The chalet is made up of 4 bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 separate toilets. A convertible sofa in the living room in 160 (part which can be isolated by a large curtain from the rest of the living room) and two additional beds in the mazot (small typical Savoyard chalet which is in the garden and is heated in winter.) Before choosing your next rental, especially in winter, start by asking yourself the question "is it exposed to the sun" The answer is YES with a minimum duration of more than 6 hours in December! Did you know that in this valley of Chamonix many are the places plunged in the shade during almost 2 months! Educate yourself.
It is an apartment giving on one level on a south facing terrace.
Passionate about wood, I fitted out this apartment myself. Old wood is therefore part of the decor. Here we are in the authentic. On snowy or very cold days you will have to light the wood stove in the evening for the evening!
Through a large bay window, you are in direct contact with nature. Amazing effect when it snows while you are warm in your chalet. The breathtaking view of the Mont-Blanc massif takes on its full meaning here.

However, I draw your attention to a crucial point:
- Skiing in the Chamonix valley is already accepting to take your car or use public transport. this is not a ski in / ski out resort
It is a set of satellite stations scattered around Chamonix. They are generally not interconnected. On the other hand, they all offer a great diversity which goes from the green piste to off piste skiing and on glacier!

My chalet is located right in the middle of the largest ski area in the northern Alps. By agreeing to travel a maximum distance of 20 km by car (6km for the nearest), this gives you access with a single package the "Mont Blanc Unlimited" to all areas of the Chamonix valley + the area "Evasion Mont Blanc "including St Gervais, Megève, and Combloux. In other words, by changing the station each day, the week will not be enough!
Regarding ski lessons, my diplomas as ski instructor and high mountain guide allow me to offer you a large choice of activities either for you, for your children or even with your family; that is to say à la carte with flexible hours at a very advantageous rate.
Finally, for those who are not interested in downhill skiing, signposted, snowshoe routes and from the chalet, you will be taken to Alpe (see photos).

- "Overall we had such a great time here. Unfortunately the VRBO listing did not have the all the information in it- for example the cleaning requirements. Françoise was very sweet and worked with us(having traveled from the US we had no cleaning supplies). Chalet le Suay is a traditional 18th century Savoyard demi-farmhouse in the sunny village of Servoz which has been fully renovated to a high standard, retaining period features while benefiting from modern fixtures and fittings. It is well equipped, along with having TV, Apple TV, music and wi-fi.

The main chalet has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is set over the first and second floors.It sleeps 8 comfortably but with children it could sleep up to 10 although this would be pretty crowded!

The entrance hall leads to an imposing open plan living room with original restored beams, a ceiling-hung stove, access to a balcony and underfloor heating. The kitchen is an Italian design with concrete worktops. There is a guest room with a small double mezzanine sleeping deck and a single/truckle bed below - at a push you could fit two adults on the mezzanine and two children below in this room. Also on this floor is a WC and a double bedroom with ensuite shower room.

The second floor has two large bedrooms, the master bedroom with views across the valley and the children's bedroom which sleeps up to four, along with a superb bathroom with an Italian shower and a freestanding bath. The upstairs rooms have some low beams and steep stairs to access. There is a stair gate for children.

The property is set in land and fields and is five minutes from the skiing in les Houches, and fifteen minutes from Chamonix town centre from where it is a short drive to the other main ski areas of Chamonix.

All beds were comfortable (three queen-sized, one bunk room with three single beds) The bathrooms were immaculate, and it was nice to have washer/dryer on site. TVs were in all bedrooms, but we never watched, WiFi worked great. We didn’t use the fire pit or woodstove, as it was too warm. We did use the hot tub every night after our long days of hiking. Morning coffee on the deck – with superior mountain views – was a highlight as we mapped out our day’s hikes. We didn’t eat in any of the downtown Servoz restaurants (there were three); the timing never worked out. However, the little market (Proxi) in town was a highlight. We visited every morning for fresh bread, local fruits, eggs and also purchased items for snacks and lunches. We had two evening meals in Les Houches and other meals in Chamonix. From the minute we booked the chalet on VRBO, host Pierre Pousse, was friendly and helpful, and responded quickly via the VRBO app so communication was never a problem. We were a little uncertain about the check-in process, but Pierre, kept in touch with us and met us at the chalet to hand over the keys and show us around. He also checked us out in person, ensuring the property was in good order before we left. Pierre lives nearby so can easily stop by if needed. We highly recommend the chalet to anyone looking to be near Chamonix but not right in the action. We were only about 20 minutes from downtown so plenty close enough, but far enough away to feel like we were nestled in the countryside. A real treasure!"
