The main house was added in the 90's, but the Bungalow is still detached, and very private. So quiet that you may never see or hear the owners in the main house, and they may never see or hear you.

The reviews don't lie; the Bungalow has everything, and that means everything you might need for a comfortable stay... especially the high-quality Cal-King, and XL Twin beds…who doesn't need a great night sleep?! The kitchen is nicely stocked with coffee, fresh cream, condiments, spices and snacks. In the morning enjoy making gluten-free buttermilk pancakes and eggs. AJ’s special pancake mix, fresh eggs, real butter, and maple syrup provided.

If time allows, try Roland Winery nearby for some live music, good wine, and good food. The drive to visit Mount St. Helens monument was beautiful. AJ is a great host too! Check-in instructions imply that access should be through the building and unit front doors. Though, we found the unit key in the lockbox at the back door. The unit is described online as 3 bedrooms; it's two bedrooms with a loft that was empty except for a desk. The unit is also described online as having 2 queen beds and a double sofa bed while the in-unit instructions describe a single person fold-down sofa. The sofa is NOT a sofa bed or a fold-down sofa; it has a recliner on each end. A note was left that the extra linens, towels, and washcloths were in the dryer. Though, the items were still wet in the dryer because EVERYTHING (blankets, sheets, towels, and washcloths) were in the dryer as a single load. I had to separate the "bundle" and dry three separate loads. To accommodate our family of four adults (grandmother and 3 adult grandchildren), we bought an air mattress for one grandson, and grandmother slept on the sofa. Otherwise, the unit was clean and conveniently located for our plans."

- "We booked last minute for just 2 nights during the week. Place is cute and clean pictures are accurate looks the same. ?? Nieghborhood questionable yet it was quite and nobody messed with our car/property, so what can we really say. Place is clean and spacious has all the basics you need. Do have 2 small suggestions a sponge 🧽 for kitchen so can wipe down things, and small bar of soap or small body wash would be very nice to have. Only downside real issue is fluctuation on water temperature neither one of us ever got a real hot nice shower. We questioned if due to it is a 4 unit building and maybe all using same line? We don’t know. Overall was nice place 👍"

- "We needed a large place to stay in order for our family to be together for my mother’s funeral. The house and condo were exactly as listed and pictured. At one time, we had 3 adults downstairs and 5 adults upstairs. We did most of our cooking and eating upstairs, so I hope we didn’t mix up the cookware too much! It was very comfortable for all - enough room to gather, or be separated. And the deer! We had a mother deer and her two youngsters visit every day, and even caught a glimpse of the buck. The setting is beautiful - we sat a lot on the porches and enjoyed the ambiance. We took a couple of walks around the neighborhood, too. The location was near where we needed to be (but Longview isn’t that big anyway). All in all, even though the occasion was not the happiest, the house was wonderful for us to gather as a family that doesn’t see each other often."

- "The place met our needs but we had a few bumps. It was raining when we arrived and check in instructions said to park in one of 3 spots in back. Walked through muddy yard to front entrance and found a note inside that parking was the one designated spot in the front. I messaged host for tips on getting the eurocouch upstairs to lay completely flat and did not get a response. There was also only one half roll of toilet paper, with location for extras empty. We were happy to replenish and will likely stay again when in town for work."

- "Beautiful apartment hidden in the trees. Sauna was a great way to relax at the end of the day. We were able to do the laundry that comes with 3 kids. We did have some louder upstairs neighbors but overall the stay was super nice." - "We were disappointed with this stay. My husband and I had a chance to get away from our kiddos for a night- and this Vrbo caught our eye. Looked really relaxing and we were so excited. Unfortunately there were things that were just not great. The listing showed a different couch which when we got there was a leather couch- so totally wrong vibe but whatever… not a big deal. The listing showed a jacuzzi tub and sauna. Sauna worked great- but the jacuzzi tub was a bust… there wasn’t enough hot water so we only filled it up like maybe less than half- had to wait forever.. that we just decided Nevermind… There is no thermostat to control the temp in the unit. While the host was quick to respond to that concern it just felt like that was weird.. and then up till about 11:30pm there was just loud noises from the above unit and lots of footsteps that sounded like stomping- then as we were hoping to get a full night of uninterrupted sleep- and not being woken up soo early in the morning- we were woken up at 6am to loud footsteps all over from the above unit.. This was not a relaxing stay and felt like a cheap hotel with no regulation. Also upon arrival there was a huge spider in the room- the toilet looked unclean and the shower had residue everywhere.. for the price we weren’t expecting this.. Lots of things to consider when renting your home out to others. Hopefully you can make it better for future stays…"

Small but fully remodeled. This home has been remodeled from the studs up. It has 3 nice size bedrooms and 1 bath. All of the furnishings and appliances are brand new. This is a great place to kick back after a day of exploring the surrounding area - you can goo hiking, take walks along Lake Sacajawea, or take a drive to the coast. Mt St. Helens is not to far away. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area.

