The place's surroundings are majestic, with a large cedar tree in the front yard and a backyard directly adjacent to unlimited hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country trails connecting to Tahoe's cross-country skiing trails system. There's no need to drive anywhere and find parking for trails. Houses in this area are greatly spaced from each other. We are located 5 min from the nearest beach, 7 min to Tahoe City, and 10 min to Kings Beach. 15-20 min to Alpine, Palisades and Northstar ski resorts.
This newly remodeled property features two living areas, two fireplaces, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms. One of the living areas is set up for cozy hangouts in front of the fireplace the other living area includes a dining area and a TV room. The high wood ceilings have substantial beams, making for that chalet feeling. The kitchen has a 6-range stove and French refrigerator. This house has been lovingly decorated and furnished as a treasured home.
The bedrooms are set up as follows: a Japanese-style king bed in a large master with an en-suite bathroom and TV. Three smaller bedrooms, One with a high Murphy bed-style queen that converts to a large desk. One queen sofa bed and one with a full bed.

Green's Haven is a cozy country cabin nestled in the woods on a private street. Access to a great beach just down the hill and only minutes from an amazing network of mountain biking trails. The perfect place for a couple of couples or a small family looking to relax and getaway from it all in beautiful North Lake Tahoe!

Great knotty pine wood finish throughout with natural light in every room. The small kitchen is quite functional with a 30 inch stove, fridge, microwave, and oven, but no dishwasher. Eating area for 4-6 people with a sitting area, steps down into living room with flat screen TV/DVD, wood-burning wood-stove, full/double sofabed, and card table.

Bedroom downstairs with a set of bunk beds and a queen bed. 3/4 bath in the hall. Narrow stairway leads upstairs with low ceiling at the top so watch your head! Bedroom upstairs has full/double bed and attached 3/4 bath. Accordion door and shutters close off the loft bedroom for privacy. A large deck out back with sun chairs, bike storage underneath and a propane BBQ. Access to a HOA beach with great BBQ area, double-decker pier, and dog friendly hours.

You will love the private balcony this room features, the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee while taking in the fresh mountain air! An en suite bathroom provides added comfort to this room, so you can easily freshen up before tucking into bed. The bathroom boasts a large single-sink vanity with ample drawer and cabinet space for storage and a large shower with lovely tilework. The bathroom features a second door that can be accessed from the hallway for shared use. A second bedroom is situated at the other end of the hallway, a warm and inviting space with a full-size bed, nightstands, a dresser, and a large closet providing plenty of room for you to unpack your personal items.

The Neighborhood:
This cozy townhome is located in the sought-after Carnelian Woods area surrounded by trees and a small stream, so you can enjoy the beautiful nature and peaceful surroundings right outside your door! Within walking distance to the house, you will find an endless network of National Forest trails perfect for walks, runs, and bike rides in the summertime. Just a 2-minute drive, or a short walk, will take you to Patton Beach, a dog-friendly beach that is great for swimming. Nearby Patton Beach you will find more entertainment and dining options such as the famous Garwoods Bar and Grill, a wonderful lakefront dining experience, CB’s Bistro and Pizza for family dinners, Magic Carpet Mini Golf and Arcade for the little ones, and a 7-11 for all of your late-night needs. The beautiful Carnelian West Beach provides another excellent swimming spot just a few minutes drive from the home.

In the winter months, you are only 16 minutes from Northstar, 25 minutes to Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, and 10 minutes from the Tahoe City Nordic Center where you will find a huge network of trails for XC Skiing or snowshoeing. Those wonderful trails on the National Forest system near the home are perfect for enjoying some XC skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months.

If a little less physical activity is what you are looking for, you are just a 10-minute drive west to Tahoe City and 8 minutes east from Kings Beach. In both places, you will find sandy beaches, farmers markets and major grocery stores, golf courses, small boutique shopping, waterfront parks, golf courses, weekly concerts in the summer, and a wide variety of bars and restaurants. You are also 10 minutes from the Nevada state line, where you will find casinos and concert venues. This home is the perfect launching pad for any Lake Tahoe experience!

Getting Around:
Centrally located off HWY 28 and within walking distance of two public transportation stops, you can comfortably get by without having a vehicle if needed. Just a half-mile from the home is the public transportation TART stop at Hwy 28 at Sierra Boat Co which will take you to locations such as Kings Beach. Also located half a mile from the home is a second TART stop on Hwy 28 at Old P.O. Coffee Shop, from here you are a 17-minute bus ride to Tahoe City. Easily connect to other locations at the Tahoe City Transit Center, where you can find buses to locations such as Northstar California Resort. The home is also nearby a Night Rider bus stop, please note that the night rider bus is only offered seasonally.

Those with a vehicle enjoy being close to HWY 28 and the quick access it provides to the beautiful surrounding areas, with less than a 15-minute drive to Tahoe City and minutes away from the Nevada state line. Just a two-minute drive will take you to Patton Beach, and the popular Kings Beach is an 8-minute drive away. In the wintertime, you are centrally located for skiing all of the best resorts with a 25-minute drive or less from three of the area's best ski resorts, Northstar, Squaw Valley ski resort, and Tahoe Nordic Cross Country Center.

During the next 2-3 weeks, roof work will be underway at the Carnelian Woods complex, scheduled for completion every day, except the 4th of July, between 8 am and 6 pm. Please note that there may be some noise during this period.

The pool and lap swim are closed for the season and will re-open after Memorial Day 2025, depending on snow and weather. The hot tub is currently open on weekends, with expanded hours planned for ski season. Tennis courts are available seasonally but currently lack lighting, and the lodge is open daily with hours depending on staffing, offering equipment like bocce balls, volleyballs, and an outdoor ping pong area for sign-out. Please note, there is no barbecue area available for renters.

