Our family chalet is a cosy authentic house built more than 100 years ago located in a typical village in the heart of Haute Savoie. It’s very calm and you are within walking of the local shops. You can buy local cheese and” charcuterie”. It’s surrounded by the fields and the mountains. 3 star chalet according to UDOTSI (Union départementale des offices et syndicats d'initiative) de Haute Savoie.
In winter time you are next to a child friendly ski area. Mont Saxonnex is a small village and family ski resort. Ski facilities are within walking distance (5 minutes by ski). You are not really far from Flaine, Avoriaz, Megeve, Chamonix.
In summer time you can chill out in the garden with a view on the mountains. You can walk, hike and bike, everything is in front of our doorstep. Lake Benit is an hour walk from the chalet. There is a ski lift in summer which will take you up to the lake Benit with your bike . Either in summer or winter there is so much to do.Not far from Italy or Switzerland.

The chalet is located in the hamlet of Vuargnes, 3 km above Mont-Saxonnex. This is the last house, at the end of the road. There are no cars here. You will enjoy the silence and total immersion in the mountains, benefiting from a breathtaking and peaceful landscape. The evenings are cool, even when it's the heatwave in the valley. Ideal for a week of walking and resting with family or group of friends. At sunrise, you can often see a deer.

This house is an old farmhouse that my parents bought in 1967, which they completely restored at the time, and which I have since 2 years ago developed and improved to be able to rent it and widely discover this extraordinary place. The chalet is spacious and very comfortable. You can be 12 people without getting in the way. Garden furniture will allow you to have lunch outside if desired.
Here no Wifi but we receive the local 4G/5G network.

Guest access
From Mont-Saxonnex, there are two access roads, which are dirt roads that can be driven on and are passable with a normal car, except that it is preferable that it is not too low to avoid touching the road sometimes.
The main path is the one starting from the Bété road. For the latter, when you leave the forest, it crosses the ski slope and then leaves a small yellow chalet (the arbors) on your left. You then arrive at a fork where on the right, a steep jeep path climbs which is the normal path to climb to Lake Bénit, and on the left, a path that you have to take and which descends gently for a hundred meters to a small bridge. From there, take the path that goes up. Then after leaving the forest, take the path on the right that climbs steeply for about twenty meters before arriving at the cottage.
If you take the 2nd path, you will leave from the hamlet of Faux or Feux, and you will join the 1st path at the level of the small bridge where you will simply have to take the turn twice.
In front of the cottage, you can easily park 4 cars in the house's private gravel parking lot.
The nearest railway station is Cluses, 8 km and 15 minutes away by car. There are taxis that can pick you up from Cluses for about 40 euros.