- "Would have been nice to know there was nowhere to park my truck with my boat! Had to back all the way down the street to get my boat back out from this house. Ended up parking my boat at my cousins place as no way to park it at this place. I did ask the owner if there would be room to park my boat there and he never returned my message! Other things to note
Smoking is allowed outside in gravel area. Cooler and fold out chairs available upon request for your adventures. There is a new build going up at the bottom of our road, during daytime hours it is possible you might hear work being done. There is also a rooster on the neighboring property that might give you a wake up call! The tiny house is on a shared but private road. Neighbors sometimes use the road which leads behind the tiny house, so you may have a couple cars drive by. It’s a private road though, so no heavy traffic.
If you plan to use the hot tub, I would recommend adjusting the temperature to your liking upon arrival. It doesn’t take long to heat up - but we typically keep it around 98 degrees when it’s not in use. I personally find 101-103 to be a good temp. To increase the temperature, press the temperature button multiple times until it goes up to the desired temperature. If the hot tub needs any servicing during your stay, please reach out via the message portal.

The space

Once inside you can light a fire in the wood stove during the winter, or blast the AC in the summer. You can snuggle up to a great movie, a game, or a good book. Feel free to cook meals on the 5-burner gas stove, the electric grill, or the large toaster oven. The kitchen is well stocked with condiments, spices and snacks. And for breakfast... coffee, fresh eggs, and AJ's homemade, gluten-free, buttermilk pancake & waffle mix in the fridge. Top them with real butter and grade A maple syrup, also provided.

No pets allowed, but if you like animals and nature, you can watch for wildlife through one of the many windows, the two person swing, the patio furniture, or your own private deck out back.

The bungalow and the main house are only connected by a large closet. So be as loud as you'd like, the noise won't bother a soul.

In our small town of Castle Rock, only 12 minutes away, you can walk the waterfront, grab a coffee and explore the local shops. You can also experience around the still active volcano, Mount St. Helen's, just a little further away.

The Bungalow is the perfect place to unplug. Your stay is sure to be restful and healthy. No need to worry if the slow-life isn't for you, Starlink internet still gives enough signal to flaunt pics of the bungalow on your social media, and most cell phone signals make it up the hill.

It has a kitchen laundry room, full bath, living room and 1 bedroom all on the main floor. The only room upstairs is the 2nd bedroom. There are no shared spaces or common walls with the main house. The Bungalow yard will be clearly posted outside for full privacy.

Other things to note
If having pure water is important to you, the Bungalow's well water is spectacular. It has a high PH balance and has been tested free of all impurities. The taste alone will have you coming back for more.

The home sits on a 1-acre property that slopes downward towards the river. The home sits up high and has a great view of the property, river, and lanscape across the river.

We do not own the riverbank! You are technically leaving our property if you go within 10 feet of the river. Therefore, we don't advertise "access" to the river. There is a short footpath that leaves our property and goes to the river.

The main floor includes the kitchen, living room, dining area, laundry, garage, shared full bathroom, and 3 bedrooms. The "Master" bedroom on the main floor includes a private 3/4 en-suite bathroom. All three bedrooms on the main floor have a queen size bed and a TV. These bedrooms are great for a couple or individual who wants their own separate sleeping space.

The top floor includes 2 rooms with 2 twin XL beds each. This totals 4 twin XL beds. The top floor has a short ceiling, a little over 6 feet. This space is excellent for single individuals who are 6ft or shorter.

The bottom floor includes a large open space for community enjoyment. There is a wet bar and 3-quarter bathroom on this floor.

The House of Healing was built in 1971. The A-Frame log cabin style is unique to the area and was hand built by the original owner and with community help.
Over the years, this house has been the home to the Lynn family, with its initial inhabitant living to be 96 years old! We love our historic home so much!
It has been perfected for rest, healing, and tranquility over the last couple years to provide you with zen; a home away from home.
