Families welcome in our end of terrace house with good sized rooms and small garden with easy access to Range walks and the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic coast. The house is approximately 1km from Lulworth Cove in the village of West Lulworth, with Corfe Castle and Swanage to the east and Weymouth to the west. Well located for day trips to many local attractions including Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island.

Externally, the garden is situated on a steep gradient that makes the most of the surrounding countryside views, with a decked patio ideal for relaxing after a busy day exploring.

Situated in the heart of the village, the property is within a short walk of the village stores and a couple of pubs, including a 16th-century thatched tavern reputed to be one of the oldest public houses in Dorset.

Lulworth Cove is only half a mile from Durdle Door, an iconic natural Limestone Arch which has featured in several music videos, television productions and movies such as Nanny McPhee. Please note : the Lulworth Ranges are a six mile stretch of coastline requisitioned by the MOD during WWII which extends from Lulworth Cove to Kimmeridge Bay. The ranges are open to the public during school holidays and almost all weekends. Intermittent firing from the ranges can be heard throughout the entire Lulworth to Kimmeridge area during the week and in school term time although it is perfectly safe and none of our local walks are affected by closures. Occasional night time firing does occur when the ranges are closed to the public.

This pretty south-facing country house is full of light, charm and comfort. There are 4 double bedrooms and a 5th with 2 single beds (ideal for children). There are 3 bathrooms including one with a walk in shower.

Situated fifteen minutes walk from the sea at Lulworth cove on the unspoiled Purbeck coast the Lynches is situated on a hillside with wide south facing views to the sea and surrounded by fields. Built of Purbeck stone around the beginning of the last century it is set in two acres of secluded terraced lawns and gardens including a large area ideal for children's games.

The very fully equipped kitchen opens onto a bright glass conservatory. There is an Aga cooker as well as an extra oven and hob. There is a pretty spacious dining room with a large round 18th. century dining table and sideboard. The large living room has an open fire, a piano and french doors to the terrace.

There is a huge marble table with seating for summer eating on the south facing terrace and there is a sun umbrella and barbecue.

The Lulworth area is notable for its wonderful walks and and spectacular 'Jurassic' coastline including Durdle Door and Kimmeridge bay where there is the recently opened Etches fossil museum.

The welcome hamper of goods was fantastic, especially with everything sourced from the local area. There really could not be anything to complain about, the standard of accommodation here is exceptional. The location is great, we basically parked the car up and hardly used it; just a short walk down to the amenities of Lulworth Cove, and very close to the coastal path for great hikes in either direction. Just be aware that there are no local supermarkets close by - the Londis round the corner appeared to be closed down, although with the provision of the hamper you shouldn't need much for a good couple of days."

This large detached property, sits in its own grounds and doesn’t have neighbours, giving you total privacy and un paralleled views in Lulworth, and other houses can’t boast they used to be the local police station.

West Lulworth is a stone’s throw from Lulworth Cove and the famous Durdle Door sea arch, situated on the Jurassic coast with unfettered access to the local costal paths.

As this is the first house as you enter the village it sits high above any other properties, with amazing views and hardly a neighbour in sight.

A perfect base for families looking to explore while still being able to enjoy the outdoors through the large garden while at the property. With Lulworth Cove offering Paddle boarding, Kayaks, Rib rides you don’t have to go far to take full advantage of the sea.

The property has just been totally decorated throughout (July 2022) with new appliances, mattresses, sofas, giving it a totally fresh feel.

There is extensive parking, easily accommodating four cars and large gardens to the side and rear giving plenty of outdoor entertaining space with lots of room for children to run around.

You will be greeted by gates opening onto the large double aspect drive, stairs and ramps allow access to the raised front door, and a bench allows you to savour the spectacular views.

The front door opens onto a reception room, with a church pew for removing those muddy boots, and plenty of hooks and storage.

From the reception room you enter a kitchen, which is large and has everything you may need if staying in to cook. There is a hob including dual ovens, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster & kettle and all the utensils and kitchenware you might need.

There are two exits from the kitchen, the first leading to a living room with amazing views over Bindon Hills opposite, the room is furnished with multiple sofas and includes a wood burner. A smart television, which has apps for the various streaming services and DVD player should hopefully keep you entertained in the evenings.

The second exit leads into a large dining room which shares the same amazing views over Bindon and the village, there is plenty of space for a dining table that can easily seat 8, along with a sofa for chilling. Patio doors open out to the large garden and patio area, the room makes the transition between inside and outside very easy.

There is also a downstairs wet room with WC, walk in shower and sink off the dining room.

Venturing upstairs you will find the three bedrooms along with a family bathroom.

The master bedroom overlooks the front drive, and has beautiful views over the hills opposite, it provides built in wardrobes, a chest of draws and a comfy to chair to make getting changed a joy. This room has a king size bed fitted with a brand new mattress.

The next bedroom again overlooks the hills opposite, this time with a double bed, again with brand new mattress. Built in wardrobes and a chest of draws again give you all the storage you may need.

The last bedroom overlooks the rear of the property with views of the hill beyond, this time a twin room with two single beds again with brand new mattresses.

Upstairs there is also a family bathroom with bath, in bath shower, basin and WC.

All rooms are carpeted and feature black out blinds or curtains, a hairdryer is provided and all rooms have ample storage for your clothes.

All bed Linens are hotel quality from “Mitre” and both bath and hand towels are provided. Mattresses are award winning models from the PremierInn range.

A washing machine can also be found under the stairs in the hall should you need to refresh some of your clothes during your stay.

For families we also provide a travel cot, including mattress and mattress sheets, highchair, baby bath and potty.

