The Morillon station is part of the Grand Massif ski area which rises to 2500 m above sea level. The 5 stations (Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt), all linked together, offer 265 km of alpine ski slopes spread over 135 pistes. The Morillon-Samoëns site also offers numerous cross-country ski trails.

The chalet is located between the traditional village of Morillon, 700 m above sea level and the village of 'Les Esserts' at 1100 m in the heart of the ski area.

Morillon is located 3.5 km from Samoëns, 12 km from Les Gets, 25 km from Morzine-Avoriaz and 55 km from Chamonix.

The location for Morillon is fantastic and the property is clean and well catered for two families to share. An overall wonderful stay!" - "Chalet was perfect for our family skiing holiday. We were lucky as the chalet owners were also in Morillon (on holiday) the week we stayed. Hosts greeted us when we arrived and showed us how all the facilities in the chalet worked and also pointed out the facilities in the village. Hosts were very helpful throughout our stay. Ski bus stop is short walk away from chalet. Ski buses take you / pick you up from Morillon Tele Cabin or Samoëns Tele Cabin. There is good intermediate skiing in both of these locations and you can ski across to Carroz and Flaine on blue runs easily. (We had some beginner skiers with us). There is a lovely restaurant with views across to Mont Blanc at Flaine 2500 which I would recommend! After dropping off our skis and boots at the chalet at the end of the day, we walked back to the main street of Morillon village and shopped for our tea most days. (15 minute walk from the chalet). We found the small food shop (Vival) and the bakery in Morillon met all our needs. There is also a pharmacy, butchers, ski-hire shops, couple of pubs and restaurants in the same area. There is a supermarket in Samoëns but you would need a car to drive there (or take a taxi). The chalet has a large garage area which is very useful for storing skis / boots / shoes/ coats etc. This area is not heated. The children loved the play room in the basement and spent a lot of time in here! There is a washing machine and dryer in here if you need these. Cooking facilities are good if you are self-catering: induction hobs, full oven, microwave, kettle, toaster. There are plenty of pots / pans / serving bowls etc. The kitchen also has a large fridge / freezer. There are no free cupboards for storing food in the kitchen, but there is a large dresser unit in the garage which we used to store our food. The large dining table seated us all very comfortably. The beds were very comfy and the chalet layout suited us perfectly. Some things you could take with you: hand soap x 2 (for the bathrooms), dish washer tablets, tea-towels. We hired hand and bath towels from the chalet owner."

Chalet Chouette is a charming 4 bedroom chalet, perfect for small groups, conveniently situated only a 5 minute walk to the Morillon ski lift and village centre and lac bleu.
Chalet Chouette is a very well-proportioned chalet, set out over three floors. The chalet was built by local artisans, and exudes a traditional alpine charm.
On the middle floor of Chalet Chouette is a lovely open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The well-equipped kitchen has plenty of workspace and cupboards, with everything you could possibly need for a week away. The living room has comfy sofas and a wonderful wood burning stove, to relax around after a long day on the mountain. The living floor is light and airy, and has patio doors which open up onto a covered outside dining area, and the south facing balcony, which wraps right around the chalet. There is a library of books for all to enjoy. Also on this floor is a bedroom and separate bathroom and WC.

On the top floor are the further three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms share a “Jack and Jill” style shower room, making them ideal for families. These bedrooms can either be set up as twins or doubles, depending on your requirements. The master bedroom on this level is large and sunny, with built in wardrobes and doors leading onto a private balcony with stunning mountain views. It also boasts an ensuite with bath, sink, WC and heated towel radiator.
Please note that it is also possible to sleep a further two guests on a sofa bed in the living area.

Chalet Balmat is located above Morillon village and within a practical distance to the ski lift. The location is perfect for privacy and to enjoy an authentic mountain experience. It takes less than 10 minutes by car to reach the ‘Telecabine de Morillon’ lift connecting you to the Grand Massif ski domain in winter, which boasts some of the best skiing in the world. Suitable for all levels, there is over 275km of piste and 139 slopes to explore and plenty of off-piste for more advanced skiers. In the summer, this area is a hub for adventure sports such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding.

A car is essential at this chalet. However for larger groups, or those with a scattered arrival time, you may additionally opt for a transfer service directly from Geneva Airport, which will take you directly to the chalet. For bookings between November – April, we recommend that you have a 4×4 or at the very least, snow chains in your car. The road is ploughed 2 – 3 times daily but it is always a good idea to arrive prepared for heavy snow conditions. if it snows heavily during the daytime. It is legal requirement in the French Alps to come equipped with snow chains that specifically fit you vehicle

Other details:
A car is essential to get around. The chalet is located above the main village. It takes around 5 minutes to reach the ski lift and snow chains may be required during periods of heavy snow. There is no ski bus.

Though rare - due to the mountain location - it is also possible that the wi-fi internet is at times slower depending on weather and time of year.

Pet Policy:
We are dog-friendly and can accept one small/medium, well behaved & house trained dog at an extra charge of €100. We ask that all furry guests are kept out of bedrooms and prevented from climbing onto furniture. All dog litter should be removed from exterior spaces (garden, porch, patio and green spaces around the property). Pets must be declared at the time of booking, with details including age, breed, size and temperament.
