The High Tide Suite has a separate entrance in the property, and is upstairs in the guest house (8 steps). High Tide is a spacious and comfortable open plan suite with a king size bed, seating area with sofa bed, private bathroom, dining area with dining table seating four, kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee and tea making facilities - no cooker). High Tide also has a beautiful balcony with seating for four, fabulous views of the Bay of Fundy and is a special spot to enjoy the amazing sunsets.

The famous Hall's Harbour Lobster Pound restaurant is just five minutes walk from Tides Inn, along with the local gift shops (all open seasonally May - Oct 31). Hall's Harbour beach is a five-minute walk where you can see the highest tides in the world! Just 15 minutes from Kentville and 25 minutes from Wolfville, Tides Inn allows our guests the comfort of a beautiful room and accessibility to the local places to visit. Check out Hall's Harbour and Baxter's Harbour waterfalls and hikes, or venture to the nearby Cape Split trail, or even in winter our local cross-country ski/snow shoe trails. Any time of year is a good time to visit the local Annapolis Valley Farmers Markets, Wineries or peruse the shops and restaurants in nearby Wolfville and Kentville.

The place was SPOTLESS, and the view from the bed was lovely. (being a bit of an insomniac, I enjoyed the lights of the fishing boats out on the water from the comfort of the bed). We didn't use the sweet little deck (winter) but the view would have been lovely there too. The bathroom was stunning - heated floors, and the shower was the most technologically advanced thing I've ever seen - We were on our way to Nordic Spa, so I didn't try the shower, but my friend said it was amazing. Our hostess kindly left us yummy breakfast items, and there was tea and coffee. Our only regrets were from our end...we tried our best to scrape our boots well before entering, and had there been a sink available (other than the bathroom sink) we would would have tidied up better - so we felt guilty about tracking a bit of gravel and leaving dishes."

Hilltop Hideaway is a fully furnished home tucked away on a hill within the Town of Kentville. There is a private outdoor living space with outdoor dining and ample parking in the ​circular driveway. Located just across the street from the Harvest Moon hiking trail, bike paths, sports arena, tennis courts, swimming pool with splash pad, and playgrounds. Our home has direct access to the Harvest moon trailway that travels 110kms through the Annapolis Valley, a short walk to Coldbrook Provincial Park and The Kentville Bird Sanctuary. Our home is 2mins from the highway and 20mins to the Bay of fundy. A 15min drive to Acadia University and we're near many microbreweries and vineyards.

The space
Attached to a unique 200-year-old captain's house in the lovely little village of Canning, the studio apartment has heated floors downstairs and beautiful wooden walls and floors in the upstairs loft with a single bed, a double futon and a futon couch downstairs. There is not a full kitchen, but we do provide a coffee maker, microwave, convection oven and little fridge. With artist owners living in the main house, it is perfect place to explore the Annapolis Valley, with a 5 minute drive to the beach, close to hiking /snowshoeing/cross country ski trails, plus close to the delightful university town of Wolfville. With a little fire pit in the backyard, guests are welcome to enjoy our yard and deck with hammock in summer and the cozy amenities in winter.

Generally the studio is meant to be self sufficient for a brief stay and there is no need to be in the main private house.

Other things to note
For longer stays we do require access to the laundry which is in the studio bathroom, but will always check for an appropriate time. Because of our pets, it is not suitable for people with allergies - we do our best with getting rid of their hair, but it is like terrible magic that reappears the moment before a guest arrives! There is no smoking of any kind either in the yard or in the studio, and we ask that there aren't extra guests visiting or parties in the studio.

Unfortunately there are no restaurants in Margaretsville but there are a number of surrounding communities offering a variety of restaurants or you enjoy a picnic or can pick up snacks on the way to store in your mini fridge. You will love strolling the quiet streets, and with every step, another spectacular view can be enjoyed. My husband was born and raised in Margaretsville and can share tales of the vibrant fishing village it once was. Our property is under 45 minutes away from Wolfville, offering top tier wineries, under 1.5 hours from Lunenburg, a charming coastal town, and under 2 hours from Halifax.
