This is a spacious South facing Grade II listed property located close to Longleat and walking distance to supermarkets, town centre and the national award winning Warminster Town Park. This house is perfect for family getaways, children enjoy toys and play areas in large spacious rooms. Safety features are also available such as stair gates, bed guards and high chairs.
The property is blue plaque, steeped in history and was originally designed by the prestigious architect Sampson Kempthorne.

Located on the same site as the owners and another holiday home. Includes small patio area and large garden shared with owners. The Oaks is a lovely base to discover Longleat, Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Stourhead.
The owners have dogs on the property which are very well trained.

Mere Methodist Church is an impressive 4 double bedroom, 4 bathroom family residence. Converted to a residential home in 2019, it offers all the modern facilities you'd expect whilst retaining its historic charm and feel. Perfect for one larger family or two families sharing.

Downstairs features a front entrance hall leading into a very large, spacious lounge with 6.5m high ceilings. A contemporary gas fire and aquarium make the large space feel calm and comfortable and the original pulpit keeps you in mind of the buildings heritage (although we do use it as a bar!). The lounge features two, four seater leather sofas and a matching armchair so there's plenty of seating for everyone. A 52 inch smart TV with Freesat and DVD player and music system provide plenty of entertainment. There is a selection of DVD's and books to choose from in case you need some inspiration. The lounge is a great entertaining space.

From the lounge you walk into the spacious kitchen diner. The kitchen enjoys a large central island and is of a modern grey gloss and copper design. 2 ovens, 2 microwaves, dishwasher and American style fridge/freezer with mains connected water and ice machine ensure you'll have everything you need for a relaxing stay. The dining area has a large oak table with 8 chairs but the table can seat 10 comfortably. The room is a flexible space, perfect for entertaining friends or having a quiet family meal. It is usually where everyone congregates for a glass of wine in the evening.

From the kitchen you access the side entrance hall from which there is a shower room and utility room containing washing machine, tumble dryer and extra fridge freezer.

Exiting the house via the side entrance you access the rear garden with large decked area containing 4 loungers and 2 chairs. On the decking is a 5 person hot tub. Some of the images showing the garden still show the old 14ft Hydropool but this is no longer there and has been replaced by the hot tub. There is also a ping pong table. The patio area contains a large table with umbrella which seats 8 people.

Back inside the house, from the lounge there is an impressive glass and oak staircase leading to the first floor where there are 2 large double bedrooms (one with a king-size bed and the other with a double bed). The king-size bedroom has an ensuite shower room. Next to these 2 bedrooms is a large family bathroom with separate shower and large bath.

Moving along the mezzanine walkway looking down into the lounge you reach the gallery room (which used to house pews for the congregation sitting upstairs) which features a glass wall looking down into the lounge. This room contains a 60inch smart TV offering Freeview, Netflix, Amazon Prime TV and all the usual catch up stations (paid channels like Netflix and Amazon Prime TV are not included but can be accessed using your own log in details if required). A selection of board games is available in case it pours down and everyone is desperate to play Monopoly or Risk.

From outside the Gallery Room you access a second staircase to take you up to the master suite and 4th bedroom. This second staircase also provides secondary access back down to the front entrance hall.

The master suite contains a king-size bed, fitted wardrobes along an entrance hallway and an ensuite shower room. There is a TV with DVD player.

The final room is the 4th bedroom featuring a double bed, wardrobe and drawers.

Mere is a lovely little town (more like a village in feel) which has 3 pubs in walking distance of the property, Angel Corner Tea Room, small Co-Op, Post Office, Pharmacy, Mere Bake & Grill and The Sprout and Flower which sells fruit, veg, bread, milk and flowers. It also sells coffee, teas and cake. Within walking distance are loads of lovely walks in the countryside. Mere is situated only a few minutes drive from Stourhead National Trust House and Gardens, 40 minutes from the historic city of Salisbury with its stunning cathedral, 40 mins from Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, 50 mins from the South coast including Poole, Bournemouth and Corfe Castle, 40 mins from Clarks Village Shopping Area, 45 mins to Monkey World and the Tank Museum, 20 mins to the Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum.

Mere Methodist Church would be an ideal place to use as a base for exploring Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset. Great for one or two families sharing. There are 2 small rooms on the ground floor (a study and storage room) and one room up in the attic (storage) which will be locked. This will not affect your stay as there is plenty of space in this large building.

