The Mountain House is a large, beautifully appointed chalet with wonderful views of the Mont Blanc massif. It has six bedrooms and beds for 14 people plus a sofa bed.
You can walk the 800m to the ski lifts, drive, or take the free shuttle bus that stops 100m from the chalet. It's a two minute walk to a charming restaurant serving pizzas and other meals, and a quiet 10-15 minute walk to the middle of Les Contamines-Montjoie village with its shops, restaurants, bars, mini-supermarkets.
The Mountain House is furnished it to a very high standard to provide a luxurious setting for a perfect alpine holiday. The large main room, with its double-height ceiling and giant deer antler* chandelier, has windows on three sides giving wonderful views, and a huge (3m long) and very solid oak table that comfortably seats 12 people - many more at a push! The other half of this room is a lovely cosy area with a corner sofa and two armchairs, all arranged around the large curved-glass wood-burning stove. There's a 49" wall-mounted 4K TV in the main room, and a Bluetooth enabled Onkyo amp connected to floor-standing KEF speakers.
The Mountain House has a separate TV room/ snug with another 49" wall-mounted 4K TV, a super-comfortable corner sofa. This works particularly well as a place for the kids to retreat to after dinner, allowing the adults a quieter time around the large oak table or the wood burning stove in the main room.
The kitchen is lovely and bright with floor-to-ceiling windows on one side and wide open views of the mountains. It has two Bosch ovens, a large fridge-freezer, a dishwasher and everything you'll want for cooking and eating in style. We keep the kitchen well-stocked with herbs and spices, cookings oils, coffee and tea etc so it's a great place for preparing and serving large meals in style. .
Les Contamines-Montjoie is a charming unspoiled Haute Savoie village and a fantastic place for skiing and boarding. There's 120km of pistes catering for all abilities, and lots of accessible and fun off-piste between the pistes. Its snow record is the best in the Chamonix valley and the ski domain has stunning views of the Mont Blanc massive including of the summit of Mont Blanc itself. Yet compared to better known ski resorts, is it never crowded.
For the spring and summer, the Mountain House has a large sunny garden, a south-facing terrace with a 10-seater table, a Weber gas BBQ, a second large outdoor table in the garden, and several sun loungers. There are endless options nearby for walking, cycling, swimming, mountaineering, climbing etc, or relaxing, reading, eating and drinking.
The beds and mattresses are all super-comfortable, and the duvets and pillows are 100% goose down and feather. All bed linen is crisp percale cotton. Three of the bedrooms have either super king or king size beds; one room has bunk beds plus two additional singles; one has bunk beds plus one additional single; and the 6th bedroom has just one single bed. This 6th bedroom is a small room but it has a large window, plenty of shelves, a bedside table and lamp and a comfortable new bed and mattress. All the bedrooms have Cambridge Audio Bluetooth speakers.
There is a large double garage that can comfortably take a car and still leave plenty of room for skiing and boarding equipment, and there's parking for two more cars outside. The Mountain House has a large capacity washing machine and a large capacity clothes drier.
Children are very welcome. The Mountain House has three cots and three high chairs.
This listing is for the main chalet which comprises two-thirds of a very large (320m2) building that also includes a self-contained two-bedroom apartment and a self-contained one-bedroom apartment. The building was designed by an architect as a family home and has always included these self-contained apartments. As such the spaces flow very nicely and when in the main chalet you are unaware of the apartments, which are separated by thick concrete walls. This listing also includes exclusive use of the chalet's garden and garage.
You enter the chalet on the middle floor, which includes a large main room with a double-height ceiling. Two of the six bedrooms (one with a super king bed and one with bunks plus two singles) are upstairs, and four are downstairs from this middle floor. This separation of sleeping spaces works really well for two families, offering each their separate space and privacy. In addition to the 6 bedrooms which provide beds for 14 people, there is a sofa-bed that folds out in to a double bed in the living room.

- "We are a large family of mixed ages and skiing abilities. After trying to find a chalet big enough for us we came across this one! Wow!! What an amazing place!! The VRBO listing really doesn’t do it justice! It is perfect. Literally next door to the Telecabin and the end of the main ski run basically ends in the back garden!! Ski hire 5 mins walk (intersport) and supermarket even closer. Free bus stops outside to take you to main part of the village or you can walk there in 10 minutes. The chalet is perfect for large families or groups of friends, amazing views, balconies in most rooms and the living area on the top floor is just awesome. If we can get a big enough group together we will definitely be re booking. I just can’t fault it at all."

