The kitchen is well laid out with new appliances and dishes/pots/pans, and a beautiful central island for gathering. The game table was well-loved by our kids, as was the large and safe play structure outside, which was enjoyed by kids between 3-8 years old (shout out to tan bark). The beds were comfy and linens were clean. Bathrooms well stocked with full size shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and body wash, and even an extra toothbrush and toothpaste (which we didn’t need, but thoughtful touch). Host Kyle was friendly and responsive. Neighborhood is quiet and serene. Highly recommend!"

Our home is nestled in the outskirts of Kelso/Longview Washington. We have a duplex with long term downstairs tenants, and you would have full access to the upstairs. Our chickens are excited to have visitors. We believe that our home is perfect to host a group or family. We have attempted to add as many options as possible to keep everyone entertained and encourage FUN for your trip. The kitchen and the large layout of the home is perfect for hosting a get together that will bring everyone closer during your stay! We can't wait to host you!

Although we live close by, we want to allow you the most privacy. We allow you to utilize keyless coded entry. There is a basement Long Term Tenant. Please park on the far-left hand side of the house. There is room for multiple parking spots. While the side door is the most convenient entry due to parking, guests will be able to allow guests or visitors to enter at the very majestic front door entryway as well.
We are utilizing Kyle as a cohost to keep communication quick and prompt.

One large living room with TV and multiple seating areas and large comfy couches. There is a decor only wood stove. Large 8-person table and we have 3 seats around a large breakfast bar in the kitchen. Kitchen includes all cooking utensils for cooking in. Two full bathrooms and a third bathroom that is attached to the primary bedroom that has a large jetted tub with extra large walk in shower. We also provide a Queen-sized air mattress that can sleep 2 people as well as a closet that you can locate a Pack and Play, best use for babies or toddlers. The game room has a ping pong/pool table, board games, foos ball table, karaoke, weights and bands with an exercise bike. There is plenty to entertain your entire family. We know that the whole group will feel at home in this spacious retreat!

The home was filled with great quality appliances... comforters and sheets and everything in between. The house was quiet and even though not the best neighborhood we felt totally safe. - "Host was able to return my msgs in a short period of time. Unit was clean and offered a great price. I would stay there again if the opportunity arose. " - "Condo was amazing just like the photos, conveniently near shopping. Great parking and love the the upstairs lofts. 4-1/2 Stars" - "We worked around issues so that the unit met our needs. Check-in instructions imply that access should be through the building and unit front doors. Though, we found the unit key in the lockbox at the back door. The unit is described online as 3 bedrooms; it's two bedrooms with a loft that was empty except for a desk. The unit is also described online as having 2 queen beds and a double sofa bed while the in-unit instructions describe a single person fold-down sofa. The sofa is NOT a sofa bed or a fold-down sofa; it has a recliner on each end. A note was left that the extra linens, towels, and washcloths were in the dryer. Though, the items were still wet in the dryer because EVERYTHING (blankets, sheets, towels, and washcloths) were in the dryer as a single load. I had to separate the "bundle" and dry three separate loads. To accommodate our family of four adults (grandmother and 3 adult grandchildren), we bought an air mattress for one grandson, and grandmother slept on the sofa. Otherwise, the unit was clean and conveniently located for our plans."

- "We booked last minute for just 2 nights during the week. Place is cute and clean pictures are accurate looks the same. ?? Nieghborhood questionable yet it was quite and nobody messed with our car/property, so what can we really say. Place is clean and spacious has all the basics you need. Do have 2 small suggestions a sponge 🧽 for kitchen so can wipe down things, and small bar of soap or small body wash would be very nice to have. Only downside real issue is fluctuation on water temperature neither one of us ever got a real hot nice shower. We questioned if due to it is a 4 unit building and maybe all using same line? We don’t know. Overall was nice place 👍"

- "We needed a large place to stay in order for our family to be together for my mother’s funeral. The house and condo were exactly as listed and pictured. At one time, we had 3 adults downstairs and 5 adults upstairs. We did most of our cooking and eating upstairs, so I hope we didn’t mix up the cookware too much! It was very comfortable for all - enough room to gather, or be separated. And the deer! We had a mother deer and her two youngsters visit every day, and even caught a glimpse of the buck. The setting is beautiful - we sat a lot on the porches and enjoyed the ambiance. We took a couple of walks around the neighborhood, too. The location was near where we needed to be (but Longview isn’t that big anyway). All in all, even though the occasion was not the happiest, the house was wonderful for us to gather as a family that doesn’t see each other often."

