- "Comfy, well-equipped rental just steps away from all that is happening downtown!" - "Beautiful, bright apartment. Perfect location overlooking the working harbor. In town within walking distance of everything. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen. Perfect." - "We enjoyed our stay at Harborside apartment and appreciated the welcome gifts and the attention to detail of thoughtful things that were provided. The location was quiet and yet we were able to enjoy the local activities on the dock and in town. Our only suggestion is that renters should know that the closest laundromat is 28 miles away., and that is what is meant by a coin operated washing machine in the listing. We would recommend this VRBO property."

- "What an interesting house! We all had fun exploring it, and we admired Michael's taste in art." - "Our host was able to accommodate my family in a way I simply would never expect. They literally saved my trip, after the original place I booked over an hour away turned into a nightmare requiring me to forfeit a week's rental and just hope for the best in finding something else last minute. The host at High Tide was a beaming knight in shining armor, responding to my very late night booking request. I thought it was too good to be true until we arrived and it was everything thing the listing said it would be and soo much more! A one-of-a-kind victorian home with modern touches that kept true to its history. The location was amazing, the setting was perfect, and the town was out of a storybook. My family and I loved every moment of being here creating memories that will last a lifetime. We will be back very soon. Thank you Michael for everything! Until next time!"

The historic Corthell & Gardner building, overlooks Passamaquoddy Bay, the island of Campobello and Eastport's working waterfront. The Crow's Nest is an 1150sf loft embracing the building's history and designed for comfort and luxury. Watch for whales, loons, harbor seals and our lobster fleet from the privacy of your own deck in the United States' Easternmost City. Run down to the first floor for a craft beer from Horn Run Brewing or a glass of great wine at Phoenix Fine Wines. Perfect for artists, writers and couples looking for a romantic getaway. The Crow's Nest is a third floor loft and requires working knees and hips! The Crow's Nest can sleep four with a pullout couch but is genuinely most appropriate for singles or a couple.
- "Laura’s place is beautiful. As a construction/renovation person, I appreciated the great mix of old and new in addition to the plethora of amenities offered. It’s by far the best you’ll find in Eastport-clean, spacious, bright, right in the downtown mix and has wonderful views of the water across to Canada. Also, the hot water is actually hot so baths are nice and the bed is very soft. Being above her wine bar doesn’t hurt (which is also lovely). As others have mentioned, there are a lot of stairs and they are quite steep, so if that’s an issue for you, walk slowly…it’s still worth the trip up there. The only helpful tip I can provide is that there are no blinds or curtains on any of the amazing windows, so if you need dark to sleep (like me), make sure to bring an eye pillow and you’ll be just fine. That whole waking up to the sunrise thing is lost on me. If I ever returned to Eastport, I’d make sure to do it at a time when this place is available because after staying here, I can only imagine how disappointing any other accommodation would be."

Check in was a breeze, no issues at all, The owner was very detailed with notes and little facts like: the Eagles nest to left off the deck (we unfortunately did not see) However there was a meteor shower that weekend that was very exciting. This property was excellent from start to finish. Perfect location to view the skies at night:) I will gladly rate this as a "Five Star" property. The Hauser's Quaker Hill CT." - "Beautiful home. - "We enjoyed our time here, lots of room to relax &b walking distance to town." - "We so enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Located on a quiet street, yet close to town and with a lovely view of the water, it had everything we needed. Eating meals on the deck while enjoying the sunshine, cool breeze and the stunning view was a highlight. We only wish we could have stayed longer!" - "Quiet location in Eastport, in an older but nicely renovated property. Three coffee prep options for the coffee lover. Well appointed kitchen that lacked nothing that we required. Downtown shops and restaurant are a walk of about 6/10's of a mile. Clean and tidy. Only thing I'd alter would be one or two of the pillows, which I found to be on the thick side, which might be a challenge for an older adult with neck issues. Better still, are you driving? Bring your own!"

- "What a fantastic find! Prior to and during stay, Mark (the host) was extremely responsive and helpful. The apartment is located in a quiet, beautiful country setting just a few miles from Eastport. It is the perfect location for exploring Eastport and the surrounding area (e.g., Campobello, St. Andrews, and the art gallies and great restaurants in Eastport). The apartment is spacious, well appointed, and sparkles like new. It was hard to choose between relaxing on the front or back deck (each has multiple lounging chairs and a gathering table). The front deck has an excellent water view and the back deck overlooks a very large, well kept, property. The setting is so relaxing, quiet and beautiful (inside and out). When we return to the area this will be my first choice of a place to stay. Definitely a 5 star rating. Thank you, Mark!"

