The bathroom was stunning - heated floors, and the shower was the most technologically advanced thing I've ever seen - We were on our way to Nordic Spa, so I didn't try the shower, but my friend said it was amazing. Our hostess kindly left us yummy breakfast items, and there was tea and coffee. Our only regrets were from our end...we tried our best to scrape our boots well before entering, and had there been a sink available (other than the bathroom sink) we would would have tidied up better - so we felt guilty about tracking a bit of gravel and leaving dishes."

This vacation home was custom designed and built in 2023. The main floor is bright with a soaring wall of windows to maximize the breathtaking views. The open concept modern kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances. The large island is great for gathering and connecting with family and friends. The smart TV is installed on a swivel so it can be viewed from the kitchen island or the living room. Warm up and relax by the European designed wood stove.

The second floor has a primary bedroom with a king size bed, floor to ceiling windows, and room darkening curtains. Wake up to the sound of the lapping waves and a view like you're on the water.
The main bathroom has a rainfall shower with body jets and a Japanese inspired toilet/bidet.

The third floor is the loft which can be converted to a bedroom with a king size bed or 2 twin beds. This space has two 9 foot sliding doors that walk out onto the rooftop terrace complete with 4 luxurious lounge chairs. There is also a small office space on the third floor.

The house has been transformed from the charming coastal lore of a bootlegger’s harbour home to a couples retreat designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings. The open-concept living space features floor-to-ceiling windows, providing a seamless connection between the interior and the outdoors. Priority was granted to a spa-like bathroom, with a glass shower for two. While the house is small, it has been opened up from 4 original rooms to one large living space, transforming into the Queen sized bedroom at night with a hideaway murphy bed. It works much like a studio apartment, with epic views.

The site is not shared with other houses and guests will enjoy complete use of the property to themselves. Access to the shore is a few steps further into the harbour, at the public wharf access.

This home, sauna, and property are for the full enjoyment of the guests, and guests alone. Any areas of the yard which are maintained (grass cut, etc.) are viable for guest use. Those areas which are not maintained designate areas that guests are not safe to enjoy. Mostly those are areas near the cliff edge, on the lower terrace, and the rear of the property.
Access to the shore is a few steps further into the harbour, at the public wharf access.

This residence is positioned with a picturesque view of Baxters Harbour, which occasionally draws tourists to its shores. While staying on the premises, guests should be mindful that they may be visible to passersby, and thus, all interactions and conduct should be discreet. To maintain privacy, it's advisable to keep curtains closed when necessary, and guests must wear appropriate clothing at all times while in the sauna.

We make our home available to others when we're not occupying it. It's not primarily our vacation rental; instead, it holds a special significance to us. We designed and built it ourselves, and it is our forever home which we are temporarily offering out. We kindly ask that you treat it as you would your own.

Only about a dozen houses are located in the harbour, and we cherish our connections within this community. Please represent our home as outstanding ambassadors.

Instructions on using the appliances, including the pizza oven and sauna, as well as guidelines for operating the house, will be provided to you. Please acquaint yourself with these instructions if you decide to utilize these features.

To make use of the small footprint, the Queen bed offered is a Murphy bed, and the living area converts into a sleeping space at night. The large glass walls become covered with curtains to ensure privacy.

Fibre internet is provided at the house, however there is no TV. If you need screen time, please remember to bring your own device.

The harbour provides opportunities to bring kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, enjoy picnics on the ocean floor, hike along the shoreline to Black Hole Harbour, venture to the base of the waterfall, and capture numerous iconic photographic moments. The surrounding region is renowned for lobster, hiking, fishing, waterfalls, wineries, artistic culture, and a plethora of exceptional dining establishments.

Nestled privately within a hemlock forest, you will discover a peaceful hideaway a mere 7 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Wolfville. For more than two years we have lovingly restored a derelict horse barn into a beautiful guest house and multi-purpose space. The land and nearby burbling stream invite you to slow down, unwind, and recharge.

Spacious and cozy at the same time, The Barn has been designed for adaptability. The main level contains the kitchen, living room, woodstove, dining area, and bathroom, while the loft offers a queen-sized bed, a comfy reading chair, and writing desk. One corner of the downstairs space has been left “blank” to save room for rolling out a yoga mat (or 2!), setting up musical instruments, an easel, playpen, or whatever you choose to incorporate into your time with us.

The kitchen has a gas cooking range/oven and a full sized fridge. It is fully set up with everything you need to make a delicious meal…including sharp knives! Also included are the basic necessities, such as olive oil, salt and pepper, spices, and all the basic cooking tools/equipment. We will also provide local coffee and a selection of tea.

The bathroom is comfortable and spacious and has a full sized shower. It also has a very clean and simple wood shavings composting toilet. How appropriate for a barn! Clear instructions are provided so you may easily use the system. This choice has been made with environmental stewardship in mind to reduce water consumption and responsibly manage the waste generated on the property. Thank you for supporting this!

All dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. are provided to protect the environment and our gray water drainage system. We request that you do not use any toiletries that are not biodegradable or environmentally friendly.

Outside of The Barn itself, you will find a sunny sitting area on the back lawn, a fire pit in what used to be the old paddock, and several small, meandering paths that wind along the stream and past some of our favourite trees on the land. The property is part of the greater corridor of remaining hemlock habitat that runs along parts of the Gaspereau Valley, including the very large and beautiful trees at the Wolfville Watershed Park, the Gaspereau River Trail, and several other small remaining stands. Having access to forest right out your back door is a true gift and has been the main inspiration of opening our property for others to experience. The land here is gentle, yet powerful and you can relax knowing that the entire property is surrounded by forest with no other houses or neighbours nearby.

