- "This home smells like smoke and if you have allergies, respiratory problems, or children you will NOT want to rent this place. The home is cute and clean, however, even though advertised as non-smoking, from the moment you walk in it is very apparent the home has been smoked in. It was so bad that we were not able to stay there for the 2 nights we booked as our allergies were flared up before we even went to bed the first night and both of us woke up very congested and having difficulty breathing. We made sure we were out of the house by check out time the next day; when we let Cindy (homeowner/host) know of the issues she said that because she herself is a smoker she didn't realize the smell, though another renter had told her about it and informed her that she could have the house sprayed with something. She told us that she was very sorry for the situation and that she would find out how to refund us for the night we didn't stay. NOT the case, she eventually declined to reimburse us for our stay as it was going to cost her $1000 to have the home cleaned to remove the smoke smell. Never has anyone ever treated us this way. We discussed the issue with VRBO and they said it is up to the property owner to issue all refunds and they would have to work with her, we ended up on settling something with VRBO, in term of credits on future stays, but did not receive our money back. The kitchen includes several amenities, such as a gas stovetop, dishwasher, a large fridge with a built-in ice dispenser, an air fryer, a touchless hand soap dispenser, and more.