There is a small trail around the property and a pond with waterlilies. I even came across an adolescent bald eagle that seemed to be fishing in the pond... Really a special, quiet getaway. The kitchen was brand new and HUGE and the coffee and eggs were a nice touch. Lots of activities in Eastport to keep us entertained, including whalewatching, excellent affordable restaurants and beautiful architecture. Even in the dead of summer the weather was very comfortable here on the bay. New cottage open for 2024!! Shackford Cove Cottage is a charming cottage with the best view of Shackford Cove in Eastport! It features a relaxing entertaining space on the first floor and two bedrooms and a bath on the second. It was built as a sardine workers' housing dating to the turn of the last century. Converted to a vacation home thirty years ago, it was just updated to make a comfortable vacation home for your stay.
Shackford Cove Cottage features unmatched views of Shackford Cove, with an ever changing view from deep water to just a trickle, always teaming with shore birds and the wrecks of ships from when Shackford Cove was home to four shipyards!
The home is one open space on the first floor, with glass sliding doors facing the deck with Shackford Cove beyond. The kitchen is fully furnished with a large fridge, gas stove, lots of cookware, and handmaid pine cabinets. The second floor is accessed by a steep, low ceilinged staircase typical for this era of home, but has two large, bright bedrooms for you to enjoy. The larger bedroom has been called the ‘captains Quarters’ since its inception, with a brand new queen bed, a nice sized storage closet, bureau, and a vintage rocking chair. The secondary bedroom pays homage to the previous owner with his collection of birding photographs as well as his photographs of Eastport from a decade ago. It has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress and several wall hooks for hanging. The upstairs bath is tucked in under the eaves with a tub shower combination and a small vanity as well as several storage cabinets.
The home has a propane heater on the first floor, an electric radiator in the bathroom, as well as two space heaters in the bedrooms. There are stand fans as well for the occasional warm day! There is no air conditioning.
This listing is only for the Shackford Cove Cottage by the water. The Shackford House directly on Water St. is a separate home and not available for guests.
You'll love staying at Shackford Cove Cottage because it's less than a 5-minute walk from downtown Eastport! You can easily explore the charming shops on Water St check out the amazing galleries, and grab a delicious bite to eat. It's the perfect location!
Parking is provided by taking the driveway between 9 Water Street and 11 Water Street / Crow Tracks all the way to the back where you will see a shingled cottage. This is a NARROW driveway but easily fits a standard size vehicle but an overly large SUV or RV would have to park on Water Street. If you do need to park a larger vehicle let us know and we can arrange with the owner of the front house for you to park in their space in front of the house and they will park in the driveway.
Airbnb has some restrictions, so we can't list the cottage as 9.5 Water St as it’s actually tucked behind 9 Water St. and offers a breathtaking view of Shackford Cove. The Shackford House is not available, but you can easily find your way to Shackford Cove Cottage through the very short path to the side of the house. It's a hidden gem that you won't want to miss! Especially with those views!
- "Property was beautiful" - "My husband and I, along with our two dogs, stayed for a couple nights in this adorable cottage. It has a spectacular view and sits right on the water. It is so quiet and serene, and you can walk around the neighborhood or downtown so easily. The kitchen is better than expected with updated appliances, and just about everything you need to make a nice meal (and a good amount of counter space). The cottage is well furnished inside and out with plenty of places to sit, and all choices are comfortable! I will 100% recommend this place to anyone headed this way. Things to keep in mind: -The parking situation is super tight, it is between two buildings, I don't recommend bringing too large of a vehicle. Or multiple vehicles depending on the size. -The bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor (for anyone with trouble climbing stairs). Thank you, Mia. We truly appreciate the accommodations! "

Relax in nature at this peaceful log cabin on the ocean. Perfect romantic getaway for couples or a great family friendly retreat!
This cozy log cabin is located *right* on the waterfront, only set back a few yards from the gorgeous views overlooking Canada's Deer Island.
Spend your days relaxing outside in the hammock or around the fire-pit, have a picnic on the rocks overlooking the water at high tide, or explore the wide variety of ocean critters that can be found at low tide.
The space
Welcome to our cozy ~800sq/ft log cabin that is rustic but comfortable and well stocked for a relaxing vacation on the waterfront.
First bedroom has a queen bed with a new high quality mattress so that you'll be sleeping comfortably during your stay. There is also small desk that can be used as a work area.
Second bedroom has twin bunkbeds, also with new high quality mattresses.
The living area is attached to the kitchen and is the perfect place to enjoy being with family or friends.
Full bathroom includes washer/dryer to make your stay all that more convenient.
On the front deck there's seating and a grill, since we think you'll probably want to do most of your cooking overlooking the gorgeous oceanfront views!
A fire-pit with seating and a hammock make the outdoor space a great place to be. We love sitting outside, watching the bald eagles fly by, and searching the water for whale sightings!
While the fireplace in the cabin is currently in need of some repairs and should not be used, there is a propane heater in the cabin that can be used on cooler nights and works very effectively to keep the cabin warm.
Downtown Eastport has restaurants, art galleries, and a fantastic candy shop that the kids will love. We are happy to provide recommendations for places to find good food or entertainment during your stay.
And just a reminder, the cabin is cozy, but RUSTIC! While we try to make the cabin as comfortable as possible for guests (and our family as well, as we are up every summer!), some guests have been surprised to find that the cabin isn’t squeaky clean and “rustic chic”, but actually just a log cabin built by hand out in the wilderness. If this doesn’t sound like the right fit for you or your group, *please* do not book with us. We always try to keep up with maintenance issues as they come up as quickly as possible (again, this is our family’s summer retreat as well so we want it to be an amazing spot to visit!), but minor issues sometimes have to wait until the end of the season to be dealt with. If minor inconveniences will ruin your vacation, then this is not the place for you. We want you to have a fantastic vacation, wherever you choose to stay - life is short and time together with loved ones is so valuable!
Guest access
You will have access to the entire cabin and 1 acre property, plus enjoy a very private space on the waterfront. Neighbors are few and quiet.
Other things to note
We get a lot of questions about accessibility for people with mobility issues. It's important to note that the driveway to the cabin is very steep. We do not recommend pulling into the driveway unless you have a reliable 4WD vehicle. There is a parking space at the top of the driveway that should be used for smaller cars, however, guests will then need to walk roughly 25ft down the sloped, crushed stone driveway before reaching the short staircase that leads down to the property.
Access to the water is fairly easy for all. There are two short paths from the lawn down to the rocks. The path closer to the fire-pit is fairly flat and easier to travel, and it will bring you down to a space on the rocks that we love to picnic on and swim from (if you can stand the cold water!).
Again, this is a rustic, built by hand cabin. We have a wonderful housekeeper, but due to the nature of the building itself, you will not find it completely spotless. We put money into it whenever we can (it’s our family’s summer getaway, so we want it to be as nice as possible!) but we can’t always keep up with minor problems. If you are bothered by minor inconveniences while on vacation (and we totally understand if you are - it’s your hard earned vacation after all!) then *please* do not book with us. The cabin is cozy and in a truly gorgeous spot, but it’s not for those who don’t like to “rough it” to some extent.