- "The place met our needs but we had a few bumps. It was raining when we arrived and check in instructions said to park in one of 3 spots in back. Walked through muddy yard to front entrance and found a note inside that parking was the one designated spot in the front. I messaged host for tips on getting the eurocouch upstairs to lay completely flat and did not get a response. There was also only one half roll of toilet paper, with location for extras empty. We were happy to replenish and will likely stay again when in town for work."

- "Beautiful apartment hidden in the trees. Sauna was a great way to relax at the end of the day. We were able to do the laundry that comes with 3 kids. We did have some louder upstairs neighbors but overall the stay was super nice." - "We were disappointed with this stay. My husband and I had a chance to get away from our kiddos for a night- and this Vrbo caught our eye. Looked really relaxing and we were so excited. Unfortunately there were things that were just not great. The listing showed a different couch which when we got there was a leather couch- so totally wrong vibe but whatever… not a big deal. The listing showed a jacuzzi tub and sauna. Sauna worked great- but the jacuzzi tub was a bust… there wasn’t enough hot water so we only filled it up like maybe less than half- had to wait forever.. that we just decided Nevermind… There is no thermostat to control the temp in the unit. While the host was quick to respond to that concern it just felt like that was weird.. and then up till about 11:30pm there was just loud noises from the above unit and lots of footsteps that sounded like stomping- then as we were hoping to get a full night of uninterrupted sleep- and not being woken up soo early in the morning- we were woken up at 6am to loud footsteps all over from the above unit.. This was not a relaxing stay and felt like a cheap hotel with no regulation. Also upon arrival there was a huge spider in the room- the toilet looked unclean and the shower had residue everywhere.. for the price we weren’t expecting this.. Lots of things to consider when renting your home out to others. Hopefully you can make it better for future stays…"

Guest Access:
Guest has full access to the main street level house. Note there is a second Air BnB unit on the lower level with separate entrance and access down the stairs on the left side of the house. Please be considerate of noise after 8pm.

The Neighborhood:
Quiet Safe Neighborhood just 1 mile from downtown. House backs to a wooded setting.

Other Things to Note:
There is a shared backyard that is not yet landscaped and is therefore not currently available for use.

- "My friend and I chose this place for a relaxing weekend away. We were very disappointed in our experience. It was hard to find, very loud, and a little creepy. Hard to find. There was no house number so we had to guess based on the neighboring addresses, there was very little lighting to lead us to the door, not even the porch light, just one little string of lights on part of the path. The path was rocky and treacherous to navigate in the dark. Very loud. This was in no way a “truly private space.” While we understood that this was a basement unit and there would be tenants upstairs, we did not expect to hear every detail of the goings on up there. We heard every pulling out of a chair, stomping of feet, clanging of dish, and every note on the piano (of which there were oh so many). We knew when it was bath time, meal time, and of course bedtime, because it could not be bed time for us until it was bedtime for the upstairs tenants. We could hear specifics of conversations so we assumed they could hear ours. We left our children at home for a weekend away only to listen to the sounds of someone else’s children. It was stressful and disappointing. Calling it a “woodsy retreat” is a pretty big stretch. It was a house in the suburbs. It had a couple of nice trees, but it did not “feel miles away from civilization”. A little creepy. As I did my safety check of windows and doors I discovered that the door separating the two units only locked from their side. There were holes on our side of the door where a padlock had previously been. Super unsettling. We did not feel entirely safe, and I can’t say the axe on the porch helped that vibe. Nor did the lack of window coverings. Especially in the shower. The physical space was nice. It was clean and well furnished. The sauna was great. If it were standing alone, it would have been a relaxing weekend. But as it was, we do not feel like the representation on vrbo matched the reality of the experience. We felt misled by the description and didn’t get much of a response when we reached out to the owners, though they did offer a 15% refund in the end."

