A traditional mountain chalet, the Charmélie 1600 enjoys an ideal location, located above Flaine Lake, where its landscape is called "Little Canada", and 700m from the slopes of the Grand Massif ski area. The surrounding hiking trails allow you to discover remarkable natural sites. Flaine is a resort renowned in winter for its snow and its extraordinary panorama, but also the summer with its golf 18 holes, one of the highest mountain.
A former 17th century alpine farm, the Charmélie 1600 has been renovated in 2018. This chalet has kept its authenticity while combining comfort, modernity and charm. Its large living room can accommodate groups up to 40 people, and is divided into several spaces where everyone will find his place: bar, large living room, small lounge, dining area, and leisure area. The 7 rooms can accommodate up to 15 people. All have been designed for your comfort and practicality, three have their own shower. A modern kitchen, equipped with professional equipment, will allow you to prepare all your favorite dishes. A large central fireplace will warm your winter evenings. A corner cocooning was arranged in front of the picture windows where you will be able to admire a splendid landscape.
This 250 sqm mountain rental is ideal for family reunions or holidays with friends, for ski holidays in winter, and to enjoy beautiful mountain walks in the Alps in summer. The exterior has a large garden and parking 1000m ² without vis-à-vis, with a beautiful panorama of the mountains, where it is possible to install a marquee for receptions, weddings or other events up to 80 people.

The little story
In 1991, the singer Hugues Aufray had built the chalet in a holiday camp for children ("Indian summer"), with sports and equestrian shows. Then it was exploited until 2017 in Savoyard restaurant ("the farm of Sartot").

- "Charmelie is a wonderful chalet in Flaine. It’s very spacious downstairs with a large, well stocked kitchen including a big oven and 3 fridges. We ordered fresh bread and croissants each day which were delivered by 7am. We were a group of 15 which included 6 adults, 3 teenagers and younger kids ranging from 2-9 years old. The beds were very comfortable however anyone staying with the maximum number of 15 people would need to be aware that the 4 beds in the mezzanine area are very cramped and with little headroom and no storage space so really only suitable for young children. Some of the bedrooms have very little storage space for clothes. We were pretty much living out of our suitcase with clothes on the floor in some of the bedrooms. Overall I would recommend Charmelie as there are so many positives. It’s only a 10-12 min walk (uphill) to the Forum area where there are restaurants, a small supermarket, the main Gondola and ski school meeting place are situated. The chalet itself is stunning. It has a real fire, x box with projector, table football and lots of space downstairs. The only small issue for our size group was the clothes storage. If a couple of chests of drawers could be added in the mezzanine area it would help for any large group who might be at maximum capacity. The owners were lovely, responsive and even allowed a slightly earlier check in. Thank you for a fantastic holiday! We hope to return one day soon."

From the Hameau roundabout you can take the “Opal” slope to access the Gérats chairlift (depending on snow conditions). To reach the other slopes and return to the Hameau you benefit from a free shuttle service; they run all day, every 15 minutes.



In the Hamlet, you will find a ski equipment rental store, a bread store, take-away pizzas and a restaurant, where you can enjoy tasty traditional cuisine from the region. For larger purchases you can go to the Spar supermarket, located in the “Les Terrasses d'Hélios” Residence.

- "Situated in a good spot awkward access down the steps when ice, NO garage ! parking on road only when it was advertised with Garage ?, form to fill in on arrival we think was done by a child of around 5 years old made no sense whatsoever, Kitchen has no extractor fan so the entire house up to the bedrooms filled with steam and smoke from cooking , the Bathroom has no extractor fan and the shower goes straight past the glass panel onto the floor , washing machine works fine but the dryer nearly set on fire no exit for the hot air in the machine so heat builds up if we had not stayed in to check I dread to think of the outcome !!! , the floor and carpets were covered in black and grey dog hair's along with human hair and no one has ever cleaned under the table or sofa , two lamps had spent bulbs , kitchen worktop cracked and delaminating Entrance door james , main chalet door catch does not work and they said they would fix it but did not , wardrobe in main bedroom supposedly for clothes is only 2 feet six inches tall cant even hang trousers so not used . I could carry on but pointless as they never came to address any issues we had , I would NOT recommend this house /Chalet as it currently is. sorry but we have to be truthful about this One more comment we videoed the entire property from top to bottom and cleaned it thoroughly absolutely spotless and now they have told me it needed cleaning and will deduct money from my deposit be very careful with this company !TV upstairs!"