- "We have just returned from Les Contamines. There were 2 families (4 adults and 4 children) and the space was excellent. The children particularly enjoyed the table football and table tennis. The communal space in the kitchen, lounge and dining area was large enough to cater for all of us . The beds were comfortable and clean and the bathrooms were immaculate with the added bonus of a bath, which the children enjoyed on their return from skiing. The communication with the owners was fantastic, especially before our arrival. Upon arrival we had requested that we were going to be there in the morning,as we travelled through the night, so well before 5pm (check in time) and if it was possible to get in any earlier. Fortunately, the chalet manager called at 2:30 pm to say the chalet was ready. The welcome pack was informative, the WiFi worked well in the communal area but lacked strength in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked but did not include a kettle. I would definitely recommend this chalet, it is large enough for a couple of families and well situated to ski at all the resorts on the Evasion ski pass."

Situated in the authentic and traditional ski resort of Les Contamines Montjoie, it’s only 10 minutes’ walk from the village centre with its restaurants, shops and well stocked supermarkets. The free ski-bus stops almost on the doorstep and the ski lifts are just a few minutes’ drive. In the summer months, walking, climbing, biking, tennis and lake swimming are just a few of the activities on offer and the famous walking tour around Mont Blanc passes directly through the village. The chalet also has a south-facing garden terrace, for those summer barbeques.

- "I would highly recommend this chalet." - "The house was located in a lovely area, right across from the bus stop, which takes you to the city center (it is tiny though). Getting around is very easy if you don't even have a car - we had two but by the second half of the week, we were not really using them. The house was in a very good shape, with big rooms and a very equipped kitchen. Communication was done seamless. A couple of things and suggestions; although there was a baby cot, there was not a baby mattress, so that was a bit difficult to deal with. The pillows are quite old so it was not very comfortable. I would highly recommend buying new ones. The cleaning of the house could have been done better (the floors, fridge tops etc. were still a bit dusty). But overall, if you are all about skiing and relaxing at the chalet after a day full of activity, this is a great choice! Would go back again."

- "This a perfect gem of a chalet. Tastefully decorated, well-equipped and with plenty of space to relax - even for a group of nine adults. The village and the ski lifts are short drive away and there is also a convenient bus route. For non-skiers there are plenty of options for walking /snow-shoeing (especially in the direction of Notre Dame de La Gorge). If you wish to venture further afield (either to ski or just to explore) St Gervais-les-Bains and Chamonix are not too far away. We were fortunate to have had beautiful weather all week so all options were open to us. We stayed in the chalet over New Year but I imagine that this is also a great place to be in summer. The owners were very helpful and responsive throughout the reservation and booking process. Their local property manager Aline met us when we arrived, ensured a warm welcome and was available to answer questions by phone /SMS throughout our stay. Highly recommended!"

Chalet Le Bambi is a luxury refurbished chalet completed in Summer 2011. It has 5 spacious bedrooms, a large open-plan living ding area of 50sqm, 3 full size bathrooms and a separate WC. Le Bambi's most exciting feature is its location - 100 meters to the ski lifts and next to an old ski run down to the village enabling you to ski home to the door. Fully refurbished in 2011 to the highest standard, Le Bambi has underfloor heating throughout the Chalet and a wood burning stove to ensure cozy evenings in. The views of Mont Joly, Dome de Miage, the village and ski run can be enjoyed from the floor to ceiling windows. There are double glass doors in the kitchen opening onto a large terrace which can be used for barbeques/outside dining once the weather improves! The chalet is perfect for a large family or two families as it has 3 bedrooms on the top floor and two on the lower floor with the kitchen/living area in between. Newly renovated Ski Chalet: This beautiful chalet, located right by the ski lifts, offers the potential to ski to the door at the end of each day on the slopes. Renovated to the highest standard in 2010/2011 this property is only on the market for a few weeks each year. Located in Les Contamines, a beautiful traditional alpine resort which still retains its village atmosphere, it is just a short drive from the sparking lights of Megeve or the action of Chamonix. Les Contamines is part of the Evasion Ski area - a huge area of approx 445km of pistes. The chalet is a 10 minute walk into the centre of the village and there is a regular free shuttle bus during the winter which stops less than a minutes walk away. The main ski lift is less than a 100meters walk from the front door and it is possible to ski right into the back door of the chalet (off piste route). The chalet has lots of storage for skis and ski equipment and the wood burning stove is perfect to warm hands after a long day on the snow.

