Welcome to our labor of love, ~The Balancing Rock Flat~. Nestled just off the shores of Shediac Bay and minutes from downtown Shediac and Parlee Beach. Our space is a perfect blend of modern comforts and functionality for all travellers alike.

We understand the importance of rest and wanted to create a space that would give others the opportunity to truly unwind. Our home is situated on an acre of land that is surrounded by trees and gardens. We hope you love it as much as we do!

We chose to create a very calming vibe. The two bedrooms are modestly decorated. We focused our efforts on ensuring our queen size beds are incredibly comfortable by offering 100% cotton sheets, along with a cozy and soft mattress cover that adds an extra level of comfort for those who appreciate it, along with different degrees of pillow firmness to ensure that everyone gets a pillow that is right for them. The couch in the living room pulls out into another queen size bed - there is also a luxurious mattress topper for this sleeping accommodation too. Although the dining room set is for four people, there are two comfortable stools located at our breakfast bar. The smart tv is ready to connect with any of your streaming accounts should you choose this. Our goal is to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, and if there is something that has been forgotten please don’t ever hesitate to reach out so that we can try and make things right!

The City of Shediac offers many excellent restaurants serving succulent seafood to tempt your palate, a corridor of lights at night, cafés, grocery stores, banks, parks, a water play area and interactive fountains for kids in the downtown park, walking and biking trails, a shopping center, a Neptune Drive-in, a sailing school, boutiques, art galleries, a Sunday farmer’s market, museums, golf clubs, cultural activities and festivals, such as the famous Shediac Lobster Festival in July, as well the World’s Largest Lobster sculpture.

Approximately 5 minutes away by car, you will be able to take a refreshing dip at the famous Parlee Beach Provincial Park, one of North America's finest beaches and home of the warmest salt water in Canada. With waters peaking at 24 degrees Celcius (75 degrees Fahrenheit), it is the warmest water north of Virginia. This park also includes a supervised swimming beach, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, football, a sand-sculpture competition, and daily scheduled sports activities.

Additionally, it was advertised as a non-smoking rental, but the unit had an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke from the moment we arrived. When we mentioned the smell to the host, they downplayed the issue, suggesting perhaps one person had smoked there. However, the strong, persistent odor made it clear this wasn’t a one-time occurrence. The conditions were unacceptable, and we felt misled by the listing. We ultimately chose to leave the next day. We contacted the host on multiple occasions but received no response."

Bella, a 7 year old Portuguese Waterdog, is my companion. She is hypoallergenic and has hair not fur. Therefore, she does not have a dog odour.

As a watercolorist, I teach watercolour painting lessons in my home, off season. The table space makes for a comfortable games/hobby/quilting/artistic set up to hone your craft.

Our home is one of the few heritage houses in the area and offers a lovely view of our flowers and gardens. This bright and beachy themed loft is located in a peaceful neighborhood, close to all that Shediac has to offer; 5-12 min walk to restaurants and shops and a 5 min drive to Parlee Beach. Moncton is also only 20 min away.

Our quaint 2 storey beach house, on a private lot, has a front veranda to enjoy your morning coffee and a very private back deck bathed in afternoon and evening sun.

Admire the gardens and pick whatever is in season, raspberries, grapes and veggies. Observe several species of birds such as chickadees, finches, song sparrows, pigeons, morning doves, blackbirds, swallows and, of course, seagulls!!! All from the back deck that has an umbrella covered patio table and chairs, picnic table, firepit and propane BBQ with all accessories.

Part of the yard is totally fenced in for your little ones to run around, 2 or 4 legged ones and privacy for the bigger ones to relax!!!

Our house is fully furnished and everything you need is here. From bedding, towels, hair dryer, beach towels, laundry detergent, shower gels to washer and dryer. Also, books, toys, DVD's and board games.

There is room for 6 guests to sleep, but the 3rd bed is the pull out sofabed in the livingroom. So the privacy is limited!! not to mention, although a new mattress on it, the sofa bed is definitely not the most comfy!!

All the basic ingredients to cook with such as salt, pepper, olive oil, drip coffee pot, Keurig coffeemaker, coffee pods, mustard, ketchup and spices.

Also dish detergent, kids dishes and if you bring your 4 legged family member(s)we have dishes and portable outdoor metal fencing, soft sided smaller one for the littlier pets, and beds for them all to relax on.

The back garden shed has some bikes (no helmets), coolers, beach blankets, beach toys, lawn toys, wood and chairs to relax in for your evening fires while admiring the starry sky.

A short walk down the cottage road to Parlee Beach and to connect to the walking/biking trails, which lead to the beach, the wharf, downtown Shediac or a trip around the perimeter of the town.

Our water comes from a well and the water pump is noisy when it's working for a few seconds. The well water is tested but the Hot water occasionally has a sulfur smell.

The cottage is a fully renovated rustic building. On rainy days or the next day, there is a small chance that you might see a couple of insects inside.

My home is a spacious single family dwelling with plenty of room, amenities and a view of the Northhumberland Strait. Situated on a 1-acre treed property, the deed holds a “right-of-way access” to the beach and creek.

Guests may enjoy a morning coffee with comfortable furnishings, sunlight rooms or sit outdoors in the screened-in pergola. The shaded front deck, overlooking the water, is a favourite spot for sipping afternoon refreshments to wind down the day.

If you are looking for a good night’s rest, you are in for a treat. Provided in the roomy master bedroom, is a heavenly king size bed with 3 piece ensuite. The guest room provides a relaxing queen size bed with the main bathroom (4 piece) across the hall. One premium single air bed is also available. If cooking is your pleasure, the well equipped kitchen, with island, will meet your needs. Included outdoors, is a quality Webber BBQ.

The sunroom poses as a cozy living room area for quiet mornings as you watch the birds feasting at their feeders.

There are two wall heating/air conditioner exchange units. One in the main living space and one in the master bedroom, both have separate controls. Each room also has electric wall heat as a back up source.

Bella, a 7 year old Portuguese Waterdog, is my companion. She is hypoallergenic and has hair not fur. Therefore, she does not shed or have a dog odour.

As a watercolorist, I teach watercolour painting lessons in my home, off season. The table space makes for a comfortable games/hobby/quilting/artistic set up to hone your craft.

The unit has a "Smart" Deadbolt on it that you will use the last 4 digits of your phone number provided at booking to access the unit.

All four bedrooms are on the second floor, with beautiful water views, and have air conditioning for those warm summer nights. There are two queen beds and two double beds. All linens and bedding is there for your use, as well as towels for the shower in the spacious full bathroom on the main floor.
