Relax with your entire family at our custom remodeled home on Lake Claiborne! Meticulously crafted by a custom home builder with all 4 seasons in mind. 2 master suites & 2 bunk rooms for a total of 18 beds (sleeps 24). Our lakeside home has all the amenities, including: private boat launch and fishing piers, private trail bridge, large fire pit, hot tub, picnic pavilion, ping pong table, kayaks, paddle boards and enjoy your favorite ballgames on the outdoor tv on our 80’ back porch!

On a cul-de-sac at the end of the road, Cypress Edge has a unique look. Cypress wood with `live edge` surrounds our spacious Lakehouse. Two master suites with private bathrooms that each boast a free standing tub as well as a walk in shower. Both master suites have doors to outside, with one having its own private porch. Two large bunk rooms that sleep 10 in each (2 doubles & 6 twins in each bunk room). Room for multiple families to join together for the perfect lake vacation! UPDATE: We have broken ground on our second rental, Cypress Bungalow, just next to Cypress Edge that will sleep 10-12. Rent them both or separate, depending on your family or group size. The Bungalow also has a fully covered RV pad with all hookups. No RV? Then park 3-4 vehicles in the 50’ by 16’ covered area. Can you say we have OPTIONS?! YES! Look for the new photos in the space labeled `Exterior 2` to see the proximity of the Bungalow to Cypress Edge. They are separated by the rock driveway down to the private boat launch (to be shared by both houses) on the water.

Guest have access to the main house and the grounds in front of it leading to the lake, as well as the wooded peninsula that our bridge leads to. Map of the property will be provided at the home for reference. The only areas not accessible are the two storage buildings, boat house, and the neighboring Cypress Bungalow of ours that rents separately from the house.

Nature has found a love for this property, as well, so we enjoy watching the deer, turkeys, squirrels, turtles and even a family of eagles that live in the treetops on our land. The Space:
The Ledford house was first built in the early 1900’s. No one seems to know who built it originally. In addition to being a kindergarten upstairs, rumor has it that a man by the name of Elvis Presley once stopped by to get his record played while it was an old radio station down stairs.
The home’s beautiful original wood work you see scattered around the house today would be covered by numerous owners before it was purchased by Bobby Ledford in 1978. Bobby Ledford was a budding barber and proud US Navy veteran. He once offered 100’s of free hair cuts to men and women serving in our military. High and tight was his specialty. He along with his wife Laurice and sister in law Karen Williams made “The Barbershop” a place of love, laughter, and excellent story telling for over 40 years in this community. Bobby and Laurice’s daughters, Tonya and Linzie along with Karen and Kenneth’s children, Kyle and Kadie considered this a second home spending hours after school visiting with clients and doing homework . During the covid era, Bobby passed away and Karen experienced loss of eyesight closing the doors to all of its clients and devastating the community that loved them so deeply. It was during that time of despair that Linzie had a dream like a message from heaven . The Barbershop should not be sold but instead be renewed and continue in the family for generations to come! In the summer of 2022 “The Barbershop“ was purchased by Linzie and Jeremy Hebert. The idea would be to create an Airbnb for other families like their own to celebrate life and be together in a home away from home.
On January 4, 2023 the entire family gathered to say good bye to the old, wrote scripture for the new walls, and prayed over what God had planned next. As the former walls came down in a true labor of love, incredible beauty was found beneath the surface. The brick arches, the easter egg colored shiplap wood, the old landing upstairs, and even the original door with its crystal knob beamed brightly like diamonds in the ruff just waiting to be rediscovered . While “The Barbershop” will always be what we call it, The Ledford House will serve as its new name and the beginning of a new era honoring the days past and rejoicing in the memories to come.

You’ll love my place because of the location, the outdoors space, and the neighborhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Meadows Manor was built in 1941. It is three stories and is 4200 square feet. Guy and Faye Barnes are only the second owners of the home. It is now a wedding and event venue as well as a bed and breakfast. No one resides in the home. We are located in downtown Ruston.

Our home is situated near all of the neighborhood comforts, such as the Dog House restaurant, coffee shops, Mexican and Italian restaurants. The Fashion and Chartreuse Pear, upscale ladies shops are just steps away. Louisiana Tech football at Joe Ailet Stadium is only a four blocks away. A little bit south will bring you to a bike route which runs parallel to Railroad and connects La Tech to downtown Ruston, where you can watch amazing sunsets of the downtown skyline. If you enjoy nature walks, head to Lincoln Parish Park less than a 10 minute drive north with attractions that also include hike-n-bike trails and a lake.