The only creatures you may encounter while you wander the woods are our family, including one very friendly dog, and the resident squirrels, chipmunks, birds, raccoons, owls...and if you're lucky, the wily fox who has been known to nonchalantly stroll right past the barn in broad day light. It is his backyard, after all....not ours!

This is a stand alone building, tucked away and separate from the house. You have the whole space with all of its amenities. It is very private and has everything you need to be comfortable. You also have access to the walking trails along the hemlock ravine, following along an active stream.

Raven Hill Suite is the lower level under Raven Hill Cottage (rented separately). The suite has a separate, private entrance on the side of the home (exterior stairs required to descend into the suite).

The cottage is over 100 years old and was originally on a different location on the property. The current owners removed the cottage from it's crumbling foundation and moved it to a new location on the property which allowed them to build this gorgeous, fresh space below the cottage for guests.
We are excited to host you, but we have some expectations to allow us to continue to host you and other guests happily and safely.
1. This is a self-check-in property. By booking, you understand that you can do this (operate a lockbox and/or smart lock), make sure you check the house manual for instructions. We are happy to help if you have trouble.
2. We expect to find the home in the same condition you found it - without damage, without missing items, and without the excessive mess. Also, without furniture moved. If you must move furniture, please move it back before you leave, as we often have staff cleaning a property alone and therefore cannot safely move the furniture back. Plus this is a common courtesy since you’re staying in our home.
3. Under no circumstances will parties or events be hosted in the home; violation of this rule can result in your full damage deposit not being returned and/or even immediate removal without a refund. We encourage you to gather with friends and family to play games, laugh, etc but please be mindful of the associated house rules.
4. Quiet hours begin at 10 pm on weekdays and 11 pm on weekends. This quiet time is best described as: being quiet on the floors if units below are in use, music at a minimum and loud conversations are not permitted.
5. The occupancy limit noted on our listing is not to be exceeded whether it’s visitors or guests staying the night.
6. Absolutely no smoking of cigarettes, cannabis or use of hookahs at the property. If you choose to use a vape, please do so outside the home.
7. To reduce wear and tear or serious damage, we request footwear is removed while in the home.

To be more environmentally conscious and reduce the amount of waste from staining, we request that you use the gray face cloths provided to remove makeup and/or use during any part of your hygiene routine that may cause staining. 9. Checkout time is by 11 am; please ensure you are checked out at that time, as our cleaners will arrive at 11:15 am. If you disrespect this rule, it can impact our staff and the incoming guest; you may be charged for the ramifications of your actions. Hilltop Hideaway is a fully furnished home tucked away on a hill within the Town of Kentville. There is a private outdoor living space with outdoor dining and ample parking in the ​circular driveway. Located just across the street from the Harvest Moon hiking trail, bike paths, sports arena, tennis courts, swimming pool with splash pad, and playgrounds. The home is directly across from a local public school and minutes away from NSCC and Valley Regional Hospital.

The space
Attached to a unique 200-year-old captain's house in the lovely little village of Canning, the studio apartment has heated floors downstairs and beautiful wooden walls and floors in the upstairs loft with a single bed, a double futon and a futon couch downstairs. There is not a full kitchen, but we do provide a coffee maker, microwave, convection oven and little fridge. With artist owners living in the main house, it is perfect place to explore the Annapolis Valley, with a 5 minute drive to the beach, close to hiking /snowshoeing/cross country ski trails, plus close to the delightful university town of Wolfville. With a little fire pit in the backyard, guests are welcome to enjoy our yard and deck with hammock in summer and the cozy amenities in winter.

Generally the studio is meant to be self sufficient for a brief stay and there is no need to be in the main private house.

Other things to note
For longer stays we do require access to the laundry which is in the studio bathroom, but will always check for an appropriate time. Because of our pets, it is not suitable for people with allergies - we do our best with getting rid of their hair, but it is like terrible magic that reappears the moment before a guest arrives! There is no smoking of any kind either in the yard or in the studio, and we ask that there aren't extra guests visiting or parties in the studio.

We are located near the Trans Canada Trail and within walking distance to Middleton for all you essential needs. Winter time is also very beautiful in this area. the Trans Canada Trail offers 100's of miles of groomed trails for snowmobiling, and A lovely shorter trail with a bridge crossing the river for walking, cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Snowshoes are available through the Town of Middleton if interested in renting, check the Town of Middleton website for more information.

Our small community is nestled along the Bay and is a quick 12 minute drive to the Annapolis Valley where all amenities can be located. Unfortunately there are no restaurants in Margaretsville but there are a number of surrounding communities offering a variety of restaurants or you enjoy a picnic or can pick up snacks on the way to store in your mini fridge. You will love strolling the quiet streets, and with every step, another spectacular view can be enjoyed. My husband was born and raised in Margaretsville and can share tales of the vibrant fishing village it once was. Our property is under 45 minutes away from Wolfville, offering top tier wineries, under 1.5 hours from Lunenburg, a charming coastal town, and under 2 hours from Halifax.

We have a pool and deck with a BBQ in season that we will share. We are close to popular hiking / snowshoeing trails ,wineries and shopping.