The cleaning fee covers cleaning and preparation of the property for your stay as well as a set of fresh linen and towelling provided for each guest. Any sort of parties, gatherings or events are strictly not permitted, the property is for accommodation purposes only for the guests staying. If it's been reported that there are any parties or events or noise disturbance then you may be required to leave the property immediately without the remaining nights being refunded. There is a charge of £500 if any evidence of a party, gathering or event at the property have been found exclusive of any charges relating to damages or additional cleaning costs to get the property in good order again. Our home is situated in the small market town of Warminster, just half an hour from sights such as the cities of Bath and Salisbury and historic Stonehenge. Longleat House and Safari Park is less than 10 minutes drive away.

You will have your own bedroom and en suite bathroom. You are welcome in all communal areas of our home and may use our kitchen should you want to prepare your own food.

The space
This cabin style tiny home has been purpose built as a cosy, yet light and airy retreat. Recently completed, the space offers guests all of the essential amenities in a location perfectly placed to explore the area.

There’s designated parking for one car next to the cabin, leading through the gate to the private, fully enclosed, garden and property entrance. Outside there is a small landscaped seating area complete with bistro dining set to enjoy the peaceful setting beneath the cherry tree.

The Kitchenette is equipped with fridge/freezer, oven, hob, toaster, kettle, microwave, sink, plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs, and glasses, as well as assorted cooking utensils, pots and pans.
Salt, pepper, sugar, oil, tea, coffee and washing up liquid are also provided.
The dining/living area includes a fold down table, sofa and TV.

Through to the cosy bedroom is a comfortable double bed with bedside tables and lamps. The bedroom also includes a mirror and storage boxes beneath the bed for clothes. There is a blackout blind on the window as well as the slatted blind for day use.

The en suite bathroom comes complete with enclosed shower, bathroom cabinet, heated towel rail, basin and toilet. A set of towels per guest is provided as well as a bath mat.

The space
Our home is a lovely old two-storey stone cottage dating from the 19th century which gives it character and charm. It has been expanded and the bathrooms updated for modern comfort. A sunny, spacious garden stretches out to the side of the building.

Your private guest rooms are on the ground and first floors. You'll share the kitchen, hallways and garden with us. Our private rooms are on the first floor.

About your rooms...

The main guest bedroom on the first floor is light and airy. It has an antique decor including a brass bed with a comfortable double-sized mattress. You have a private detached bathroom where you can enjoy a shower or bath just a few steps away down the hall.

One of the sitting rooms downstairs is used as a second bedroom for extra guests or family members. It has a small double-sized sofa bed (4 feet across) with an additional thick memory foam mattress added on top for greater comfort. Guests in this room have a small private bathroom with shower directly off the kitchen.

Please note:

The two bedrooms are on different floors which may or may not suit families with small children. Also, the bed in the second bedroom is a "small double" which is 6 inches narrower than a full double.

Bookings for 2 guests are for ONE bedroom only. If you would like to use the second bedroom (one guest/one bedroom), please book for 3 guests. Thank you.

If you use the kitchen, please clean up afterwards. There is a stove and microwave oven but we ask that the oven not be used.

Plenty of free on-street parking is available in front of the house and space behind the house. We'll show you the best place to park when you arrive.

We are available to offer advice, assistance and anything you need to make your stay with us special. If we are not in our private rooms, please call or text us. Steve is immunocompromised so he will not be able to interact with guests.

The Den at Foxholes has been carefully renovated to create a luxurious, unique and stylish self-contained guest-suite.

The Den is full of character. It is a private part of Foxholes House which dates back to the early 1700s and was once part of the Longleat Estate (The Marquess of Baths’ crest remains on the wall in the main part of the house).

The property benefits from a tasteful bedroom, en suite shower room, modern kitchen/lounge, and a private patio with outside dining area.

The space
The Den is part of Foxholes House and dates back to the 1700s. It is a wonderful private space, with private access, where guests can unwind or work in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

Set within 3 acres, The Den affords a private patio with a Lazy Susan bistro table and chairs where you can enjoy meals outside. There’s also a dedicated part of the garden for you to enjoy a picnic or BBQ.

Inside, the lounge and kitchen area is well equipped with an oven, fridge, sink, induction hob, comfy sofa with Sophie Allport cushions, coffee table, TV, plus a wood burner for cosy nights. Above the lounge/kitchen is a mezzanine level accessed by a ladder. For safety, this is not to be used by guests (and the ladder can be removed if needed), but it does create a sense of height, space and light - plus the original beams are full of charm.

The bedroom benefits from a deep carpet, underfloor heating, ample storage space and exposed oak beams. The double bed is made of oak and has a brand new sleepeezee ortho mattress. The room is finished with tasteful scion fox blackout blinds.