The perfect place to not only relax in peace near the woods of Grambling, but the ambiance makes it much more fun! Great for photos and reminiscing of music to share with your family! This home is walking distance to Grambling Campus and about a 7 minute drive to LA Tech! This home is 4 bedrooms, and you have the option to book the other side to create an 8 bedroom space!

The house is a large duplex and we split them to give two different vibes. Movies on Gum is inspired by classic movies and Music on Gum is inspired by Hip Hop and R&B artists. You will notice paintings of Movies and Artists all over each side of the homes. The Bedrooms for Movies on Gum have special themes to them in regards to the type of movies. The Bedrooms for Music on Gum have different color schemes that align with each artist. We wanted to create a space where our guests can have a place to rest as well as give them an opportunity for photos. At the end of the day, it is simply a 4 Bedroom Vacation home with style!

You will be able to access the entire home on the side that you have booked. Also, there is a third rental on the property called LOVE on Gum. It is a Studio Bedroom with a Kitchen and Bathroom. This is a great add on if you just need a little bit more space versus getting an entire 4 bedroom home.

**PLEASE NOTE** You will have access to your side only. You will not share any space in your side with the neighbor. There is one way to enter each side. Each side has its own four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, laundry room and a living/dining room.

THE ONLY shared shared areas would be the fire pit area, parking lot, backyard and patio. If booked both sides, you will have access to the entire property.

Pennington House is a spacious 3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home on a quiet street 1.7 miles from La. Tech and 5 miles from Grambling University. This newly remodeled house features 2 large living areas and an updated kitchen. Enjoy watching a movie or the game in the open-plan den area, or enjoy a cup of tea with a book or conversation in the cozy living room. (Please note, the fireplaces are not currently functional.)

This home has bed space for up to 8 adults (or 6 adults and 4 children). There are additional sofas available for sleeping, and we welcome groups of up to 12 total. We also offer a pack-n-play, if needed. The primary suite features 1 king bed, a sitting area with a futon sofa, a large closet, and a private bathroom. The futon sleeps 1 teen/adult or 2 small children - and there is a curtain you can use to divide the 2 sleeping areas if helpful.

The first guest room features 1 queen bed, a large closet and dresser, and a desk - a nice option for those who might need to get some work done while traveling. The second guest room has 2 twin beds, a small closet, a make-up desk, and a large TV. This room is also great as a movie room - the daybeds and pillows can be used as sofas for comfy viewing. The living room has 2 sofas, one of which is a sleeper sofa. Linens are provided for the sleeper, and you are also welcome to use the other sofa as-is for an additional sleeping spot. The den has a large L-shaped sofa which may also be used as sleeping space. Sheets, blankets and pillows are available for the sofas. Please note, the 2 living spaces do not have doors, so do not offer privacy.

The primary bathroom has a shower without a tub. The full guest bathroom includes a shower with a tub and plenty of towels and hooks for everyone, The additional 1/2 bathroom adds convenience for large groups and is located just off the kitchen.

The large back yard contains a spacious covered patio with ceiling fans to enjoy some relaxation outdoors. Work is still being done on the landscaping, and we hope to offer additional amenities outside in the near future! We provide free WiFi, and we have TV's with Roku in the den and in each bedroom (just sign into your streaming accounts or use one of the free apps). There is a DVD player in the den that can be moved to guest rooms as needed as well. We also have lots of books and a few outdoor and indoor games and toys for family fun.

Pennington House is the former home of two Tech administrators, and the furnishings include many interesting and quirky antiques purchased on their travels. (But the mattresses are all brand new!) For those with mobility limitations, there are ramps for every step into and inside this one-story home.

The RESORT is a Mid century modern house, 3000 sq ft large 2 bedroom, very cozy, decor updated and cool. The Front and backyard is massive. Lots of privacy. A place to get away unplug and relax. This house is one of a kind!