It is very spacious and comfortable with plenty of outdoor space for kids to run around. Practically everything is provided (BBQ charcoal, kitchen roll, coffee pods etc) and the local Londis is about 10 minutes' walk away. The reason I only gave 4 stars for accuracy of description is that I think the website undersells it. It is ideally situated for trips out to places such as Lulworth Castle (well worth a visit, particularly for children) Durdle Door, Dorchester museum and many other places we didn't have time for!"

The Lindens is a beautifully renovated 18th century manor house and lies within the peaceful and pretty village of East Lulworth, a stone’s throw from the majestic Lulworth Castle, the idyllic Lulworth Cove and iconic rock arch of Durdle Door.
The Lindens sleeps 16 (+2), and with gracious high ceilings, open fires and wooden flooring, it’s one of Dorset’s hidden treasures. The gated property is only accessible by a private road and situated in an acre of land with the landscape acting as a natural screen; keeping the house secret from the rest of the cove without disturbing the incredible views. The Rafters has been designed as a truly secluded refuge with a wide range of activities within the house to keep everyone entertained even on the rainiest of days.

The Home

The Rafters has recently been fully rebuilt to the highest standard; with no expense spared to create this special home. The design offers a mix of traditional and modern - a coastal, cosy retreat that is consistent with the look and style of the area but equipped with all modern amenities and a luxury finish. All 10 en-suite bedrooms have superking beds and built-in wardrobes. Every spacious ensuite bathroom features a walk-in wet area with a powerful rain showerhead. Two of the ensuite bathrooms include freestanding bathtubs. The entire house and detached garage boast underfloor heating; with each bedroom and bathroom having individual temperature controls to suit all preferences.

The communal areas are designed to easily accommodate over 20 guests. The entire ground floor is open plan, making the most of the beautiful views. If choosing to remain indoors for the day, there are a variety of rooms to enjoy. The top floor includes a library, sitting area with mini bar and a cosy cinema room with Blu-ray, Apple TV and Amazon TV. The Games room in the “garage” boasts a ping-pong table, board games, large TV, music speakers all in an area large enough to host a yoga class. The lower ground floor offers a large, heated indoor saline pool with a paddling area for the young ones if the adults just want to watch and relax. The ground floor has a Snug, Lounge, Fireplace and Copper topped bar all with incredible views of the coast. Meals can be prepared in the spacious chef-style kitchen, which is equipped with everything needed to create a gourmet meal for 20 that can further be enjoyed in the stylish dining area. Outside there are two large terraces overlooking the lovely landscape, sea and cove and an acre of natural gardens.

The Neighbourhood

Lulworth Cove, a unique scallop shaped cove on the Jurassic Coast, was formed around 10,000 years ago by the powerful sea. The surrounding land is rich with fossils, natural beauty and even has its own species of butterflies called the “Lulworth Skipper”. The Jurassic Coast runs from Orcombe Point in Exmouth to Old Harry Rocks in Swanage and was granted World Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 2001. The area continues to be extremely popular for hikers, fossil hunters, mountain bikers, swimmers, boaters and surfers. The walk down to the cove is filled with all sorts of local merchants: ice cream shops, pubs, bakeries and a very well known fishmonger. As busy and popular as the cove gets, the idyllic landscape remains an unscathed paradise and a hidden gem. The dramatic coastline continues throughout the surrounding areas-places like Durdle Door, Kimmeridge, Stair Hole and Hambury Tout are just a few of the landmarks within walking distance along the south coast path of the Jurassic Coast.

West Lulworth, just a 5 minute walk from the house, is a picturesque Dorset fishing village with thatched cottages dating back over 400 years – interestingly it used to be a smugglers haunt, being only minutes away from the coastline. Full of history and beauty, it is a great village to visit and have a walk around.

The village of East Lulworth, only a short 7-minute drive from the house, is also a very quaint village with some of the most charming cottages in the county. East Lulworth is home to the famous Lulworth Castle and Park. There is so much to explore with the beautiful grounds and woodland walks, tearooms and entrance to the partly restored castle.

Wareham and Wool are the local “bustling” towns with the amenities if you need food markets, nice restaurants, etc. and both just a short drive away. If you are happy to just relax in the house, you can just as easily order Waitrose or Ocado to be delivered to your door.

You will be welcomed into the house by our house manager and given full access to the house and the gates. You will be given a few sets of keys and a welcome tour and then given privacy.

This charming little retreat is nestled on the edge of West Lulworth with quick and easy access to the South-West Coast Path. Completely refurbished in 2023, the cozy cottage has a well-equipped modern kitchen with a brand-new electric oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, wine-cooler and washer/dryer. The open-plan living and dining area has wooden floors, a comfortable seating space with sofa, armchairs and a smart TV, a dining table and chairs and a delightful log burner for colder evenings.

The private front and rear gardens are perfect for soaking up the summer sun or enjoying a barbecue. The front garden is an enclosed lawned area, whilst the rear garden features a raised wooden deck up 4 steps. There is a charcoal barbeque and garden table and chairs.

The space
The house is surrounded by large private enclosed gardens and views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Inside there is a spacious living room with wood burning stove and dining room downstairs, the dining room joins to a fully-equipped kitchen. Upstairs there are three recently refurbished beautiful bedrooms: one with a king size bed, one double and one with bunk beds. The first floor also has a bathroom with bath with mounted shower and a separate toilet.

Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Oswold bay beach are all between 10-15 minutes walk away and there are scenic countryside walks in every direction. Nearby there are wonderful local villages, pubs, yet more beaches, Lodmoor country park perfect for children, castles, the Tank museum, the Blue Lagoon and plenty more!

One of the fields behind the house has cows who may visit and peer over the fence to say hello once in a while! There is an abundance of wildlife and season depending apples, blackberries and herbs to pick.
