Sleeping: The master bedroom has a Queen bed and large closet, with a window overlooking the backyard. The loft has two queen beds and small sitting area which serves as the other bedroom.

Outdoors: The large yard is fenced and completed with bistro lights, Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, and picnic table to enjoy the outdoors. We also provide a few yard games and charcoal grill.

Cooking: The kitchen is fully furnished with all necessary cooking supplies, utensils, olive oil, spices, etc. We also provide coffee and tea.

Relax with the family at this peaceful Chalet in the Woods!

Located in a quiet, residential subdivision, the Chalet is 2 miles from Higgins and Houghton Lakes. The Au Sable River is also nearby. You’ll find excellent fishing, boating and a livery in town for tubing, kayaking or canoeing. Just 70 miles north, enjoy skiing, water parks, golf and more at hills such as Boyne Mountain.
The space
Open floor plan with an outdoors, cabin-style decor and natural light.

You’ll enter through the front door and find plenty of closet-space for coats and shoes. A stackable washer/dryer is in the front hall closet and available for your use. As you walk to the Great Room, you’ll pass the 1st floor bath and bedroom. The Great Room combines the kitchen, dining and living rooms.

The kitchen has everything you need to cook and clean up! Toaster, range oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, fridge/freezer and land-line telephone. We also have a new Keurig coffee maker for both K-cups and pots of coffee. We supply coffee grounds, filters, K-cups and tea, but feel free to bring your own as well. ☕️

The new dining room table has 4 chairs and a bench for 2 or 3. Enjoy comfortable couches and chairs, and a gorgeous, stone-covered, wood-burning fireplace. Sip a beverage in front of the fireplace while chatting or cooking dinner. If you bring kiddos, it’s a perfect setup to keep an eye on them! There’s some books, puzzles, DVDs, games and toys for kids and adults. Strong WiFi connection.

Dine outdoors on a large Trex deck, just off the Great Room. A large table with 6 chairs and an umbrella, a bistro table with 4 chairs, and 2 lounge chairs. There’s a safety gate for kids and dogs. The deck overlooks beautiful trees and a fire pit- did someone say s’mores? 🍫

Firewood is under the deck and available for your use. Full and kiddie-size trampolines. My family, friends, neighbors and I enjoy morning coffee, listening to the birds and meditation. Perfect place for some yoga, too.

The home has 2 floors with carpeted stairs. Both the 1st and 2nd floor bathrooms have a tub shower. We supply Dove-brand shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap as well as wash cloths, body and hand towels.

Each floor has 1 bedroom. The upstairs also boasts a large loft with a twin and full bed as well as a twin/full combo bunk bed.

The upstairs bedroom has 1 full and 2 twin beds, the downstairs bedroom has 1 full bed. Each bedroom has a dresser and closet for your use, the loft has a dresser.

We have a long driveway and big front yard- plenty of parking. There’s also a swing and hammock in the front.

Furthermore, my family and I compiled a list of things to do and places to go such as golf courses, marinas, beaches and a yoga studio. The list, with addresses included, is in a binder on the dining room table. It’s also in the Airbnb app under House manual.

Lastly, my adult children, Tim and Angie, graciously help with my rental. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact us. Welcome to our charming chalet-style cabin nestled near the beautiful shores of Higgins Lake! Our cabin is located in a serene wooded area just a short drive (5 minutes) from the sparkling shores of Higgins Lake. Enjoy easy access to swimming, boating, and hiking trails. Roscommon and Grayling offer additional dining and amenities nearby. Our three bedrooms fitted with king, queen, and two twin bunk beds give ample space for the whole family to sleep comfortably. When it’s time to mingle, our open concept common area is a great place to unwind and have fun with friends and loved ones, complete with relaxing fireplace and zero degree lounging couches. Our deck has a propane grill perfect for those backyard BBQs, and a fire pit just waiting to roast marshmallows. Getting cleaned up is a breeze with our tub, shower, and handheld sprayer, giving options for personal preferences all around.

For the security and safety of our house and guests there are three exterior cameras, actively recording. Placed on the front face of the house aimed at the driveway and street, on the back corner of the house aimed at the fire-pit and side, and top of the shed in the backyard facing the yard and back of the house, cameras are actively recording with no audio.

Animals such as bats, bear, birds, chipmunks, coyotes, deer, fox, insects, mice, rabbits, raccoon’s, squirrels do reside in the area and may occasionally appear.

Please respect the wildlife and their habitat. No trapping or hunting of any animal is allowed on the property.

Riding ORV'S is permitted on all roads expect M-roads in Roscommon county. Refer to ORV rules book. Be respectful of neighbors with noise and speed limits.

Welcome to Higgins Haus! A modern and completely remodeled A-Frame cabin right in between Higgins & Houghton Lake. 5 Minute drive from Higgins Lake, 10 minute drive to Houghton Lake, and close to golf courses and hiking trails. Tucked back away from the road, you will have a peaceful and relaxing evening with the wood burning fireplace, puzzles, games, books, bonfire pit, and a stylish interior including one full bath, one first floor bedroom, and a loft. The couch also pulls into a queen bed.

The space
On the main level you will find a living room with a pull out queen sofa, a dining room, kitchen. In the back area of the house you will find a washer/dryer, one bedroom with a queen bed, and full bathroom. Upstairs in the loft is a queen bedroom and two twin beds.

Guests can access property remotely via a specialized key pad code.

Other things to note
Please note that this property is located in Northern Michigan where wildlife is abundant. Bears have been sighted as well as other animals like deer, raccoons, etc. Please be cognizant of this and make sure garbage is secured in the wired bins at the driveway.

Also, as it is a wooded setting, spiders, ants, bugs, mosquitos can be prevalent. The home (interior, exterior) and the yard is sprayed regularly by a professional pest control company and therefore should be manageable, but insect repellent is encouraged and if the door or windows are open you may see bugs entering the property.

Also note, we do have one exterior security camera pointed towards our driveway for security purposes. We do not have audio settings on the camera turned on and there are no cameras on the interior of the property.

Designed to be cozy and bright, this centrally-located Chalet is nestled between Higgins and Houghton Lakes located in a quiet neighborhood and easily accessible to nearby attractions. South Higgins State Park, Marl Lake, Cross Country Skiing, Golf, ORV and Snow Mobile trails all nearby.

The Cozy Chalet boasts a large wrap around deck and beautiful landscaping easily accessed by 2 large sliding doors off the open floor plan. The wooded lot creates privacy to enjoy time with friends and family.

The space
Sleeping: The main floor bedroom is tranquil with a king bed and lots of storage. The upstairs bedroom has 2 queen beds and a smart TV with an attached lounging area in the loft. The loft also has a pull out sofa that coverts to a full size bed.

Living: The downstairs open floor plan creates a large enough space for everyone to hang out. Two doors open onto the large deck creating the perfect indoor/outdoor living and dining spaces. Lots of windows provide views of the wooded lot across the street, where you can often see deer strolling by.

Kitchen: The kitchen comes fully equipped; all cooking supplies needed including an instant pot, air fryer, and lot of pots and pans. The coffee pot is dual providing regular drip coffee as well as a Keurig option. We also supply coffee, tea, lots of spices and cooking oils. A large pantry provides storage for your groceries.

A newly remodeled bathroom and large laundry room complete the house.

Full access to the house via lock box. We do not allow parking in the garage and there is one locked owners closet guests do not have access to.
