You'll fall in love with the main level's floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river, as well as its high vaulted ceilings, comfy furnishings, and all-wood interior. Inside the custom built 1929 you will find beautiful built-ins, Russian white oak hardwoods, and an upgraded chef's kitchen. Dr. Hyde was a beloved local family physician that built and lived in the home for many years. Connected to the kitchen is some tableside seating as well as some space at the bar. The main living room has additional dining room seating as well as a cozy place to relax after a day of adventures or just because. The entire room is bathed in natural light and incredible views. When it is time to relax, throw on a record and read one of your favorites in the attached library.

Also on the main floor is a spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a king bed. The entire home is filled with countless antiques, artwork, and custom pieces to create the perfect blend of character and comfort.

Ascending upstairs there are a couple different sections of the house. One has two additional bedrooms along with a full bath nearby. For more sleeping flexibility there is a twin day bed just outside the bedrooms which is perfect for kiddos or young adults.

The other upstairs section of the home is perfect for fun and entertainment. There is a large couch and a huge TV to enjoy countless streaming options. If you are looking for a little competitive enjoyment there is a pool table, dart board, and putting mat for the group or family to thoroughly enjoy together.

Descending downstairs you will find a lower level that is quite special. Besides the laundry and some facilities related stuff, there is a final sleeping area that is a haven for the kiddos. The room has multiple twin beds as well as a twin over twin bunk. There is some comfortable seating and TV for streaming. The teepee is always a hit as well.

As you can tell, this home was furnished a level of thought and care to facilitate most any group or family have a truly special time. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring the interior of the house.

- "Have been driving through The Dalles for over 40 years but had never spent a night there. Struck gold on this first ever three-night stay. The house was amazing. The dining room, living room, library and bar area were masterfully preserved retaining the original ambiance of a luxurious home built in 1929. Despite this, we spent almost all of our time on the wrap around deck from sunrise to well past sunset. The kitchen was updated with top shelf appliances and gear. Cooked and barbequed two meals and went out once. Ate all meals on the deck. Went to museums, wine-tasting rooms, wineries and shopping and never had to drive more than 10 miles from the house with most locations less than 4 miles. Oh, one more thing--the view was spectacular."

We welcome you to enjoy our newly built peaceful home overlooking the Columbia Gorge. The patio provides a beautiful daytime view of the Columbia Gorge and mountains as well as a twinkling nighttime view of the city. This slice of heaven is located in The Gorge near restaurants, breweries, hiking, fishing, rafting, and kiteboarding . 8 minutes to the marina if you would like to bring a boat. Please note that there is a steep driveway to get to our street.

I had a couple of questions during our stay and Tracy always responded right away. It was a lovely home with a large, well-stocked kitchen including double-ovens which we did end up using a couple of times over our three-day stay. The deck has a great view of the Columbia River and The Dalles Dam; however, we could not enjoy sitting outside because of the noise from the freeway and also the wind (which we knew could be a possibility since we're all from the area). No worries, though, as the wall of windows in the living room and pool room worked just as well to enjoy the scenery (windows could use a wash, though). Speaking of the downstairs pool room - we also made use of the pool table while listening to oldies through the t.v. We did not use the hot tub so I cannot comment on that. All in all, a great stay and I would book this one again but a few smaller items need to be addressed: a few of the remotes need new batteries (upstairs fan, windspeed indicator on kitchen window sill, downstairs fireplace), the air intake grate could use a cleaning, the blinds were not the easiest to get up and down, the shower curtain in the hall bath upstairs kept coming off of the hooks and the master bath shower curtain was too short allowing water to escape onto the tile floor. Great views of the river and the kids loved getting daily visits from local deer. Wherever your days take you, this bright, updated home is a delight to return to. - "We were working on a job out of town, and rather than stay in hotels, we decided to try out Vrbo. It worked out great. it was nice to have a "home" to come to at night and a place to cook meals. Very comfortable and after getting up the stairs, easy for someone with limited movement to get around nice large spaces. The space
The Steeple View Studio is the upper level unit in the 1890 brick addition to Herbring House. It has it's own entry accessed from the back deck on the north side of the property.

There are four sets of stairs to get to the unit from the 4th street entrance. Two flights down and then two back up. This may be a problem for some people with mobility issues or especially heavy luggage.

It's worth the climb with 12 ft ceilings, canopy bed and historic features.

Guest access
Access to the Steeple View Studio is via 2 exterior staircases on right side of home. Entrance is 2nd door on shared deck adjacent to brick building and has a "Steeple Studio" sign by the door. There is a lock box on the right side of the door chest high.

Other things to note
Stairs- There are multiple stair cases to access the Steeple View Studio. Two flights down and two flights up which may be hard for some people. Especially if they have heavy luggage.

This 100 year old home has a glassed in sunroom, original woodwork, hardwood floors & plenty of space to spread out. Natural gas heat keeps this house toasty in the winter and nice cool AC keeps things cool in the summer. Cat and occasionally dog on premises.

The space
One of two available guest rooms in 100 year old comfortable craftsman walking distance to historic The Dalles. A few minute walk will get you to eateries, wineries, music and more.