One of the best views on the island! The 2nd floor of this historic, waterfront Eastport building is a rustic loft in the heart of downtown Eastport. Built in 1863, the space has been fully renovated with a modern & industrial vibe.
Includes expansive views of Passamaquoddy Bay (including occasional whale, seal, and porpoise sightings!), Campobello Island, working lobster and scallop boats, and historic downtown Eastport.
The space
This is a loft-style apartment with one large room that includes sleeping, dining, kitchen, and living spaces. The bathroom is the only separate room.
NOTE: This is an old building. Uneven floors and two flights of steep stairs are part of the experience. If you struggle with either, this may not be the right place for you.
Guest access
You'll have full access to the 2nd floor and your own private deck.

Our family loves Eastport and the ocean . We dreamed of buying a home here and finally found the perfect home in November 2022
We own an Rv park in Medway Maine, approximately 120 miles from Eastport . We manage the park from May to October, so we decided to share this lovely home while we are working in Medway.
The home is newly furnished and decorated to reflect the seaside village of Eastport. It is comfortable and clean. We hope our guests will enjoy it and take care of it
The space
Welcome home to 44 High Street. This home is a quintessential New Englander which sits on over 1.5 acres in the heart of the island city of Eastport. Built by John Henward, a past Mayor of Eastport .
The 1st floor's living room and dining room/parlor receive sun year-round due to their southern exposure and the sea-breeze blowing through the bay windows
The charm of the house has been retained with original moldings, a clawfoot tub, and a beautiful stained glass window.
The back deck overlooks a natural area where deer and the occasional night heron can be seen.
If you would rather head out for a bite to eat, a musical performance, or just a scenic stroll, Eastport's historic downtown is a short walk away.
We do not allow pets although we love them. We live full time in the house over the winter with our 2 fur babies. They can tell other dogs have been in the house and they can react in a negative way, therefore we’ve chosen not to have other pets stay. Sorry for the inconvenience
Guest access
Our guests have access to everything except: owner’s bedroom, basement, pantry, garage and china cabinet in dining room
Other things to note
We have 2 guest rooms available
The larger room has a queen size bed a large closet and a small dresser
We have installed a portable air conditioner in this room . The air conditioner will cool the upstairs if the door is left open. Please turn this off when you leave.
The 2nd room is a small bedroom
It was designed for children with a bunk bed and a sleeping chair. I allow adults to sleep in this room, but it is small and may not be suitable
Beach access is at shackford state park 3 miles from the house
Also various public spaces around town

The Rumery Brothers building, located at 56 Water Street (downstairs commercial) and 6 Furniture Alley (upstairs residential) in downtown Eastport, Maine, is a historic building and an invaluable part of the city’s 30 building National Historic District. The two-story brick, stone and iron trim Italianate was built in 1887 and designed by architect, Henry Black, who designed two-thirds of the buildings in the District following the disastrous fire of October 14, 1886 that leveled the downtown and waterfront.
All structural repairs as well as the upstairs loft were completed in August 2024 after 8 months of setbacks and extensive preservation. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the GE Profile appliances are fitting for any chef. Cuisinart accessories and other must have kitchen essentials are all available. Eat under the locally crafted driftwood chandelier in the spacious dining area. Enjoy fresh linens and the benefits of the queen-sized copper infused mattress and pillows. A washer and dryer, as well as extra pillows, sheets, and blankets, are available. Relax in the spa inspired bathroom, enjoy a sea salt bath while connecting to the Bluetooth bathroom fixture.