Family Friendly Chalet: Chalet Le Bambi is perfect for a family winter ski holiday or a summer time mountain escape. Les Contamines is know as a family friendly resort and caters perfectly for little people in the winter and the summer. The creche is only a 10 minute walk from the chalet and will take children on a weekly basic, half days or full days. The village is perfect for children in the summer with a fantastic park which includes a swimming lake with beach, a natural lake with pedal boats and fishing, tennis courts, crazy golf, trampolines, playground and a great high wire course. There is rock climbing close by, horse riding and biking and the village organises daily activities for children to take part in. The park is only a 15 minute walk from the chalet making it a perfect base.

Our relaxed, comfortable apartment sleeps five people in three bedrooms - a double, a twin and a single room. There is a large dining/living room and a separate kitchen with all mod cons. In the summer there is the exclusive use of a private backgarden with table and chairs and a BBQ. With stunning views over the Mont Blanc Massif, this apartment is on the top floor of our own chalet. Parking for a car. The access in winter is very simple with the flat road. You can go to the village walking through a path. You can reach the slopes with a free shuttle near the chalet. It is a very charming old Savoy farm renovated in wich we love spend our holidays !

Chalet Eclipse was built by the owner in 2003 with the vision of creating a traditional chalet with all the luxuries of a contemporary home. Renovated traditional wooden mountain chalet set back from main road in Les Contamines-Montjoie. The chalet (& adjoining annex) is well equipped & has a bright main room with vaulted ceiling, sunny terrace & views of Dome de Miages & Mont Joly. The well insulated chalet is about 10 mins walk from the village centre, has a ski-bus stop 50m from the front door & is c 2km from the ski lifts & nature park with both summer & winter activities.

The space
The chalet is our holiday home where we spend several months every year with family and friends. It is not a commercial property. We ask you read the details carefully and do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions. If you choose to stay in our chalet, we want you to love it and Les Contamines as much as we do.

When we are not in Les Contamines, our neighbours take care of the chalet for us and I am available remotely to help ensure you have a wonderful holiday.

We listen carefully to your feedback and are constantly making small improvements. In 2024 we have replaced the hot water boilers, added some shelves for more glasses, replaced the bench at the entrance, replaced the outdoor terrace table and chairs as well as a new garage door. The chalet is currently in need of repainting.

The chalet has amazing views on all sides (Fiz, Mont Joly and Dome de Miage) and is an easy walk to the village, either on the main road or down the path along the stream (the Bon Nant). However, it is next to the main road, and whilst well insulated inside, some guests do complain about the noise particularly on the terrace in the summer.

In addition to the main chalet which can sleep up to 8 (albeit 1 room with 2 bunk beds is suited to children and small adults as the bunk mattresses are 75x190cm), there is also a simple small annex next door (separate entrance) which may also be available to rent if you need more space. It might also be occupied during your stay.

The layout of the chalet is quite quirky - total floor space is around 70m2. It has an open living space with kitchen, dining space and lounge/TV space. One double bedroom, the bunk room & bathroom (small bath with shower attachment and washbasin) are downstairs, and one double bedroom with integrated shower unit and washbasin is upstairs next to the living space and separate WC.

You will receive a key for the garage in which you can store your equipment for example skis, bikes etc. At the back of the garage is a laundry room which you are welcome to use but please use your own detergent and leave clean and tidy. We leave basic provisions but ask that guests replace anything that they use up. In the garage there is a charcoal BBQ and additional garden furniture which you are welcome to use but please return to the garage at the end of your stay.

Please do not use our personal items (skis, boots, bikes) stored in the garage.

We provide bed linen and bath towels (not suitable for use outside the chalet so please bring your own swimming towels). We can give you a discount if you bring your own linen and towels as the laundry costs are very high.

We ask that you leave the chalet as you found it taking care to ensure that you have emptied all the bins and washed up any dirty kitchen items. Please let me know if anything is broken or not working correctly.

The access to the property is from the main road with the main door into the chalet being from the rear terrace. The terrace adjoins the terrace for the next door apartment. The parking at the front (suitable for 2-3 cars) may need to be shared with the next door apartment if occupied during your stay.

The driveway and parking are next to the main road which can be noisy during busy periods so take care if you are reversing out onto the main road. However the 'front door' and terrace are at the back of the chalet. Our garden is quite small but the gardens at the back of our chalet and the front of our neighbour are open with no fences and our neighbour is happy to have children playing and building snowmen in his garden!

Other things to note
We will leave a selection of books, games and DVDs for you to use during your stay, but please leave them when you depart. Guests are expected to leave the chalet clean and tidy but if this does not suit you we normally can arrange someone to clean for an additional fee. Please just let me know!

Despite its proximity to the main road, the chalet is well insulated with little noise pollution. Please note that the chalet & terrace is overlooked at the rear by a chalet - however this does not block the views of the Dome de Miage (from the back) or the Mont Joly (from the front), or down across the valley to the Fiz.

