L'Abri du Giffre is situated in the hamlet of Le Brairet, 1.5 km north of Sixt Fer à Cheval. Access to local skiing is 1.5km from the chalet and access to the whole of the Grand Massif, which includes Samoens 1600, Les Carroz, Flaine, Morillon and Sixt; via a free ski bus from the village or a ten minute drive to the gondola at Samoens, where there is plenty of parking.
Sixt village has ski hire, a bakery, a mini supermarket, restaurants and bars.
The chalet has five bedrooms on three floors - three double rooms, one with an additional single bed, one triple bedded room and one small double bedded room. Two contemporary bathrooms, a large lounge with wood burning stove, an open plan dining area, fully equipped modern kitchen, a mezzanine area and balcony with stunning views of the Alps. There is a large utility area with washing machine and storage for skis and boots. We have a selection of bikes for our guests use.
The chalet has a garden to the rear of the property which backs out onto fields. There is a patio at the front of the property which benefits from lovely morning sun, so an ideal place to eat breakfast looking out at the sunning mountain views.
The national park of Cirque Fer du à Cheval is at the end of the road. You can access this beautiful area from the chalet, with miles of fantastic walking. In the cirque you can horse ride, mountain climb and ice climb. There is white water rafting and access to the Via ferrata from the village.
The ski du fond starts in the national park and the tracks pass at the back of the chalet. A chalet for all seasons.
The town of Samoens is 5km away with an abundance of restaurants, bars, supermarkets, swimming pool and leisure activities. The village of Morillon has a swimming lake only 10 minutes away.
Included in the rental price is bedlinen and towels. We provide our guests with logs for the wood burning stove, which heats the whole chalet.
There is a barbecue for our guests use on beautiful summer evenings.
The chalet has a television that can play DVD’s, it is not connected to French television or the internet. However we do supply an HDIM cable to enable guests to stream TV through a lap top.

Chalet Florissant is located near the centre of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, where you will find a delicious bakery, mini-market, bars and restaurants. The location is perfect for privacy and to enjoy an authentic mountain experience. You may drive to Samoens or opt to take the ski bus to reach the principal ski domain from Samoens.

It takes roughly 10 minutes by car (or ski bus) to reach the high speed ‘GME’ lift connecting you to the Grand Massif ski domain in winter, which boasts some of the best skiing in the world. Suitable for all levels, there is over 275km of piste to explore and plenty of off-piste for more advanced skiers. In the summer, this area is a hub for adventure sports such as hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding.

Home Truths:

The driveway to the chalet is a single car width. You will be required to either reverse in or reverse out of it. Alternatively, you may park for free in town square by Tiffanie bakery and walk up to chalet on the public path. In snow conditions, winter boots will be essential to reach the chalet safely.

The lower ground floor contains a separate apartment dwelling, occupied by a friendly couple who use it as a base / second home with a separate entrance and not overlooking the garden. This will not impact your privacy or full use of the property during your stay. Both the garden and hot tub are exclusively for your use and we re-iterate that the chalet is completely independent and private. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.

A car is recommended to get around. However there is a ski bus stop nearby. It takes around 10 minutes to reach the ski lift in Samoens.

We are happy to provide guests with a baby cot (folding type) and high chair.

The garden is on a wide plateau, but is not enclosed and does have a steep drop off at the front. We ask that guests acknowledge this fact and supervise children and pets at all times.

The chalet is not wheelchair accessible. For those with reduced mobility, please note that there are stairs and steps within the property. Please also bear in mind that access in winter may be slippery for elderly guests.

Its relaxing, neutral decor reflects its wonderful location in the beautiful village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, which is surrounded by stunning scenery — don't miss the Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval, a wonderful natural granite amphitheatre, and the wonderful waterfall walks nearby.

With three double bedrooms (one with an en-suite shower room), a family room with a double and a single bed, and a fifth bedroom for four with two sets of bunk beds, there's plenty of room for two or three families to enjoy a holiday. There is also another shower room and a bathroom.

The ground floor is wonderfully bright and airy, with full-height windows and doors to the garden. There's a seating area with two sofas and chairs around the television, and a fully-equipped kitchen area with a breakfast bar and a dining table. The cottage is set in a small subdivision with several independent identical cottages. It is on the road leading to the Rouget Waterfall 1km from the center of the village.
You can get around by bike, but it's advisable to have a vehicle.

