Located on upper level of the historic Pier 14 Pilot Station (still operated by the Columbia River Pilots) the Pilot House is an elegantly appointed luxury suite in the heart of Astoria's historic waterfront. - "Friends and I booked a house for a friend's work-related event. The property had all of the amenities, clean, well-maintained and was a perfect fit. Being close to the road and town was a good thing and a bad thing, road noise, was constant, but you could not hear it inside the house or the backyard. On the other hand, you could walk across the street for food and to get on the trail that goes thru town. There were no screens in some of the windows; older house, but we did not get in a bugs or flies, so it was a moot issue. A/C would have been nice, but we did not need it. If it was unseasonable warm it would have been uncomfortable, but being close to the ocean that is probably a rare occurrence. Good communication with the owner and we had no issues."

This is an older building (over 100 years old) with original, restored wood floors. In this lower flat, there may be some sounds like foot traffic from the tenants on the floor above. If you find this a disturbance, we provide white noise machines in the bedrooms as well as ear plugs. Also note; we discourage running or stomping in this flat as it can be heard throughout the building.

If you have mobility concerns you should know that the unit is located on the first floor but still requires you climb 23 stairs from street to the front door.