The two guestrooms share a bathroom on the first floor of the house. The bathroom is not used by the homeowner, but will be shared in the event that both guest rooms are booked!

I do have a very sweet, affectionate, and funny medium-sized 5 year old dog, and a one year old cat who comes and goes! A 1913 simple craftsman home, that had been remodeled in the 1950’s and they gave it ANOTHER front door! So now it makes sense, and guests have a private entrance. We are offering a bedroom (best room in our house) with a bay window overlooking a garden, and a side view of a nearby river. We are on a bluff close to the river, and you can wake up with a view of the river!
In addition, the rental has a nicely remodeled big bathroom with a round corner shower and double sinked vanity, for those busy mornings.
A small refrigerator is stocked with water for those hot days.

The space
This apartment is the daylight basement of our home. It has a private entrance and is private from the rest of our home. It's large and roomy, and we've furnished it with comfortable country charm. Wood and tile floors throughout, except in the bedroom which is newly carpeted. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, cookware, several small appliances, cook top, microwave/convection oven, a refrigerator, and a few staples for cooking. There is no dishwasher, but paper plates can be used if you'd rather not wash dishes. The bedroom is large, and the queen bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is small, but functional, and you don't have to share it with anyone! The family room is large but cozy, and is equipped with a large-screen smart TV, with cable. Wi-fi is available. The futon sofa in the family room easily makes up into a full sized bed. There is also a queen-sized air mattress available. The yard is large and well-maintained, and the apartment has a brick patio from which to enjoy the scenery and the wildlife.

The camper can fit four people, however it would be better equipped for two adults and two children. Four adults would be pretty tight. Two vehicles max please.

Please note that while the property is located on a quiet country road 90% of the time, you will experience extra road traffic during cherry harvest season in June and July, as well as during the flower farm’s open hours.

Twin Oaks is an updated doublewide home perched on a basalt knoll with 11 beautiful acres overlooking vineyards and the Columbia River. Views include river and gorge to the west and north. In springtime see waterfalls on the Washington cliffs.
Located 8 miles east of Hood River, Twin Oaks is near Mosier on scenic Hwy 30. This is in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, with nearby hiking, biking, watersports, boat ramp, & ski areas. Enjoy the numerous wineries and local microbrews in the area.

The space
Twin Oaks house is 1800 square feet, one-level, 3 bedroom, 2 bath. This is an 80's doublewide; but don't worry, shag carpet is gone and the wallpaper is painted over. We are gradually updating and improving it, and it's a very clean and comfortable space now. Let's call it an artsy cabin ambiance with touch of Ikea.

Guest access
A key code will be provided before check-in. The whole house is available for your use. There is ample parking for several vehicles and room to park and maneuver a boat or trailer if you're towing. Lots of storage space for your gear. Locked storage can be arranged with advanced notice.

Other things to note
There are games, puzzles, and books in the sitting/reading room. Wifi internet is provided. TV antenna picks up a few local broadcasts and the SmartTV logs into our Amazon Prime account. We don't have subscription Youtube, Netflix, or Hulu but the tv will show them as well as other streaming services if you want to log into your account.

In addition to the listed beds, a foldup bed is in one of the closets if you want your child to sleep in your room. A Pack n Play is provided and it can be converted to a crib. Bring your own crib mattress and bedding.

Your privacy is important. There are zero surveillance cameras on the property or in the house.

The cabin lies on 1 acre property and has convenient access from a well maintained road. Situated on a slope it makes for beautiful views especially from the the upstairs bedroom. There is ample storage in both bedrooms, with a queen size bed in one and 2 twin size beds in the other. There is a pull out couch, should you need it, in the living room and a bath with shower or on each floor. The cabin has a full kitchen, a wood stove, and the A/C will keep you cool and comfortable in the summer.

Welles Manor is a special place that is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. Within walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, and parks. Welles Manor has 8 separate apartments, one of which is a private two-bedroom on the second floor with beautiful garden views. Two comfortable Queen beds, 55” smart TV, cozy loveseat, fully equipped kitchen, shower/bathtub, and many luxurious amenities. WM has two additional one bedroom apartments offered through Airbnb.

The space
Welles Manor is a Victorian built in the early 1900’s, on a half acre with a large fenced garden area. There is eight separate and private apartment for long and short term rentals. The garden area is a shared space and offers a relaxing area to barbecue or relax and read a book. Barbecue and outdoor dining with colorful night lighting and fire pit is offered.

Welles Manor offers a private off street parking area. Once parked enter the property thru the white fence. There is a second gate for the garden area, or you can enter the building through the front porch doorway. We offer two one-bedroom and one two-bedroom apartments through Airbnb.

Other things to note
From time to time you may see other occupants in the garden area as it is a shared space. We have a few tenants with dogs that also enjoy the garden area. We have both long term tenants and short term through AirBnBs. Our house rules are simple (posted in your apartment); quiet time is from 10:00pm to 9:00am, follow Airbnb rules, respect your neighbors and no indoor parties.