- "Worked well for 4 friends sharing and wanting own rooms. Kitchen equipment a little limited i.e. no spatula for frying. Downstairs bathroom is a little tired looking. Had a problem with upstairs bath tap which was resolved next day by service company who were at all stages helpful. Great log burner. 3 minute walk to bus stop or ski run. Return at end of day to bus stop 2 and then 3 minute walk down hill home. One minute from general store and restaurant. Well positioned."

From the Hameau roundabout you can take the “Opal” slope to access the Gérats chairlift (depending on snow conditions). To reach the other slopes and return to the Hameau you benefit from a free shuttle service; they run all day, every 15 minutes.



In the Hamlet, you will find a ski equipment rental store, a bread store, take-away pizzas and a restaurant, where you can enjoy tasty traditional cuisine from the region. For larger purchases you can go to the Spar supermarket, located in the “Les Terrasses d'Hélios” Residence.

To reach the resort's activity centers, you can take the free shuttles - Skibus (during the day) and the Hameau evening shuttle (from 6:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.) which drop you off, in just a few minutes, at Flaine Forêt d' where you reach Flaine Forum where most of the bars, restaurants and activities are concentrated.

Our cottage is a beautiful south facing triplex (82m2), with stunning mountain views. In a 4* residence, free access: shared wellness area (swimming pool, sauna, steam room...), fitness room, bar-restaurant, reception lounge, billiards table.

It includes a friendly living space, 3 bedrooms (double beds) with private bathroom/wc and a 4th open bedroom (2 single beds), which can serve as a cozy 2nd living room and 2 beautiful terraces of 24m2.

The space
Our chalet is located at the end of a small paved pedestrian path, quiet.

Under the outside staircase access to the chalet, there is a room shared with the twin chalet, with access secured by badge, where a ski locker and shoe warmer are at your disposal.

The cottage includes:
- On the ground floor, two beautiful rooms with their private bathroom and toilet. The bedrooms, with closet, give access, through a window door, to a terrace with view (path level).
- On the 1st floor, there is an entrance hall with closet and a separate toilet with handwasher and mirror. The living area is accessed: a living room with a 3-seater convertible sofa, an armchair, a swivel TV, a dining room with a table for 8 people and a fully equipped kitchen. Two large bay windows open onto the lovely terrace with a view. A garden furniture with a table with 8 armchairs complete the furniture that is available for your use.
- On the 2nd floor, a bedroom with private bathrooms and toilets and its balcony.

We access our cottage by an external, wooden staircase. This is a common access with the neighboring "twin" chalet. At the top of this staircase, we arrive on a landing (at the intermediate level of the triplex) where the two front doors are located: ours is on the right. We then access the living floor: entrance hall with wc, living room, dining room, kitchen.

Welcome to chalet 33!

Our chalet has 3 floors, the top floor where we have two cozy bedrooms (1 of the rooms can also be used as an office and has a sofabed) and a fully equipped shared bathroom, the ground floor with living room, kitchen, reading corder and dining room, as well as our large outside deck with a great view on the mountains. Downstairs, we have two additional bedrooms, two bathrooms and our skiroom.

The space
The rooms are cozy and have everything you need. Sheets are provided, as well as towels. All are washed after every visit and the entire chalet is cleaned from top to bottom. You can also expect small amenities such as little shampoo bottles and soap. We have tried to continue the scandinavian style of our chalet in the decorations of the rooms. Clean and cozy.

Guest access
No matter what location you come from, you will have to drive up the mountain at the end of your drive. This is a drive of about 30 minutes that takes you through the mountains to Flaine. A perfect preview of what awaits you when you reach the top of the mountain and the hameau appears. On the way to Flaine you will also come across a number of small villages/towns that are worth visiting/shopping for later. These are: Cluses, Arâches-la-Frasse and lez Carroz.

Other things to note
As far as groceries are concerned, the first place to shop is often the Super U (at the foot of the mountain, just before you start the 30-minute journey up). The Super U is located at the following address: 180 Allée des Noyères, 74300 Magland. One can also do shopping at the top of the mountain, but the options are more limited (2 small shops nearby) and are better used for small purchases such as fresh bread and vegetables. There are quite a few restaurants in Flaine Forum, and a fantastic restaurant (l'Ancolie) in the Hameau itself.

Our two storey attached chalet (84m2) has a separate entrance with a storage room. On the ground floor, we have a very cozy living room with log burning stove and dining area, fully equipped kitchen, double bedroom, separate toilet and bathroom. On the upper floor, we have a mezzanine with a single bed and a sofa bed, a second bathroom, and a second bedroom with two single beds, a pull out bed, a sofa bed, a desk and a small balcony. Our terrace of the living room has panoramic views.

