I discovered Cromwell Manor Inn on Expedia when I spontaneously decided to spend a weekend at Storm King, just a short drive from the accommodations. Troy treated me to another delicious breakfast, and I spent the remainder of my day exploring the grounds while witnessing the team joyously decorating the beautiful estate with Christmas decorations. Hike the cabin's 40 acres that connect to state trails, or grill around the fire pit. A short drive to the towns of Woodstock, Phoenicia, and the area's ski resorts.

The space
Built in 1900, this home features a unique craftsmanship in every room. There are views into the forest from the custom windows, a chef's kitchen, excellent library, vinyl records and two woodstoves. Birdwatch while taking a bath, light up the grill at the pagoda, sit outside under the stars beside the fire pit, or listen to the creek from the master bedroom.

Guests who love rural settings, including wildlife and making fires in the modern Danish woodstove, will feel at home here.

We welcome children and can provide a bassinet, pack n' play, and baby gates for the stairs and wood stove. In winter, guests should use a 4WD or AWD vehicle to navigate the driveway to the house and be comfortable using the woodstove as the main heating source. Pets are very welcome but we have a $100 cleaning surcharge for them.

Stunning cabin glamping experience in a private area with a fire pit only two hours from NYC by car or train. The cabin has a full-size futon bed, clean bed linens, duvet, blankets, pillows and towels, and storage shelves for clothing. There is also a ladder to a loft with a twin mattress. There is electricity in the cabin, a space heater & kettle for tea/coffee, and spring water. There is an outdoor covered dining area & a fire pit. The private toilet tent is behind the cabin. Nearby hikes.

The space
The cabin is in a very quiet place, down a long driveway (so no traffic noise) and halfway up a mountain. The gravel road makes it easy for standard cars to access. Look for the eight ball mail box when finding the driveway entrance.

Guest access
The entire cabin and surrounding area is yours to enjoy. The dome house down the hill is our place but the woods are ours and you’re welcome to roam around.

We had some bad experiences with pets in the cabin in the past, but this is negotiable provided we agree on an additional cleaning fee.
