They have a fully kitted kitchen with everything avaialble to cook up your meals. We took all our own food so our two days away from the city was super inexpensive. We spent time relaxing by the fire, knitting and reading, or out walking the local area. This place is very clean. 7 minute walk (downhill) to the ocean front (bit of an incline to walk back). The Yellow House sits on an expanse of private land, surrounded by trees and an air of calm. Except for the occasional visit by deer, you can stay here in total seclusion, yet it's only a ten-minute walk to the Gumboot Cafe and other services if the mood takes you. A ten-minute walk in the other direction gives you beach access. There's a hot tub, a wood burner, cozy nooks and comfy places to read, write, or do nothing. It's a haven for creative thinking - you'll find there's something about this place that brings on the ideas. And if you love reading, stretch out on a sofa or garden chair, and enjoy a book from The Little Library of The Yellow House. If you're not really into writing, reading or doing nothing, don't worry, you'll be cured during your stay.
There are three bedrooms - two have queen beds and one is set up as a writing room/study, with the sofa turning into a futon bed to sleep one. It also has a walk-in closet with a place to hang clothes. The house sleeps 5 adults max. I don't take big groups.
Fancy being a writer in residence? Just request a letter of approval from me and use it in your grant application to the Canada Council or BC Arts Council.
- "This was our 2nd time here, and it was equally awesome as the first time. We just love it there. Communication with Jackie was excellent, the descriprion of the property accurate, and our expectations completely met. We just love this place and we are already planning our next gateway at the Yellow House." - "We had a lovely weekend at the yellow house. It was just what we were looking for, a comfortable quiet place on a beautiful treed property, in close proximity to the beach and charming Roberts Creek. We spent our time exploring the garden, walking to the beach, and wandering into Roberts Creek to the Gumboot Café. During our trip we saw deer, seals, golden eagles and bald eagles, and many birds. It was lovely, and we hope to return!"

As featured in Canadian Living magazine, Cottage Living magazine, and on the 604now's Bucket List for 2017, the Micro Cabin is nestled on a heritage homestead surrounded by lush garden and towering cedars. The ocean and the heart of Roberts Creek are two minutes away. We are located halfway between Gibsons and Sechelt, making it a perfect homebase to explore the Sunshine Coast from. Enjoy a solo retreat or a relaxing getaway for two while trying out tiny house living!
We built the 125-square-foot Micro Cabin after being inspired by the tiny house movement. Guests should be aware that this is a tiny cabin, which means - it is a tiny cabin! The space is small but bright and airy, with high ceilings and lots of windows and natural light. We think you'll find it to be carefully laid out and thoughtfully appointed. The full-size bed is made up with 100% cotton linens to ensure a good night's sleep. The kitchen is well stocked with all that you need to make something delicious. The bathroom is a fully tiled wet bath like that on a boat. There is plenty of outdoor space here on our private acreage to sit and daydream or finally start writing that novel. Relax at the picnic table with a mug of hot tea and watch the sunrise or gaze at the stars. If you're lucky you might see one of our resident deer and her two fawns wandering around the property. Black bears live here too!
Our small homestead is one of the oldest in Lower Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast. We live on the property in a farmhouse that was built in 1926 for the area's first schoolteacher. We look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you.

We respect our guests' privacy but are always happy to share the 'insider scoop' on neat things to do around here. We want to make sure you have a terrific time in this beautiful place we call home.
- "Good stay. Loved the little cabin, bed was super comfy!" - "Awesome" - "Very cool and inspirational if you are interested in a taste of living small:)" - "We truly enjoyed our stay at the micro cabin. The cabin was as listed and felt private. Everything that we needed was provided. The binder had lots of helpful tips and recommendations. Some top tips were eating at the Gum Boot Cafe in Robert's Creek, grabbing dinner in the Gibsons marina at Smitty's, and taking advantage of all the hiking in the area. I was glad that our host recommended that we get our ferry tickets in advance as we were unfamiliar with the process and would've waited a long time. We appreciated her consistent flexibility as we had some unexpected changes to our itinerary and she was very accommodating."