- "This house is lovely and peaceful with a very different floor plan. The location is perfect as it’s close to town with a country setting. The kids enjoyed playing in the backyard. The water gets hot quickly and stays hot. We didn’t hear the typical noise of a hotel stay (people running or yelling and no traffic). And we didn’t have to eat out every meal. There’s 4 televisions so no fighting over who is watching what. It says it sleeps 6, but 2 of those are on fold-down couches. The only negative thing I can say about our stay here is the couches are not very comfortable. Even so, we would definitely stay again. The owners were very nice to allow us an extra hour for check out time. So if you’re looking for somewhere in Ruston to stay you should definitely check out The Ranch."

For those who love to explore, scenic trails on the southeast side of the property are open for a leisurely walk through nature..

When you arrive you will find a 1938 brick home set on a shady hill, a dedicated parking space and private entrance off of the screened in porch. We are the second driveway on the right. The property is surrounded by nature which gives the impression of being out in the country, when in fact, "civilization" is a mere 2 minutes away. Interstate I-20 is also just minutes away. The private bedroom's amenities include modern appliances and antiques that complement the look of the home.

With a 9+ foot tall ceiling and wood floors, the bedroom is equipped with a 43 inch TV, microwave, minifridge, kurig, and private bath. An abundance of windows flood this cozy room with natural light. Guests are encouraged to use the screened in porch that leads to the room as well as the seating in the front yard.

Guests are able to access any area of the home at anytime! Please note that our main mission is to provide a comfortable space for guests to stay when they are in the area for any reason. We do provide amenities for guests as complimentary things to use while in the area. However, at anytime should we see fit, the amenities may be removed, replaced, or renovated. We have guests come throughout the year and accidents do happen, therefore some items will need to be repaired. We are not responsible for complimentary amenities if they are not available during your stay. If you are ONLY BOOKING our home because of a particular amenity, please confirm prior to booking and we can ensure if that will be available or not during your stay.

With that being said, we do ask everyone who use our amenities to treat it like your own as if it is damaged, it does cause a inconvenience to the next guest.

Also, the NOISE ORDINANCE is 10pm in Grambling. This means all outdoor activities should come to an end at this time. Especially on our multi location properties where the Gazebo and Basketball court is located. Unless you have booked the entire property, all music, gatherings and basketball court is mandatory to shut down so that other guests may get their rest.

Last, although the space is complimentary to use, the outdoor areas such as the deck, patio, basketball court, grill, gazebo, etc are NOT INCLUDED in your CLEANING FEE! All guests are required to clean up behind themselves in these areas. Please clean off the grills, throw away trash that are left in the gazebo, deck or patio areas. Should this be left dirty, an additional cleaning fee will be invoiced.

Welcome to our 2 story, 900 square foot guest house. Our space offers guests plenty of rom to relax, work, or play – HD TV’s, super-fast WIFI, and plenty of entertainment options. A nice sized desk and color printer is available for our business travelers. We also feature plenty of parking (trailers /large vehicles welcome). Our property includes a small charcoal grill and an in-ground pool that is available during summer months.

The space
Our Lodge features plenty of space to stretch out with comfortable furniture for the whole family. Our lodge sleeps 4-6 adults comfortably (2 Queens, and 1 pull out couch). Pack and play upstairs for kids with sheet. Full kitchen with all appliances and all cookware necessary. Our lodge features two large flat screen TV’s with access to Live TV, Netflix, Hulu, and an Xbox One for the gamers. A bookshelf with movies, books, and games is also available. Both the downstairs and upstairs are climate controlled with independent mini-split units and can be adjusted to your personal preference. The bathroom does feature a full-sized tub and shower. Please note, the upstairs bedroom is one large room with two queen beds.

Our lodge has ample parking for multiple vehicles or for our guests that may be in a moving van, or pulling a boat. Our property is secluded and surrounded by woods, but also protected by outdoor security cameras to ensure vehicles are safe overnight. There is a power outlet near the parking area to allow for overnight charging of boats/accessories, or an EV. A charcoal grill and outdoor seating are also available.

