It was in the 90s while we were there but the cabin stayed cool despite there being no a/c. We stayed two nights it was a quick but great getaway. It's a wonderful porch and spacious cabin for 2. The kitchen is the best outfitted kitchen I have ever been in for a VRBO property. Everything was organized and easy to find. Beds comfy. Birds were active and entertaining to watch in the morning on that porch (again!) while having morning coffee. Love this spot. Love the cabins here."

Lake Creek Lodge has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Camp Sherman. It is the most private of the cabins. French doors facing east and south provide wonderful light any time of year and open onto a wrap around deck. The river is steps away and the resort offers an expansive lawn providing unobstructed access for guests, so grab our lawn chairs and have a picnic or a glass of wine.

The cabin features two private bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom has a queen bed and one has a double bed, both have comfortable memory foam mattresses. Each bedroom has a window seat for naps. The cabin bathroom is upstairs and an extra vanity in the hallway ensures no one is left waiting.

The main level features a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances and supplies cooks will love. A comfortable leather couch, easy chair and bent wood rocking chair surround the river rock fireplace. To keep you entertained and connected, the cabin has satellite TV, CD and DVD players, and wireless internet. There is an extensive library of books for all ages and plenty of games, puzzles, and arts and crafts supplies to engage the entire family. And, don’t forget the hiking, fishing, skiing….

Cozy rustic modern cabin in Camp Sherman. 30 night minimum booking per Jefferson County law. Perfect for personal or artist/writer retreats. Located at the Bar L Ranch, a private and peaceful 20 acre property in Camp Sherman, Oregon (1 hour NW of Bend). This cabin is one of four cabins located at the Bar L Ranch. Very quiet and serene natural setting surrounded by the Deschutes National Forest and just one mile from the Metolius River. Enjoy hikes, stargazing, serenity, just outside the door.

The space
Cabin is thoughtfully designed with details such as handmade artwork and pottery, and antiques. The cabin space is about 300 square feet and has a beautiful view of the meadow and surrounding forest. It’s fully insulated (winterized) and includes one bedroom with queen bed (sleeps 2), attached bathroom, kitchen, propane heat, electricity, and wireless satellite internet. The bedroom has a queen size bed with a very comfortable memory foam mattress, crisp cotton sheets, and a duvet comforter. The bathroom is well equipped with towels, shampoo, and a warm shower. The updated kitchen includes a stovetop, microwave/convection oven, sink, small refrigerator, and is equipped for basic cooking. The cabin also includes a closet and a small dining/work table.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire "Cabin 3.” You also are free to enjoy the meadow and picnic area down by the creek. If you need access to laundry or extra fridge/freezer space, you are welcome to use the laundry room attached to the main house (near main house porch). The keyless entry code is the same as your cabin. There are several additional cabins, patio areas and outbuildings on the ranch, but they are rented separately or reserved for family use.

Please note: We will potentially allow one dog, upon review, but we cannot allow cats due to allergies.

Internet Service: We have wireless Starlink Satellite internet. The average download speed is 50 mbps average and the average upload speed is 9.75 Mpbs. The ranch works great for those who work online, however if you have a lot of important video meetings then it is likely not a great fit for you as it can freeze for a few seconds due to trees that cause obstructions. Also it can be unpredictable, so if it goes down, contact us and please be patient. There is a co-working space (Fika) that is about 25 minutes away, in the town of Sisters.

Cell Service: Many but not all cell carriers have access here, so please check with your carrier. If your cell service has access, you might want to look into a hot spot just in case the internet is down.

Phone: We have a shared landline phone for the entire ranch, so keep in mind it is not private.

When we are home on the ranch (staying in a different cabin), there may be a small french bulldog as well as various family members.

Some of the other cabins are also rented through Airbnb, so you may have neighbors.

Sometimes people and dogs visit us.

This is an old country cabin. While we try very hard to prevent mice, this is a bad year for mice, so please be aware.

WINTER ACCESS: The property is 8 miles off the highway and mostly paved except for the last 1/8 mile. The roads are plowed and generally, you should be able to get here during the winter, in almost all cases. However, we do advise guests carry chains during the winter, especially over the mountain pass. 4WD or AWD is not totally necessary although can be very nice to have in the winter months as the last 1/8 mile can get quite muddy. The heat is propane, so there is always heat should the power go out during a winter storm, however, the blower will stop working. The power company is generally very good about getting the power back on quickly, although we can't predict the future. In the event of a heavy and major snowstorm, although rare, it is possible to be snowed in, so we do recommend you have extra food and water for a few days. If you are traveling during the winter, we always suggest being prepared. Let us know if you have questions about how to prepare for winter travel.

The vintage home is in a rural small town and is long loved and cherished. The upstairs suite includes two bedrooms. One (I call Americana for its Native decor) has a full sized bed. The Heritage Room (old European) has a queen bed and an adjoining room with twin beds. The bathroom has tub and shower. Mini fridge, microwave, tea kettle, tea and paper products for your use as well as games and books. Fresh coffee available downstairs in the morning by request. Make yourselves at home!

The space
The farm style house was built in 1915 at a time when the now small City of Metolius was booming. The built-ins and lots of wood trim add to its charm. Large fenced in yard for your pup or children to play safely. The city park across the street offers playground and picnic areas. Lake Billy Chinook and Smith Rock are nearby for amazing outdoor experiences.
