, taste some authentic Irish cooking.
IRISH MUSIC
Drop into any of the pubs on Main St Lahinch or Miltown Malbay on a summer's evening and you are bound to find yourself in the middle of an Irish music session. You will find your own favourites but here are some good ones in Lahinch! Corner Stone, Kenny', O'Brien's Kitchen. DOOLIN which is 15kms away has traditional music playing almost day and night and one of that most popular traditional music places in Ireland.

You even have Award Winning Barrtra Seafood Restaurant 200 yards from the house where you can dine and admire the wonderful sunsets and take the 3 minute stroll back to the house. Black Oak Restaurant is 10 minutes drive towards Milltown Malbay serves Irish traditional/informal cuisine. Lahinch offers Atlantic Hotel, Indian and Tandoori Restaurant and great pubs for wonderful food and Irish music. O'Looney's fine dining on the promenade in Lahinch overlooking the sea; O'Brien's pub on Main Street, The Copperstone; and Vaughan's Pub in Liscannor only 10 minutes away is one of the best seafood restaurants on the west coast.

Only suggestion would be to stock the kitchen with an extra trash bag or two and a few washing machine and dishwasher tabs for those staying a few nights. This stunning property was finished in 2019 with spectacular ocean views.
Only a short walk to Moy beach and Lahinch beach, as well as all Lahinch has to offer.
Each one of the three bedroom are ensuite, 2 with king size beds, and 1 super king (European and USA measurements are different - EU beds tend to be a bit smaller).
There is a spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining area - great for family get togethers!
There are a lot of steps in this property - not suitable for wheelchair users or the elderly.

Egan's Cottage is 5km from Lahinch (About 7 min drive)
A beautiful original country cottage that seeps history set in the country side yet only two miles from a busy little seaside town. The bedroom section is newly built and has the feel of a very modern space. The living area is open plan and spacious and ideal for spending time with friends in. There is a separate area for game playing or a quiet space to relax. The cottage has ample parking and a garden outside to relax in. The cottage is situation in such an ideal, quiet place with cows and horses in the fields around you – yes it is no trouble to pop to the shop if you have forgotten something.
It has been renovated with love and is a very special unique experience. It is a perfect mix of modern and the old days. It is in the heart of the countryside but also near a town. It has everything anyone would ever need.
Lahinch is a great town with many many pubs and restaurants and cafes and unique places. It also has a world wide reputation for surfing and a few lessons are highly recommended. It also boasts a world renowned golf course and the beach stretches it’s golden sand out in front of you for miles. The beach is lovely and there is a great playground for children on the beach. You are within easy distance of so many places to visit and see and still only half an hour from the airport.
You really need a car to stay in the cottage unless you are a very keen walker. However, there are many walks around the countryside and bike rides which are marked up too. There are tours in Lahinch which are easily accessible.
There is oil fired central heating and a wood burner in the kitchen. The house is very well insulated and very warm.
There are two flights of stairs in the house with some 8 steps to move from one level to another. You can avoid climbing the stairs (if you sleep on the ground floor) but you will not be able to avoid the 8 steps, (unless you go outside the house and round to the back) though they do have a handrail.