This house has a large living area on the ground floor, with a fireplace and large windows overlooking the mountains. The bedrooms, bathroom and separate toilet are upstairs.
We have made some significant investments in this house and we expect our guests to respect our home and to leave it absolutely clean.

There is a private garden at the back of the house. If you have a vehicle, you can park at the front of the garage or on the public car park on the other side of the road. Please don't park on the parking lot of the building "La Montaz", it is for their use only. Thank you.
Please note that the garage access may be blocked by snow in winter.

Please note that the house doesn't open directly onto the garden, you have to go out the front door to get to the garden.

Cleaning is professionally done after every booking and is in line with Covid-19 safety requirements:
Our cleaners proceed with thorough disinfection of all door handles, light switches, TV remotes, all surfaces, tables and bathroom/toilet.
All textiles including curtains, lounge, cushions and bed linen.

Please note that due to Covid-19 safety requirements, some basic cooking basics such as oil, sugar, salt and pepper have to be removed.

We recommend that you wash dishes and glasses before using them, that you do not use books, magazines and board games present in the house. Also, please do not leave any food behind.

Beds are to be unmade and linen left for the cleaners to pick up.

We built Chalet Champelet in 2007 with the aim of creating a beautiful retreat in an unspoiled corner of the French Alps. In winter it provides access to a handful of lovely ski resorts and in the summer a gateway to enjoy the mountains, lakes and summer sports.

We generally operate a Sunday to Sunday booking system, however mid week or weekend bookings can sometimes be made available. So, please send us a message via 'Contact Host' to ask any questions and check availability.

The space
The lower ground floor has two bedrooms, a drying room and laundry. The first floor is an open plan living area. The top floor has two main bedrooms and a small third bedroom under the eaves (please note there are no toddler or baby gates on the stairs).

The drive takes you to a parking area and a secure garage. A series of steps lead up to the chalet, so this may not be suitable for older guests or those with mobility issues. There is a large sun terrace and private garden with wonderful views across the valley. Please note there are no baby gates on the stairs.

The chalet is 10 to 15 mins walk to the middle of town. The main ski lift is 5 to 10 minutes drive with free parking. The nearest ski bus stop is 5 mins walk.

Brand new 110 m2 cottage that can accommodate 10 people.
It is a 10-minute walk to the village center and 3 minutes to a bus station where the free shuttle (Le Champelet Devant stop) takes you to the foot of the cable cars or hiking/summer leisure activities departures.

The space
This chalet consists of 2 levels.

On the ground floor you will find a double entrance, one on the side of the ski room, the other as the main entrance. There is a small laundry room and a guest toilet. Then you have the large open kitchen area, dining room, living room with access to a 30 m2 terrace.

Upstairs, it consists of 4 bedrooms, including 1 with 2 bunk beds ideal for children, 2 with 2 double beds (140 cm and 160 cm) with their own shower room and a last with 2 single beds that can be pushed together.
Bathroom with large bathtub and separate toilet complete this floor.

A small area of 100 m2 is located around the chalet.

There is the option to park 2–3 cars.

The chalet is rented by the week during the winter school holiday periods.

To get to the Chalet, it is accessible by transport. The nearest railway station is Le Fayet-Saint Gervais. You then have a bus (Line 84 – Le Champelet stop) that takes you directly to Contamines Montjoie.

The chalet located a stone's throw from the Hôtel Restaurant de L 'étape at an altitude of 1400 m and offers breathtaking views of the Dômes de Miage and Lac de l' Étape.
Accessible by gondola, winter (preferential ski pass price) and by a carriage road with a municipal permit or gondola in summer.

Ideal for a small group, it becomes your refuge after a good day of skiing or hiking.

The space
Access: Summer/Winter season: Upon arrival at the bottom of the cable cars, you must pick up your round-trip ticket included in your stay to go up to the hotel. Just tell the cashiers your name.
In summer: Remember to keep your return ticket to get off at the hotel on your check-out day.

The rental of the chalet is completely autonomous, however you have the possibility to benefit from many amenities to make your stay more enjoyable: Filter coffee machine, raclette machine, fondue machine, TV, Wi-Fi and a dishwasher. When renting, you are responsible for providing the various consumables you will need during your stay (dishwasher tablets, coffee filter, garbage bags, etc.)

Bedding/Bath linen: Duvets and pillows provided, Sheets not provided. However, we offer the rental of sheets at €12 per person per night.

Cleaning: The end of stay cleaning is your responsibility. We provide you with cleaning equipment. Please remove the sheets and leave the chalet clean and tidy. If necessary, and also in case of breakage or damage, we will be forced to keep your deposit of €200.