Seaside is a popular beach destination that is family-friendly with a popular carousel ride, an aquarium, great dining options, and a sweet candy shop along a boardwalk full of quaint shops. Seeing the beach is a great option, but if that is not your preference, we also recommend taking a day's drive to see Mount Hood or Mount Saint Helens. There is so much to see close to here and from this location, you could even easily visit Portland and Seattle on the same weekend. If you need any recommendations during your stay, we would love to share some of the great adventures that you can access from this property.

The Loft Bedroom: The highlight of our apartment is the loft-style bedroom, accessible via a sliding ladder. To use the ladder, simply grasp the handles firmly and ascend with caution - one rung at a time. Safety is paramount, so we strongly advise against climbing the ladder with loose items or in socks. Always lock the wheels before accending. Once you reach the top, you'll discover a luxurious queen-sized bed, complete with plush pillows and soft linens for your comfort. In the loft, you'll also find bedside lamps for reading and outlets for charging your devices.

The Transforming Couch: For those who prefer a more conventional sleeping arrangement or are traveling with children, the couch in the living area effortlessly transforms into a bed. The space
TINY is the key word here…. 180 square feet is a small amount of space but we’ve done our best to design and build the tiny house to maximize that space. The unique thing about our tiny home is there is no lofted sleeping space. That means you don’t have to climb up on a ladder to head to bed.. everything is on one level!
The kitchen is well equip for cooking and large in tiny home standards.
The outdoor space includes a small yard and fantastic views with a covered seating area.
We do not charge a cleaning fee and we don't leave you a chore list for checkout, we just ask for a quick message to say you’ve checked out because this helps us make this the best space it can be for all our guests!
We are always in different stages of development and building and some times are quieter than others, if you want to know what stages we will potentially be in during your stay please ask!
If you are looking for a one night stay, please ask… we occasionally are able to accommodate one night stays upon request.

Since we are a small family farm developing this land, there will potentially be various levels of work being done during your stay. Some times it is completely quiet and others there is more going on but we do our best to give our guests a peaceful stay.

My two-bedroom unit is ideal for couples with children and business travelers. It has a fully equipped utility kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom with vanity. Common areas are a sitting/dining area, laundry/storage room and outside deck. The lower level has its own entrance and parking spaces and overlooks secluded woods to the back. The house is close to town, shops, amenities and five minutes from I5. Guests from all backgrounds are very welcome. The unit is ideal for long-term stays.

The space
Guests are entirely independent and private in the space but can socialize as much as they wish. The kitchen is ideal for most things but for more elaborate cooking there is a much larger kitchen on the main floor of the house. The downstairs has it's own private entrance or can be accessed through the house if necessary. The neighborhood is very quiet, and safety is not an issue, the location couldn't be any more convenient for shops and amenities.

There is a comfortable sitting and dining area. The floor on which the unit is located has a private deck overlooking the woods. A laundry room is available for guests with an iron and drying facilities.

There is a good wifi connection and desks available. There is plenty going on in Longview in terms of live performances and movie theatres. We have plenty of restaurants and nice coffee shops.

On a cul-de-sac in quiet residential area. Good spot for traveling nurses, mill workers, hikers, hunters, fishermen. One minute to the corner minute mart, 10 min drive to freeway, Safeway and Target, downtown Longview or I-5. 1 1/12 hour drive to Mt St Helens visitor center. 45 minutes to Portland airport. 1 1/2 hr to the coast. 2 1/2 hrs to Seattle. We are in the Three Rivers area, so there are many options for fishing, hiking and water sports. Off street parking. Private entrance. Boat parking

The space
This is an apartment in our daylight basement with a private entrance. You’ll have your own kitchen area with sink, microwave, Kourig, stove and fridge. Dishes, pots and pans, utensils, coffee, tea and some condiments and cooking spices are provided. The bedroom has a king bed with an adjoining bath. The family room has a large couch with a sofa bed, Direct TV and wifi. It is an older home but comfy and clean and you'll have everything you need. We live on a hill overlooking the Cowlitz River. There is boat access to the river a couple of blocks from the house. Smelt fishing is very popular here when they are running once a year, as well as the salmon and steelhead. You can put your boat in there and park for free while you fish.