Other things to note
It is important to know that the master suite is located in the basement and is not accessible directly from inside the cottage: You have to go through the terrace and go down a few outdoor steps. This configuration ensures the tranquility of the occupants but can be a problem for a couple with young children. L
On the other hand, access to the mezzanine is via a steep and narrow staircase and the mezzanine has a ceiling height of 160 CM, so this cottage is not recommended for very young children, for people with disabilities or large people.
The location for parking the car is quite narrow and may be a problem for large vehicles but there is plenty of parking space available along the road.

For those who want to do some serious skiing, a ski bus takes you from just above the chalet to the lifts of the Grand Massif ski resort (Flaine-Samoëns) a few minutes away.
The small Sixt ski resort is connected to the Grand Massif by the Piste des Cascades (waterfalls' ski run), a 14 km long blue run.

Fabulous all year round, Le Clocher has been renovated to the highest standard with everything you may need to feel at home in your mountain retreat.There is a log burning stove ( with plenty of logs) in the cosy sitting area. Three luxurious double rooms (one can be made up as a twin) all have ensuite shower or bathrooms and there is a generous family shower room adjacent to the 4 bedded bunk room.
The large well equipped kitchen has a double oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer.

The space
The property is surrounded by patios so dining outdoors in the summer is perfect. The large decked area incorporates a spacious hot tub for 8 people and the rear patio has a sauna with wonderful mountain views and a BBQ which is available in the summer season. There is parking for two cars on site and there is plenty of additional parking 2 minutes away on foot.
The kitchen is well equipped with a double oven, microwave, dishwasher and induction hob. There is a raclette and fondue and filter and tassimo coffee machines together with plenty of cooking utensils.
The smart TV allows you to watch French cable TV and Netflicks.
There is a boot room with electric boot dryer and a utility room with a washing machine and dryer and additional fridge and freezer space. There is secure storage for bikes.
The property is in Sixt fer a Cheval which is a beautiful mountain town and takes it name from the Cirque de Fer a Cheval which is a Grand Site de France and not to be missed.
It is also 10 minutes drive from Samöens a picturesque medieval town which has a beautiful swimming lake and a pool complex open in the summer.

We do not let the chalet to groups of young people under 25.

Very good access a proximity to the Samoens 'Grand Massif Express' ski lift by ski bus or car - Perfect for skiing, snowboarding, hiking and countless other adventure sports. The chalet is located in the 'Sixt' natural park, which is one of the most stunning and untouched parts of the French Alps.

The space
Chalet Henriette is a recently modernised chalet with warm rustic charm. The property is located in Salvagny, just a few minutes from the beautiful village of Sixt and within 10 minutes drive of Samoens town centre and the ‘Grand Massif Express’ (GME) ski lift.

This family home combines the charm of French rustic and clean modern design to provide accommodation for 10 guests in 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.

The ground floor contains a fun and cosy living space with a fireplace and mountain views, a TV room snug and the kitchen. It is the perfect entertaining space, with deep, comfortable sofas and a large ash dining table, ideal for elaborate family dining. 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are also located on this floor and a further 2 ensuite bedrooms on the first floor.

Each of the 4 bedrooms are uniquely designed and include 3 ensuite double bedrooms and an ensuite Bunk bedroom sleeping 4.

There is parking for two cars to the side of the property and surplus parking for further 3 cars in a nearby carpark.

Other things to note
The chalet has an apartment below the main house - this is lived in by a local French ski instructor who can offer his services to you during your stay (in winter only). Access is completely separate to the main chalet and does not affect your privacy in any way. The only place where you may cross paths, though unlikely, is via the garden access basement hallway / washing machine room below and separate from your part of the chalet. (his bathroom is across the hall from his front door). However the garden will be completely yours and I re-iterate that the chalet is also completely independent and private. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Please note: You must always notify us of any pets ahead of your stay! Only a maximum of 1 small/medium well-behaved and house trained dogs are welcome on the condition that they do not climb onto sofas, beds and other furniture. They must be kept off sofas / furniture and not allowed in bedrooms. All dog litter must be picked up from exterior spaces. A €100 surcharge will apply if bringing a pet.