Meals/Grocery shopping: In summer, since the chalet is located at 1400m altitude and the cable cars only operate during the day until 5:00 p.m., there are no restaurants open in the evening or a supermarket nearby for grocery shopping. Plan your meals well in the evening. As far as lunch is concerned, there is a restaurant open right next door or other nice restaurants at altitude.

In winter, there is the hotel restaurant next door, by reservation only and subject to availability.

Pets: No pets allowed in the chalet.

Our chalet was handmade 10 years ago by my craftsman neighbor, whose family has lived in this valley for more than 200 years. We have 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and a mezzanine with an additional two twin beds (or king sized). We're situated in a very private sun-filled spot in the village. Our back terrace has a barbecue, picnic table and umbrella. It overlooks magnificent views of the close, glaciated mountains and wide sunny valley.

Next to the nursery slope in beautiful Contamines, our four story chalet is particularly suitable for families, boasting a 10 seat dining table and a spacious living room with fireplace and large screen television, a terrace and garden with uninterrupted views, barbeque and a volleyball net . In the basement,we have a game room with darts,wii and babyfuss, plus a sauna. The skatepark and pumptrack is two minutes away and so are the best eateries in town. We have private parking for two cars.

The space
Our chalet is decorated as a living place rather than a rental object, mixing traditional Savoyard style with eclectic french brocante furniture and some modern twists.

The chalet has fast internet , OrangeTV as well as Bose music pod. There is direct access to a large sun deck with deckchairs, barbecue, wooden outdoor table and volleyball/badminton net, .The short trail through the garden leads to the nursery slope, which is normally occupied by grazing cattle during the long summer.

The skiing in the backyards of Mont Blanc is of high standard and is suitable for absolutely all types of skiers (with remarkably good snow conditions compared to most of the resorts in our vicinity). For the summer, the countless trails and hiking routes around the Mont Blanc, plus numerous activities in the village, including the largest activity park in the Pays de Mont Blanc as well as a new skatepark, will keep everyone entertained.

There is tennis, riding, swimming lake, mountain biking trails, zip-line, plus nearby golfing and rafting. Bikes, including e-bikes can be rented in more or less all sports shops and there are quality routes both for MTB and roadbike fans. The lifts are open and acept bikes. Contamines is simply a perfect backdrop for a rejuvenating and unforgettable holiday.

Les Contamines Montjoie is an authentic mountain village with easy acces to hiking, skiing and biking. There is a large area for children with many activities, tennis and a lake to swim in.
Nice restaurants and a local market on Tuesdays. Atmosphere and beautiful views. Close to Chamonix and Megeve.

Our completely renovated family barn is 300 metres from the Gorge gondola parking lot. Accessible skis on foot but impossible to park there. So you have to be a little sporty to bring luggage and logistics! Likewise, you must be comfortable with the start and maintenance of a wood stove that heats the large room. All other rooms are equipped with a good radiator. Great comfort but secluded from the world. A little adventure anyway...unforgettable!

Modern 4-bedroom self-catered chalet ideally situated in Les Contamines with breathtaking mountain views, and only 500m from the centre of the village.

Guest parking is available in front of the chalet, and the ski bus leaves just metres from the end of the drive. The chalet has it's own private entrance, a substantial private garden/terrace, and a separate ski locker to store your equipment.

It is worth noting that 2 bedrooms more suited to children due to low ceilings or bunk beds

The chalet is finished to a very high, modern standard.

Ground floor:
An open plan living, dining and kitchen area with underfloor heating and wood-burning stove, with separate WC and cloak area. There is a 42" smart TV with French cable TV, Netflix and a selection of DVDs. The kitchen is well equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, raclette grill, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge freezer as well as a separate cupboard housing a washing machine.

First Floor:
Bedroom 1 has a king-sized double bed with an en-suite shower and access to south-west facing balcony with views of Mont Joly. This contains a fitted wardrobe.

Bedroom 2 has a King-sized bed with access to to the south-west facing balcony. There is a fitted wardrobe.

The Bunkroom has bespoke fitted bunk-beds with ample storage and its own private balcony with views towards the Dome de Miage. This room is suitable for children or small adults only.

The main bathroom is on the first floor, with natural stone sink and shower tray with heated towel rail and a petite window framing a beautiful view down the Montjoie valley towards Saint Gervais.

Second Floor:
The attic room has 2 full sized single beds (beware, this may not be suitable for tall people as the ceiling up here is 1.84m at its highest!) There is a toilet and along with a very useful and cosy 'den' area for kids to hangout and play games or watch TV/DVDs whilst the adult relax downstairs.
