We chose to share our guest house primarily because the idea of sharing our stunning view appeals to us very much. We are so fortunate to have a view so special that we wanted to build a guest house for our friends and you!

We designed our 600 square foot modern guest house with the intent of creating a very private honeymoon suite.

It sits on concrete sonotubes about 18 feet up off the ground. The goal was to create a treehouse affect that evokes a visceral response as you hover above the trees looking out at the stunning views.

It has expansive views of Hood River, Mt Hood, and our favorite view, looking directly down the gorge.

Our guest house is accessed by a 30 foot long steel bridge.

Our guest house is very private, but is located near our house, so there are some rules that it is very important that are followed.
Guests may only have one vehicle. Guests must park their vehicle on the left side of main house (east side). Maximum of two people at guest house unless owner makes an exception.

If you desire incredible views, modern architecture, and a very quiet location, I think you will really enjoy the experience.

You are welcome to ask about staying for less than our 3 day minimum. Often there is less than three days between guests already booked, so we can send you a special booking request if you email asking for these shorter stays between existing bookings. We are also more receptive to shorter visits mid week, and last minute requests.

This little house started life as a woodworking shop. When we outgrew it, we made it into a guest house. It may be imperfect, but it's perfectly adorable. We have a little peek of Mt. Hood from the yard. The territorial views are lovely. At night, you can enjoy the beauty of a Milky Way sky far from city light pollution.

SETTING
Situated on five acres near the main house, in a quiet rural neighborhood, this bright, cheery space is about 10 minutes, (5.5 miles) from White Salmon's charming pubs, restaurants, shops, and grocery. Hood River is about 20 minutes (10 miles) away - just a short hop across the Hood River toll bridge ($3.50)*. It's a restful country retreat or a practical home-base for your Gorge adventures or business travel. It's a quiet spot great for relaxing and as a home-base for Gorge adventures, but if you want to be in the thick of things or you want more immediate access to the river and main highway, it's probably not the best choice. Many people feel the location is perfect; please consider whether it is perfect for you before booking.

PARKING
Parking is at the end of the driveway and is marked. We keep 2 spaces available for guests and can make more available if needed. We have had guests with fishing boats, motorcycle trailers, and RVs.

LAYOUT
The house consists of two large rooms with a connecting open doorway. One side includes the living and dining areas, and kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, and built-in electric oven with stove. The second side contains the sleeping area, bathroom, closet/laundry. The sleeping area has a queen bed, small dresser, bedside stand, and curtain, which allows for bedroom privacy while maintaining bathroom access for all. There is no door on the bedroom, which may not be ideal for those with infants, small children, or snoring issues. The floors are laminate, ceramic, and vinyl composite tile.

BEDS
Although the space is ideal for two people sharing the queen-size bed, a queen-sized Murphy bed is installed in the dining area of the large room, and two single cots or cot mattresses are available upon request. If you want to use the Murphy bed, we will adjust the position of the dining table and chairs so everything will fit. We also have a Pack 'n Play play yard with a full-size removable bassinet. The bassinet weight limit is 15 pounds; the play yard has a weight limit of 30 pounds. Please let us know what you need BEFORE arriving so we can set it up for you.. WORKSPACE
An office chair, a desk with a lamp, and a color laser printer are in the large room. The printer is set up on the wireless network but a 10-foot USB printer cable is included in case of connection difficulties.

NATURE
You may hear coyotes at night or doves cooing in the trees. Nature is all around us. If the sight of a daddy-long-legs fills you with fright, best not to stay here.

Eye On The Gorge is perched on the edge of the Columbia Gorge with a private hot tub. A most perfect escape for adventures in the gorge.

This modern and cozy, 1600 square foot home has central A/C, hot tub, BBQ, wifi and comfortable patio furniture. Furnishings and decor were recently updated.

The home is single level with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a new King Bed and private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed as well as a twin bed. There is a full bathroom in the hall.

The living room has a smart TV.

The beds are all made with luxury linens, crisp warm duvets, and new mattresses. Spa soap, shampoo, and a few other small amenities are included to help you 'get by' if you forget your own supply. A private hot tub and large deck with BBQ and comfortable patio furniture, with umbrella, allow you to relax and enjoy the view and four seasons.

This home has central A/C for hot summer days and cozy furnace for cool winter days.