We will send you a short tenancy agreement and information including maps and directions when the booking is complete. This does not affect Airbnb terms and conditions. We also require a copy of the principal tenant's passport along with a list of persons and ages who will be present during the stay.

Chalet Sisu is near the top of the village, so whilst road access is good there is very little traffic. The access road leads to the front of the chalet, but at the rear the garden opens directly onto the slopes - wonderful for skiers, children and explorers of all ages!

From the chalet you can ski direct to the local pistes (blue and green runs – great for family skiing and for mixed ability groups).
For experienced skiers the Grand Massif Express lift gives fast access to the whole Grand Massif ski area (165 runs). This lift is 8 minutes drive away, or alternatively take the ski bus which departs from a bus stop just 100 metres from the chalet.

Chalet Ferme Maison Neuve is a stunning 210 year old barn in Salvagny, Sixt, that has recently been renovated to very high standard. From the outside, the chalet may look like a simple farmhouse, but once inside you’ll be amazed by the fine combination of old and new wood, charming original touches mixed with up-to-date practicality.

This charming chalet comfortably sleeps 10 in beds. All the bedrooms are situated downstairs – there are four bedrooms including a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. A further double bedroom, a twin bed room and a bunk-bed room with 4 bunks as well as two further bathrooms. It also equipped with a small sauna.

Upstairs in the main living area, this majestic space provides plenty of original wooden beams, high ceilings and large windows offering views to the surrounding landscape. This open plan space contains a large open plan, modern kitchen with a cooking and breakfast island, a separate dining table and sitting area on either side of the glass fronted fire place. Upon confirmation of your booking, we will request your email address in order to provide you with our booking formalities (short tenant contract etc) and useful house / local information. This does not affect Airbnb terms and conditions. We also require a copy of the principal tenant's passport along with a list of persons and ages who will be present during the stay

Chalet Ferme Maison Neuve is self-catered but we can provide you with local catering options and food basket services.

Pet Policy: We are dog-friendly and can accept up to 1 small/medium, well behaved & house trained dog at an extra charge of €100 per dog. We ask that all furry guests are kept out of bedrooms and prevented from climbing onto furniture. All dog litter should be removed from exterior spaces (garden, porch, patio and green spaces around the property)

Children: We may provide a high chair & baby cot upon request - unfortunately a stair gate cannot be provided due to the design of the staircase. Parents will need to be fully responsible for the safety of their children .

For bookings between November – April… We recommend that you arrive prepared for heavy snow conditions. It is legal requirement in the French Alps to come equipped with snow chains that specifically fit you vehicle

Please be aware that you may not always be able to park directly in front of the chalet – in the event of very heavy snow.

Nestled in the charming village of Salvagny/Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval 10 minutes from Samoens, Maison La Cerisaie is a luxurious 4-bedroom Family & Friends chalet, each with en-suites accommodating up to 12 people. Enjoy a wood-burning stove, semi-professional kitchen, jacuzzi, TV, games, even a piano. The chalet is steps away from the beginner slope in Sixt or drive/take the free shuttle to the Grand Massif ski area, 12 minutes away. Perfect for skiing, relaxation, and unforgettable mountain escapes!

The space
The chalet is luxuriously appointed with a TV/games room, lounge, ski boot & utility room, dining room, and semi-professional kitchen on the ground floor and 3 double bedrooms on the first floor (which can be converted to singles) and a bunk bedroom with 2 bunk beds (4 singles). One bedroom has a sofa bed. The outside terrace has a large jacuzzi and a dining table/chairs. There is a separate yoga studio (photo shown) in the garden which does not form part of the main house but can be rented on a daily basis by prior agreement. As the bedrooms are on the first floor the chalet is not suitable for those with mobility challenges.

The chalet has its own entrance and is exclusively used by the guests as is the terrace and jacuzzi.

10 min drive to Samoens Grand Massif Cable Car, there is also a free shuttle that can take you there and back, the stop is 50m from the house.
A lockable large dry cellar accessible from the road is available for bike storage. Please request when booking. Our beds are of the highest quality and all the bed linen is Egyptian cotton ensuring a very good nights sleep!