* If the Hot tub experience is the main reason you are booking with us, we kindly ask before booking your accommodation dates, that you send us an inquiry to confirm the hot tub’s availability. Also, please have a good read of the listing description to ensure you fully understand all of our offerings and limitations, especially as they relate to the Wood Fuelled Hot Tub. :)
Welcome to our 'Cedar & Sea Cottage' rental, nestled in the heart of an enchanting cedar forest and just a ten-minute walk from the beach. Immerse yourself in nature and experience the peace and tranquility this unique location offers.
The Space
Our two-story cottage's rustic Scandi charm will make you feel right at home. It's perfect for snuggling up with a good book or sharing a glass of wine with friends. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay.
Both bedrooms of this private two storey home feature comfy queen-size beds, ideal for couples, families, or friends. If you need space for a fifth guest, we can set up the Daybed in the living room, which converts from a couch into a cozy bed.
Guest Access
Step into our serene forested yard, where giant cedars loom and sway gently. For an additional fee, we can prepare our magical wood-burning hot tub next to a gentle creek, and 30 meters from our main house. We also have a registered massage therapist on site. Nearby Dorris Lane leads to a beautiful forest path that eventually spills out onto the ocean beach.
Wood-Fueled Hot Tub Experience
Thank you for your interest in our highly sought-after early evening hot tub experience! Before booking your accommodation dates, we kindly ask that you send us an inquiry to confirm the tubs availability.
For a fee of $150 CAD per night, and when available, we are delighted to prepare our wood-fuelled hot tub for you. Here’s why this unique experience is truly special and priced the way it is:
Preparing the hot tub is a labor of love, requiring about 5 hours of work. We refill the tub with every new guest using pure, chemical-free meltwater from our creek. To clean the tub, we use only natural Castile soap, a splash of vinegar, and plenty of effort, ensuring a mineral-rich, fresh water soak without any harsh chemicals. Heating the tub is equally detailed, requiring four large wheelbarrows of chopped wood to achieve the perfect temperature.
The result is an extraordinary experience: relaxing in pristine water warmed by a crackling wood fire, surrounded by the natural scents of the forest rather than chemical odors.
After each use, we return the water to the creek as pure as when we borrowed it, minimizing our environmental impact.
The setting itself is magical. Towering cedar trees sway overhead, and the ambiance is enhanced by the glow of candlelight. We can arrange cold beverages to complement your soak, and for those who enjoy cold plunges, there’s a refreshing pool in the creek just steps away.
Because the hot tub relies on a complex open-air wood stove, operation is handled exclusively by us. Please note that we cannot offer this experience during regional fire bans, which typically occur between June and October.
We hope this insight into the care and effort involved helps you understand the pricing of this one-of-a-kind activity. We look forward to providing you with an unforgettable experience!

- "Quiet, very clean, super comfortable bed. Nice little touches like fresh cream in the fridge for coffee, personal welcome message upon arrival. " - "We absolutely adored the suite. Very new, clean and bright, with way more kitchen amenities than we were expecting. " - "We had a really great stay for a night here for an impromptu trip to the Sunshine Coast. The property is very accessible and very very clean. You can tell that the suite is newly renovated and a lot of care goes into keeping it nice. You definitely need a vehicle, but it’s in a great spot in between Gibsons and Robert’s Creek for seeing everything. Would definitely stay here again. "

Consider this house your home away from home while you visit Roberts Creek. This lovely property boasts 3 bedrooms - 2 queen beds, 1 king bed, and a cozy sofa bed. With 4 bathrooms equipped with all the essentials, guests can relax and unwind after a day of exploring. Experience what Roberts Creek has to offer with a stay at our charming house.
- "Loved the accommodation, clean, very spacious, had everything that we needed. Location was great too, just minutes from Gibson's. Clean and modern, very comfy beds. The single pullout sofa bed would be too small for a teenager, but it was adequate for my 11 year old. We had 5 adults and 4 kids and it worked out just fine. Only 2 points of caution - Pictures need to be more securely fastened as the pins don't provide enough support in my opinion, and the big one looks very precarious. The entrance/exit driveway closest to Gibson's has a sharp transition from tarmac to driveway and the bottom of both our cars scraped against the tarmac as we joined the road...so use the main entrance at Sullivan road. Overall, all 9 of us loved the accommodation and would definitely stay again. "

Architect designed rustic modernist retreat, Twin Peaks cabin is in the heart of Roberts Creek. Built into the bedrock and surrounded by trees, this two bedroom cabin, built in 2021, offers an elevated respite on the Sunshine Coast. Amazing kitchen and gas BBQ for the gourmand, and plenty of deck space, a fire pit, and a sauna. A perfect place to get busy in the kitchen, or do nothing at all. At night subtle lights illuminate the beautifully designed landscape.
Two minutes walk to the Gumboot Cafe and Restaurant, General Store, and five minutes walk to the beach. Central, but private.
In cooler weather the heated floors in every room keep you and your feet warm and dry, and a wood burning stove adds extra warmth and atmosphere.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with all the cookware you’ll need, dishes, glasses etc. Ground and whole bean coffee from Straight Coffee Roasters (Wilson Creek) is provided for the drip or French press we have. Black tea is also provided. Cooking basics like olive oil, salt/pepper, and spices are in the cupboard.
We ask guests to be respectful of our neighbours. If you’re coming to party, it’s not a good fit.
- "This space is perfection. Simple, elegant, and thoughtful. I felt like I was living someone else’s (very tasteful) life. And that was exactly what I wanted for a special birthday weekend. Sarah, the owner, was really responsive to all my inquiries before and during my stay. She happened to be overseas when I was there so there was lag time in some responses due to time differences. But that was not a big deal, especially when I realized what was going on (just explaining the 4 and not 5). I don’t think I’ll ever forget my stay at this spectacular property. It has inspired me and I hope to go back soon."