Judith's place is absolutely perfect for long stays. We needed a temporary place to stay while looking for a home in the area, and Judith's place was clean, well stocked, comfortable, and situated on beautiful property. Judith was a very kind, flexible, and helpful host, which made our unique circumstances much easier to manage. When we arrived at her guest house after 4 days of driving, she had snacks and many other necessities already available (so we did not have to run to the store immediately). Additionally, she came over to greet us and help make us feel welcome. Her property is a wonderful place to unwind. The guest house is secluded with its own lawn area and view of the woods surrounding the property. We watched deer, birds, rabbits, and many other critters from the outdoor patio. Additionally, if you like to run in the morning or walk the dog, her home is right next to the Rock Island Greenway (which leads you to R.L. Cook Park). We would highly recommend Judith's place to folks visiting the Ruston area!

The Chautauqua House was the perfect place for our extended stay in the Ruston area. Perfectly situated off of I-20 it was the perfect jumping off point for seeing the area. Our dog loved the space to get out and walk and we appreciated not having to kennel her for three weeks. Judi was a fantastic host and we appreciated all the little touches that made our stay just a little nicer. These included a good supply of tasty breakfast treats!

We had a wonderful stay at the Chautauqua House. Although this is a relatively new venture for Judith and her husband, she truly considered every need of her guests. The house easily accommodated three adults and two young children. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped with tableware, cooking utensils and cookware of all types, linens and pantry basics. Judith has excellent taste. Bed and bath linens were luxurious. Judith is a warm and gracious host who personally reaches out to her guests. The property is lovely, and we were accorded our privacy. Although we did not bring our small dog on this trip, it is a plus for us to know Judith permits pets at this lovely property. I highly recommend Chautauqua House for anyone needing a lovely place to stay in the Ruston area. Thanks, Judith.

What is a Chautauqua?

The Chautauqua Society was founded in 1874 with a simple goal: to provide educational enrichment to all in a picturesque outdoor setting. One might say that it was a sort of intellectual and recreational summer camp for families. The Chautauqua movement quickly spread throughout the United States and resulted in 45 states establishing Circuit Chautauquas which offered lectures, music, readers and plays in rural and small-town America. In 1891, the Louisiana Educational Association founded the Louisiana Chautauqua at a 15-acre tract of land on the outskirts of Ruston.

Northern Louisiana and the site in Ruston was specifically selected for the state's Chautauqua because of its gently rolling hills, forest scenery, and peaceful setting. Thos. D. Boyd, President of the Louisiana Educational Association, noted in a circular letter in April 1891, that Northern Louisiana was "noted for its healthfulness and pleasing rural scenery." Since the Chautauqua programs were held during the summer, this region also offered an escape from the oppressive southern Louisiana heat. The Ruston site encompassed a number of mineral springs, offering visitors an opportunity to take in the healing waters, and further promoting the site as a place for retreat and renewal. A two-story hotel, named the Chautauqua Springs, was erected along with cottages and an outdoor auditorium that held 2,000 people. Later a railroad station was built near the property and visitors came in great numbers.

The popularity of the Louisiana Chautauqua quickly spread and people from outside the state attended its annual programs. Many participants were said to have loved the "tonic effect of the pure pine air" while they gathered under the many mature trees that covered the Chautauqua property. William Jennings Bryan, the most popular of all Chautauqua speakers, lectured at the Louisiana Chautauqua.

This house is located in the middle of Ruston in a very quiet, family neighborhood. This house includes all appliances you may need for a lengthy stay. Our 1 Bedroom Cabin is over the water on Lake Claiborne. Very Clean swimming area with great views of the lake. Boat ramp and dock for guest use. Can sleep up to 7 with ease. Easy to access the cabin for people who have trouble with steps. There is only one step up from ground level into the cabin.

Our Cabin is completely over the water with decks all the way around. We have a nice boat ramp that use to swim over so their feet stay out of the Louisiana mud. Fishing is nice from the back deck as well.

Our total property is being used for rentals. We have 2 RV slots that you will share the boat ramp and swimming area with. Your cabin is for your use only. There are 2 docks you are able to access on the property as well.

The living space is 300 heated square feet downstairs with kitchen, bathroom/laundry and living room with a sleeper sofa which is counted as one of the beds in the listing . The bathroom has a 32x36 inch shower, toilet and stacked washer dryer. Upstairs in the 150 square foot loft there is a queen bed along with two twin beds. The stairs going to loft are 24 inches wide which is 12 inches narrower than typical stairs. There is one other cottage on this property also listed on Airbnb with a fence separating them. Next to the cabin is a community boat launch that you can use to launch boat.