Off the bedroom is an en-suite shower room. Full of character, the oak beams are exposed and the natural stone floor benefits from underfloor heating. The blinds match those in the bedroom. Baylis and Harding products are provided for your use.

The annexe benefits from free parking in the direct vicinity and you will find the accommodation is very generous and comfortable containing all the utilities and amenities you would expect in your own home. All visitors have loved their stay leaving comments on how at home they have found it here especially those with children.

We are surrounded by Mere Downs with fantastic walks and we are located close to Longleat, Stourhead and many other places of interest.

The Dog House is a charming and quirky converted barn. After renovating the property, we decided to keep its former name, the Dog House, reflecting the fact that it is a place to chill out and relax in! And, if you have a hound in tow - the perfect place to escape to...

Small, but perfectly formed, it is ideal for a romantic getaway, escape to the countryside or action packed adventure.

So there's no surprises (particularly, when, like us, you have a large greyhound in tow), here's what you will be able to enjoy at the Dog House:

Secure enclosed bike storage for two bikes on the driveway, protected by a Ring security system.

​One upstairs bedroom with a double bed. We provide an extremely comfortable Simba mattress and all bed linen and towels.

Lounge and dining area with comfortable sofa, TV (with access to apps via your own subscriptions) and dining area.

Kitchen with small fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, sink, induction hob and essentials, such as mugs, cutlery, plates, bowls, pots, pans, utensils and glasses. It's perfect for making breakfast or a light lunch or dinner, but we would recommend eating out in the evening to sample the culinary delights of Mere and beyond.

We provide tea, coffee (instant and a V60 with 01 filters if you prefer to bring your own ground coffee), sugar, salt and pepper.

We welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes, with a dog bed and a throw for the sofa provided. Dogs can roam free in the cottage and in the fully enclosed patio area. We just ask that you clean up after your dog and ensure that they have a good time!

Unfortunately, due to the age and quirky nature of the Dog House and main cottage garden, we have been unable to make the property fully accessible, including for wheelchairs. Please do note that there is a small set of stairs in the garden and a second set of stairs up to the first floor bedroom.

The Dog House is located to the rear of our main cottage, Arcadia, but we have ensured that it is private and you might only occasionally see a friendly greyhound snoot in the cottage garden, if we are around.

When you enter Mere, head for Mill Lane (easily to find using Sat Nav), Edge Bridge. There is a terrace of three traditional cottages (the middle being our main cottage, Arcadia) with Mill Lane running to the left hand side.

Head down Mill Lane and you will find the parking for the Dog House second on the right (down a chipping driveway with signage and a shed at the bottom).

Please park in the allocated space and use the signposted path to access the Dog House and its private patio.

The space
Welcome to Monkey Manor!

The main house was once home to Henry Thynne, the 6th Marquess of Bath, and his wife, Lady Daphne. Before inheriting Longleat from his father, they created many fond memories here.

In the hall, there is a groove where a monkey cage once stood. Lady Daphne would often take her beloved common woolly monkey, Johnny, for strolls in the enchanting Longleat woods. Johnny was quite the character—he loved to chase the family's parrot and their Pekingese dog up and down the stairs!

Their son, Alexander, the last Lord Bath and father of the current Lord Bath, had his own unique mode of transport. He would be pulled around in a charming buggy towed by a Saint Bernard dog, a delightful sight that you can still see today in Longleat House (the cart, not the dog, of course!).

The house has its own parking area that can fit 2 cars, you then enter the house via the garden.

There is a lovely bright living area with lots of space for all the family to gather. Well equipped kitchen with adjoining open dining area. And foyer entrance with space for coats and boots.

Sleeping arrangements includes downstairs bedroom with single bed and second trundle bed, with ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over head.

Upstairs are two further generous doubles, with recently renovated family shower room.

The large garden in front of property that can be used by guests. It has charming seating area, bbq, and lawn for games. It is a fenced area that is secure for children however for pet owners it is important to note it is not fully dog proofed, as there is access to the owners garden through a fence. Please message us for more details should this be an issue.

We welcome well behaved dogs.

Other things to note
Please note the downstairs bedroom has a slightly unusual configuration as it is separated from the entrance foyer by a curtain. There is a side door to the garden so anyone sleeping won't be disturbed if someone from your party needs to go outside late.

Also although the garden is for use of the airbnb, it is part of the larger property, and garden. The main house conservatory is built in the garden area and is separated by a short picket fence. The house has a gardener and handyman who sometimes works week days so you might see him.

1. The garden, is a fenced area that is secure for children however it is not fully dog proofed, as as there is access to the owners garden through a fence. Please message us for more details should this be an issue.