Charcoal grills are strictly forbidden in this county and will result in a $1,500 citation if used.

4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.

Enjoy vacationing with family and friends in Tahoe's North Shore when you stay at our tahoe cabin. We have a 7-person hot tub and wifi internet. From the deck, you can see peeks of the lake through the trees in the backyard and great beaches are just a few minutes drive away. Or just walk or bike two blocks from the front door on National Forest Service trails and a paved multi-use biking and running path.

The Lake Tahoe area claims the highest concentration of world-class ski areas in the country. Tahoe City, with all of its shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and golf course, is only three miles away. In five minutes you can be on the beach at Skylandia Park or you can be skiing at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, or North Star, all 9-15 miles away. The Tahoe House is conveniently located to both summer and winter activities.

Situated on a third of an acre, the house boasts a backyard with a 7-person hot tub under the stars. You will also appreciate the flat driveway, which is a plus in the snowy winter, and up to five cars can park in it.

The bedrooms are downstairs and the upstairs is one BIG open living room with a kitchen and half bath. You and your family will relax while enjoying the open feeling of the open-beam vaulted ceilings and the forest views on all sides of the house while warming up next to the wood stove. A seasonal creek runs through the property. Children are welcome and amenities such as a portable high chair, Pack n' Play portable crib, step stool, nightlights, outlet plugs, child gates, and games are provided.

We furnished The Tahoe House for your enjoyment as well as our own. The home has a well-equipped kitchen, high speed cable internet with wifi, two TVs, DVD player, stereo, dishwasher, washer and dryer, coffee maker, hair dryer, and other amenities to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Linens are provided and the queen-size beds will make your evenings extra cozy. Other included extras are firewood, cable TV, and snowplowing of the driveway in the winter. Smoking and pets are prohibited.

For those coming for a winter getaway, this home puts you near some of the best skiing in the area! The Tahoe Nordic Cross Counter Center is just a 5-minute drive away, and both Palisades Tahoe and Northstar Ski Resort can be reached within 20 minutes. In the summer months take on the Tahoe Rim Trail which is a 3-mile hike from the home, or a 10-minute drive on a dirt road. Or have a beach day at Kings Beach, which is just 10 minutes away from the home. For those in your group looking for a little less outdoor time, Tahoe City is less than a 10-minute drive where you will find many cute boutique shops, a wide variety of bars and restaurants, farmers markets, and live music.

The home is within a 10-minute walk to the nearest public transportation stop on Tahoe's public transportation system called TART. This stop is on the Mainline and is stop HWY 28 at Old County RD, which runs every hour. Take advantage of the home's close driving proximity to Tahoe City and make the short 10-minute drive where you can use the FREE park and ride to reach locations such as Olympic Park and Northstar California Resort.

Please expect winter driving conditions from November to April. As the property is at the end of a 100 yard hilly gravel driveway, we highly recommend that you bring a 4WD or an AWD vehicle with all-terrain tires. Or, but not guaranteed, at least snow chains for your 2-wheel drive tires are necessary for safe travel. We do have crews that service driveways and parking lots, but it isn't possible to remove 100% of the ice and snowpack. Even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days, side roads can still be icy and have snow on them. Please also be aware of long travel times and pass closures due to winter weather conditions.

If you are renting this home from April until the first snowfall, there are NO fires allowed in Lake Tahoe.

In memory of my heritage, we'd like to welcome you as guests in "THE SWEDISH COTTAGE", where many of my family's inherited items and treasures from years of living and working in many parts of the world have found their home. We find it a perfect getaway for a couple looking for rest and adventures in nature.

"THE SWEDISH COTTAGE" is an 800 sq ft independent dwelling that backs up to the National Forest. It is secluded though placed in the very sought after Ridgewood Highlands neighborhood. About 10 minutes to Tahoe City or Kings Beach. A 25-minute drive to downtown Truckee. We avoid most of the common traffic that typically flows from North to South.

The COTTAGE is on the same property as the main house where my husband and I live with our youngest son and two dogs, a Maltese and Goldendoodle. A parking space is reserved for you in the driveway. The garage below is not part of the rental. You have private access to the cottage, using a keypad. Please don't hesitate to contact us during daytime hours.

The BEDS have Casper mattresses with duvet down comforters and cotton sheets. The daybed will be made up as a bed instead of "sofa" upon request.

KIDS: We love them (We have 7!) But! The cottage is designed for adults only. There is no child-proofing, an open staircase and 2-story balcony.

PETS: We love them too! (We have 2!) Asta and Sally live on the property. We cannot allow other pets.

If a guest has MOBILITY impairment, an electric stair-lift bypasses the stairs to the main floor. Please let us know ahead of time if you will need access to the chair, so we can have it ready and provide you proper instruction. Safety grab bars are installed in the bathroom next to the toilet and in the shower.

Agate Bay is conveniently located close to Tahoe City and Kings Beach, both great lakeside towns with wonderful restaurants, shops, grocery stores, boat/bicycle rentals and much more. World class ski resorts including Northstar, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are a short drive from the cabin. Behind the Agate Bay neighborhood there are hiking/biking trails that eventually lead to the Tahoe Rim Trail.

All ABP vacation rentals come equipped with high-speed Internet, linens, towels, kitchen supplies (toaster, coffee pot, dishes, pots/pans, utensils), washer/dryer and BBQ (summer only). If you have special requests, please let us know.

Important:

On March 11th 2022, Placer County implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500 - $5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance.

Some Highlights Include:

•Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am. No noise shall be heard across property lines. No outdoor speakers or amplified sound.

•Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