Other things to note
This is an older home and we live above the unit. Therefore, there is potential for noise. We try to be as quiet as possible from 11pm to 7am. However our tv is above the guest living room area so it can be heard. There is a train that goes by in the night that sounds a horn several times. So, full disclosure: light sleepers be advised. Earplugs provided.
PLEASE NOTE: the pathway from the parking area to the unit winds down through our garden area. there is a slightly inclined driveway, 2 steps, stepping stones, concrete. and slightly inclined driveway. (PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES) It could be challenging at night, with rolling luggage or for someone with limited mobility. Motion lights do come on to light the area. We happily answer any questions about the access and can provide an alternative entry (with stairs) in inclement weather if necessary. We have a small, very friendly dog who sometimes uses the back yard so you might see him from time to time. We avoid that area while you're here, but we might be seen there cleaning up after or supervising him. He's usually quiet, but you could hear him bark briefly or running around above the unit playing during the day. We try to keep him quiet at night. Also for stays longer than a week we will need to use the washer and dryer in your unit. We will be sure to arrange with you so to use it when you’re not there.

Our house is centrally located in Longview. Sacagawea Park is a block away with a 3.45 mile trail filled with beautiful landscape, playgrounds and so much more. Along the way you will see some of our historic sites including our famous squirrel bridges. Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place.

Welcome to The Kirk! A 1926 original Old West Side apartment building located just blocks from beautiful Lake Sacajawea, situated on a wonderfully tree lined street. There is a courtyard and garden space, complete with a compost. We use toxic free cleaning agents. You will find the neighborhood to be quiet and charming! Inside you will see it is well equipped and even has a dōTERRA diffuser with your own set of essential oils to use during your stay! If you need anything, we live a block away!

The space
The apartment is heated by baseboards and remains quite cozy in the winter months. The mattress is a queen size Stearns and Foster, which came highly recommended for a quality guest mattress, and there is a pullout queen sleeper couch in the living room. The apartment has all new paint, refinished original wood floors, and a fully renovated bathroom. There is laundry in the basement that is coin operated and shared with our community here at The Kirk and The Catlin. You can walk to the lake, charming downtown, the hospital, college, civic circle, library....this is a superb location! If you want to hike in the mountains they are not far, or take a stroll on the beach you can do that too! Portland is 45 minutes south and Seattle is 2 hours north. You can visit Mt. Rainier, Mount St. Helens, Mt Adams, the Gorge…..So many great spots within hours!

There is a NO SMOKING 🚭 policy in place not only in the apartment, but the entire property is non-smoking.

No parties tolerated or loud rambunctious behavior. This is a quiet community with long term tenants.

Our charming Victorian home was built in 1900 and moved to Longview's oldest and most beautiful neighborhood in 1923. Close to the lake and downtown. The house features a formal dining room, large library, and plenty of space to relax!

This is a beautiful, 120 year old house with hardwood floors, high ceilings, chandeliers, nooks, and a lot of charm. Plenty of natural light.

Longview's beautiful lake is a short walk away. The Longview Public Library, Monticello Hotel, and downtown are also walking distance or a short drive.

Our large dining room and kitchen are perfect for family dinners. The cozy library has something for everyone. Relax on the porch swing out front or on the spacious back deck.

Studio apartment above a garage, BEHIND the pictured house. Private entrance, off-street parking; 325 sq feet including full kitchen, tub and shower, queen bed (memory foam), dining table, TV. Located on lovely Lake Sacajawea with its tree-filled park. Walk or bike the perimeter (3+ miles) or part of the lake. House is a short distance from the hospital on the opposite side of the lake. Many of our guests are "travelers," medical professionals working on short-term contracts.