The kitchen will be stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, spices and necessary cleaning materials. In the bathrooms, you will find small toiletries. There are enough cupboards and storage in every room and mezzanine to put away clothing and other personal items.

The chalet will be cleaned following French government Covid 19 cleaning and sanitary requirements. Covid 19 items such as masks, disinfectant, etc. will be provided.

The Flaine hamlet is located outside Flaine resort, 400m altitude above the resort.
A free shuttle connects the hamlet to Flaine every 10 min and brings you in 5 min to the resort center.
From the chalet, a 3 minutes walk gives you access to the ski slope connecting to the global Grand Massif ski network.
At the center of the hamlet, a good restaurant and a very good ski shop.
A free private minibus taxi available for you on telephone call will bring you to the resort and back from 6 to 12pm.

We have decorated the chalet as complete as possible, and every year we try to improve the comfort and decoration. We stay in Flaine about six times a year, so it really has become our second 'home'!

Other things to note
The house was built according to Norwegian plans. So the insulation is very good and the ventilation system continually refreshes the air. Therefore, it is not necessary to open windows ( but that's obviously not prohibited) . The presence of 10 persons is sometimes enough to sufficiently heat up the chalet. You can also turn on the heating, with windows closed of course. To dry your ski jackets and the like, it is sufficient to hang them on the hooks in the entrance hall. The drought in the mountains is usually enough to get them dry.
The garage is for one car + skis. There is enough free parking outside as well.

A traditional mountain chalet, the Charmélie 1600 is ideally located above Flaine Lake, where its landscape is called "Little Canada", and a 10-minute walk from the slopes. The surrounding hiking trails allow you to discover remarkable natural sites. Flaine is a resort known for its snow and its extraordinary panorama.

The space
A former 17th century alpine farm, the Charmélie 1600 has been renovated in 2018.This chalet has kept its authenticity while combining comfort, modernity and charm. Its large living room can accommodate groups up to 40 people, and is divided into several spaces where everyone will find his place: bar, large living room, small lounge, dining area, and leisure area. The 7 rooms can accommodate up to 15 people. All have been designed for your comfort and practicality, three have their own shower. A modern kitchen, equipped with professional equipment, will allow you to prepare your favorite dishes. A large central fireplace will warm your winter evenings. A corner cocooning was arranged in front of the picture windows where you will be able to admire a splendid landscape.

This 250 m² mountain rental is ideal for family reunions or holidays with friends, for ski holidays in winter, and to enjoy beautiful mountain walks in the Alps in summer. The exterior has a large garden and parking without vis-à-vis, from where you can admire the view of the mountains.

The little story

In 1991, the singer Hugues Aufray had built the chalet in a holiday camp for children ("Indian summer"), with sports and equestrian shows. Then it was exploited until 2017 in Savoyard restaurant ("the farm of Sartot").

In the Hamlet, you will find a ski equipment rental store, a bread store, take-away pizzas and a restaurant, where you can enjoy tasty traditional cuisine from the region. For larger purchases you can go to the Spar supermarket, located in the “Les Terrasses d'Hélios” Residence.

The residence:
Look no further, you have found your next vacation destination! The Chalets of Flaine Hameau are all more beautiful than the others, perched at an altitude of 1800 meters.



In a quiet area, on the heights of the resort, you will enjoy an exceptional view of the natural cirque of surrounding mountains.



On the ski side, you will be located just a few minutes from the ESF gatherings and the Club Piou Piou de Flaine (next to the “Les Terrasses d'Hélios” Residence).

From the Hameau roundabout you can take the “Opal” slope to access the Gérats chairlift (depending on snow conditions). To reach the other slopes and return to the Hameau you benefit from a free shuttle service; they run all day, every 15 minutes.



In the Hamlet, you will find a ski equipment rental store, a bread store, take-away pizzas and a restaurant, where you can enjoy tasty traditional cuisine from the region. For larger purchases you can go to the Spar supermarket, located in the “Les Terrasses d'Hélios” Residence.

To reach the resort's activity centers, you can take the free shuttles - Skibus (during the day) and the Hameau evening shuttle (from 6:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.) which drop you off, in just a few minutes, at Flaine Forêt d' where you reach Flaine Forum where most of the bars, restaurants and activities are concentrated.



Also note for chalets that do not have a private garage, parking at the entrance to the Hamlet allows for weekly parking.