The hot tub is one of the best you’ll have experienced, with 19 incredible jets and temperatures sat a toasty 38 degrees you’ll feel truly relaxed. Plus, it’s available to use anytime during your stay, so if you wanted a dip at 2AM and stare at the stars, you can. I should also mention we are near one of only 21 international dark sky reserves, meaning our dark skies are recognised for their quality so you’ll see every detail clearer than you have before. Relaxed yet?

Upstairs you’ll find a premium Super King bed, complimented with luxurious bedding so you can truly relax. The bathroom is also located up here, and has a great high pressure rainfall shower. We also provide complimentary toiletries.

For stays longer than 4 nights, I will need to arrange a time with you to carry out essential work on the hot tub to ensure the services are maintained. This will only take 30 minutes and can be done without access to the interior of the properly.

This beautiful 2 bedroom cottage is fully equipped and recently been refurbished to a high standard with a cosy double bed, including hanging rails for your clothes and a tall boy chest, then a 2nd bedroom with bunk beds and chest of draws.

For some reason it’s updated the address as 13B. It’s actually 13D and will clearly say on the first door you come to in the alleyway.

Access to the property is through an alleyway to the left of the red Chinese shop (Hong kong house) this is a shared access so there are recycling bins at the side for the apartments above the shops & us.

The buildings surrounding are undergoing renovation slowly, but access to the Airbnb is clear.

The Airbnb is a private area behind a private communal door where you will find the keysafe.

PARKING: There is NO private parking, you’re choices are either off street parking or parking (which you will pay for) just a 2/3 min walk (NOT 20mins) “central parking” or if you are over night stays, then you can park across the road in a closed down pub car park (for free)

Beautiful, homely holiday cottage built from a barn conversion, located on a working farm in a rural setting on the edge of Salisbury Plain.

The farm is a great location for having a relaxing, peaceful break whilst being able to explore Stonehenge, Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, Wells, Salisbury & Bath very easily.

The space
Rosebud Cottage is fully furnished sleeping 6-8 people comfortably, with all linen and towels included. It is an eco friendly and sustainable property with solar powered electricity and a biomass boiler for central heating and hot water.

A large, 4 bedroom cottage, Rosebud has its own enclosed garden with a conservatory/dining area, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. With a spacious living room with 3 sofas and a TV/DVD Player. Wifi available.

Great location for walking, days out or just relaxing at one of the wonderful gastro pubs in the area.

Enjoy a 360 degree view of unspoiled country side in a secluded and private spot. Three pubs within 5 minute drive and 1 which is a community run pub less than a 10 min walk, easy city links and train links to London.

Guests have an 0.5 acre of garden which is fenced, to give peace of mind to parents and dog owners. Natural stream runs along the bottom of the field in which the pods sits. Use of a fire pit and BBQ.

Pods electricty is run solely on solar pannels to eliminate its impact on the environment. We also use environmentally friendly cleaning products. We can supply bags of wood for hot tub at extra cost or guests are welcome to bring their own wood. All details are provided in the welcome email.

The Hideaway is part of the Hidden Wood Glamping.
The Hideaway's a cosy wooden lodge that sleeps two. Includes fully fitted kitchen with all utensils needed for dinning, shower room with sink and toilet and king size bed with all the bedding.

This is a spacious South facing Grade II listed property located close to Longleat and walking distance to supermarkets, town centre and the national award winning Warminster Town Park. A charming and spacious, thatched cottage with a large garden, situated on a quiet country, no-through, lane and surrounded by stunning views of the countryside. Located in picturesque Horningsham, the village of Longleat Safari Park, there are lots of lovely walks from the doorstep and plenty of attractions to visit in the area. This is the perfect place to get away from it all. Mobile coverage is spotty but there's a landline, and recently-upgraded WiFi fast enough for video streaming.

The space
The detached cottage, some of it dating back to 16th century, has three bedrooms: the very large master with ensuite bathroom, and a double and single which share the family bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is a spacious sitting room with wood burning stove and beams, a large, well equipped kitchen with separate dining area, study, utility room, shower room and conservatory. The garden has a large sheltered terrace with space to dine.

N.B. the upstairs bathrooms don't have showers, the downstairs bathroom has an eco-shower, which may be less powerful than you're used to.

There is parking for up to three cars.

Other things to note
Mobile reception can be patchy as it is in a valley. You can find some signal to most networks, although you might need to go into the garden. There is wireless internet in the study which reaches most rooms but the interior stone walls means it doesn't reach everywhere .