The space
The house was built in 1981 from salvage from the eruption of Mt St Helens. Our family had a cabin on the north fork of the Toutle River which was washed away in the debris flow. My dad was eligible for what was then a low-interest loan (8 1/2%) from the government and built the house next to our own home. My uncle had timbered property that had to be cut because of the inundation of ash and he gave Dad permission to take whatever Weyerhaeuser left behind. He knew a guy with a portable sawmill nearby and they milled all the lumber. Then Dad, who was distinctly NOT handy and in his 60s, built the house with the help of a brother-in-law in his late 70s. Incredibly, they pulled it off, and it is now being visited by people from all over the world.

Hillside hideaway cottage is in a private rural location winding up a gravel road just outside of Longview WA. The cottage overlooks a small goat farm with sweet views of the Columbia River valley below. The cottage has a small self-contained backyard with a covered seating area to enjoy the views even on rainy days.
The cottage is situated next to our other guest space that is also listed on Airbnb, ( Hillside Hideaway Tiny House).
Both spaces are built in a way to offer maximum privacy. The cottage's fully fenced and self contained back yard is private and accessible only by cottage guests.
Please note that the cottage is also next to active building site where we are building our home. There will be construction noise and work possibly happening during your stay anytime between 8am-8pm.
Sometimes will be quieter then others, so If you would like to know what phase of development we are at during the timeframe of your stay please reach out. We do our best to make it a peaceful stay when guests are around, but some specific things are time sensitive and we may not be able to put off.

For a harmonious coexistence in our cozy space, we kindly ask you to consider these simple guidelines to make the most of your animal-friendly stay:
1. To ensure everyone's safety, all animals must remain leashed when outside. No exceptions.
2. We have a no-animals-on-the-furniture policy. That includes beds and lofts too!
3. Our limit is 1 pet per stay, unless we've chatted and made special arrangements.
4. Cat lovers, bring your own litter box along for your feline friends.
5. We've got you covered with pet waste bags—please use them for clean-ups, every single time.
6. We're all about quality time together, so no leaving furry friends solo in the home; even in a crate.
7. Oopsie moments happen! If they do, there are handy cleaning supplies under the sink.
8. A daily sweep of the house will do wonders, and is required, to keep fur from taking over.
9. Guests at our Creekside Cottage, we've set up a pup relief area on the side of the house (with a sign!) to save the lawn. Feel free to use it, or any other spot on the property except the front lawn.
10. During your stay may encounter our friendly young barn cats and our very tame, large, free-range bunnies outside. If your pup is prone to chasing bunnies or are particularly reactive to cats, or any unexpected outdoor critters, this is likely not a good fit for your needs.
11. Disruptive pups (uncontrollable barking, digging, etc…) will be asked to leave and will not be eligible for a refund.

My Tiny Creekside Retreat is a great option for crews, professionals traveling for work, and is a way safer, more secure, and affordable option than local hotels.
Hosting guests, however, who have not made the reservation itself carries additional risk and hosting challenges. As such, in our desire to support our local employers we have recently developed and released this 3rd Party Booking Policy.
If you are booking on behalf of someone else, please review and accept this policy by replying specifically with the phrase “Responsible Guests Welcome”:
1) Booking must be confirmed at least 2 hours in advance of arrival.
2) Payment of an additional $150 refundable cleaning deposit via an Airbnb resolution center request will be required prior to arrival.
3) A contact name and verifiable cell phone # must be provided for at least 1 of the guests who are staying. Contact will be made with them prior to their arrival to verify their ID and ensure they are aware of the expectations during their stay.

Guests access the apartment from the alley. You have your own partially covered parking for 2 average size cars. The entrance door is marked with a red welcome sign & keyless entry. The space is a great size for a family of 4.

The beautiful Lake Sacajawea is a 5-minute walk away (1&1/2 long blocks). You can spend hours there enjoying the view and walking trails. You are about a 7-minute walk to coffee, Grocery stores and restaurants. 45 minutes is all it takes to get to Portland on a light traffic day. 35 minutes to Vancouver.

The downstairs tenants can be of help when needed. They have 2 small hypoallergenic HAIR dogs that do not go in the upstairs apartment.
The LAUNDRY is attached to their unit, but can be accessed near your entry point. They require up to a 3-hour notice to clear out the washer and dryer for you. Contact me for this amenity.

The house includes three bedrooms with full, king, and queen beds and a dedicated work station; a full kitchen with more than the usual amenities and a dining table that seats 4 with extra chairs if needed. There is one full bathroom with a clawfoot tub as well as a separate wet/dry sauna with its own shower. The living space has a comfy couch and a recliner in front of a wood stove with firewood provided. While There are no TVs in the house, there's good wifi–bring your laptop for a working vacation or to binge your favorite shows. The patio just off the kitchen includes a propane grill and fire bowl as well as a table for 8 and relaxing Adirondack chairs. We provide a variety of indoor and outdoor games as well as plenty of space to explore and hike.

The space
The home is located less than a mile from I-5 in a nice neighborhood. It’s close to Mt. Rainier National Park, Mount St Helens, the beautiful Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Portland, Oregon, and the beautiful beaches of the Washington and Oregon Coast!

While this is a one level home, you will need to take a step up through the front door to get inside. There are two steps down to get into the garage game room, there are 2 steps to get down through the back sliding door to the patio. And there are a couple steps to get into the hot tub.

3 Bedrooms
1st Bedroom: King Bed with a bathroom/ shower only, no tub. Rain shower head and towel warmer. Bedroom has a Roku TV with remote. There is a single rollaway bed in the closet with sheets, pillow and comforter. A playpen is in the closet too.

2nd Bedroom: Queen Bed, Roku TV, desk and chair, with a full bathroom with bathtub adjacent.

3rd Bedroom: Full Bed and Twin XL electric adjustable bed, Roku TV, and chair, with bathroom adjacent.

The Living Room features comfortable seating including a comfortable sectional couch with pull out built in ottoman, a rocker recliner chair, soft sitting bench, a Roku Smart TV with the ability to log in to your favorite apps, surround sound, an electric fireplace for heat and/or ambiance and a zero gravity massage chair.

There is a music room with a piano as you first walk in. (Please do not put drinks on the piano.) It has a big picture window, a shelf with a sound drum and singing bowl.

The dining room has seating for 4 people. There are 2 bar stools at the kitchen peninsula adjacent to the dining room table. There is a cabinet full of board games and children’s books and toys.

Open the sliding doors off the dining room and step onto the private back patio with string lights and seating for the entire group! Here you can sit and tell campfire stories around the cozy propane fire pit or soak in the 4 person hot tub with gazebo cover with privacy curtains. Please cover the hot tub when not in use. There is also a BBQ for your use.

The garage is a fun place to also relax and unwind. We have a couple of comfy chairs in front of the electric fireplace and ROKU TV for some game watching. Shoot some pool, throw some darts, practice on the putting green, grab some vinyl for the record player, or pull up a bar stool and pour your favorite drink at the bar! We have margarita glasses, wine glasses, and tumblers provided. And get nostalgic playing the Pac-Man arcade! Can you beat the highest score? There a some board games in the white game cabinet too. (More in the shutter cabinet in the dining room.) A mini split unit will be installed within the next couple months.

There are two spaces in the driveway to park cars. If your car leaks oil please park in the street in front of the house.

Our home is nestled in the outskirts of Kelso/Longview Washington. We have a duplex with long term downstairs tenants, and you would have full access to the upstairs. Our chickens are excited to have visitors. We believe that our home is perfect to host a group or family.

One large foyer, one office/twin bedroom that is SEMI Private. We have a partition set up, but there is not a full wall. There is a separation. One queen bedroom with closet space. One large living room with TV and multiple seating areas and large comfy couches. We have a large 8-person table and we have 3 seats around a large breakfast bar in the kitchen. Kitchen includes all cooking utensils for cooking in. Two full bathrooms and a third full bathroom that is attached to the primary bedroom that has a large jetted tub with extra large walk in shower. We also provide a Queen-sized air mattress that can sleep 2 people as well as a closet that you can locate a Pack and Play, best use for babies or toddlers. The game room has a ping pong/pool table, board games, foos ball table, karaoke, weights and bands with an exercise bike. There is plenty to entertain your entire family. We know that the whole group will feel at home in this spacious retreat!

(There is unit B to the right of the garage, this small space is sometimes occupied as a small apartment space off the garage and completely separate from the main house.