Lovely open plan living space for hanging out with friends and hosting. Comfortable rooms." - "Unfortunately you can tell this property has been well used since the initial photos were taken and didn't live up to the photos depicted in the listing. It would really benefit from a deep clean. Lots of debris buildup on surfaces, windows and in drawers. I did communicate this with the host who informed me they would rectify the situation and make it up to me, but then I never received any follow up communication even after making an additional inquiry. Hopefully this will be rectified for future users of this property. The good things...central location, enough space for large group, ample parking, host did communicate check-in instructions promptly. Due to the style of accommodation (basement suite), regular household sounds from above travelled into the suite such as foot traffic and kitchen sounds. The wonderful amount of natural light from the walkout style suite did make for a bright morning wake up. Cannot speak to sound travel between neighbouring suite as it was vacant. The Abode is a stylish, boutique cottage in the heart of the forest in the idyllic community of Robert's Creek, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of BC. Newly renovated, with bespoke design and thoughtful features, this peaceful sanctuary was created as a retreat away from the busy city for discerning guests. It is fully equipped, and features an 8ft cedar barrel sauna in the backyard, looking out into the lush forest. It is only a short walk to the beach, and centrally located to amenities.
We are dedicated to being as available as needed to ensure your comfort during your stay and to help you discover the best amenities and highlights of the Sunshine Coast community.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need any advice on making the most of your visit.
Robert's Creek is an idyllic community on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. There is a quaint cafe called the Gumboot cafe and restaurant close by, as well as a general store open 12 hours a day, and several shops. The cottage is close to the ocean, and many breathtaking hikes nearby such as Cliff Gilker Park or Dakota Ridge for hiking in the summer and snowshoeing or xc skiing in the winter. The nearby towns of Gibsons and Sechelt have every civic amenity and restaurants/stores you would expect in a city.
From the Abode, the trail at the end of the driveway is a short trail that ends at Malcolm Creek which is a cascading rock waterfall in rainy months, with a shallow basin and bridge there. It’s quite beautiful. The trail also connects to Woodley Road which connects to Lower Road which then further connects to several beautiful public beach access points. Try Metcalfe access point off Lower, or Stevens. This time of year it’s pretty low tide and sand bars in certain spots.
We know the Coast well and are happy to recommend activities, including secret beaches and hikes to our guests.
Guests have access to the entire Cottage including almost 2 acres at the bottom of the property.
The Abode is a spacious 900sf cottage with luxurious design features including in floor heating throughout, queen beds with washed linen coverings, turkish cotton towels, and a rainfall shower. The kitchen is custom built, and is equipped with japanese stoneware, high end cookware and cutlery as well as a Nespresso machine and teas. An 8 ft Cedar barrel sauna sits in the lush forest behind the cottage, as well as a barbecue and outdoor seating area. You'll find everything you need in the Cottage whether it's for an escape to think in solitude, or to experience the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Our cottage is directly connected to a provincial trail that leads to a waterfall within a 5 minute walk, and the beach at the ocean within a 15 minute walk. It is secluded, yet centrally located halfway between Sechelt and Gibsons, as well as the quaint Robert's Creek community within a 4 minute drive.
Our cottage can easily accommodate up to 3 vehicles for parking on the property. The community has a municipal bus service, but no Uber or riding sharing services. Taxis are not common either, but can be arranged on advanced notice.
Please keep in mind that our beds can seem firm for those who are used to a soft mattress.
- "Add a dresser for clothes along with a couple of tea towels and a place for our food" - "We had a great weekend on the Sunshine Coast. The house was in a great location, with a short walk to the beach. Along with being an awesome place to hang out both in the living room & outside by the fire. 10/10!" - "Great quiet location for a girls getaway! The place had everything we needed especially the well stocked kitchen! It was a little cold for us due to the only heat source being the in floor heating even though we turned it up. We had an unfortunate power outage that lasted the whole night so it was extra cold! Mattresses were too hard for our liking and beds too small! It was a very muddy trek to get to the sauna but it was a great experience and nice after a day of snowshoeing! A short walk to get to the wonderful beach! Overall a great little place and I would recommend it!"

O my down side was the bed was really u comfortable and was a little musty smelling. Other than that I recommend this place for any couple looking for a small getaway." - "Being frank here, I hope this can be used to upgrade her place. We place our suggestions here and not on her site as she will surely lose business I HAVE PHOTOS TO PROVE THE FOLLOWING. 1. You enter through the backdoor/ laundry room 2. In the kitchen and bedroom there were locked cupboards (which created an unwelcome feeling) and when asked she said it is where she keeps her cleaning stock. However, there were lots of products under the sink, under the bathroom closet and in the laundry. 3. Loose electrical wires in the kitchen without a light fitting as well as an uncovered electrical box in the laundry - again, I have photos. 4. Bedroom 4.1 dirty windowsill 4.2 cupboards without doors plus the one 'padlocked', 4.3 no mirror. 4.4 one window without and blind / curtain - I hanged my clothes there as a cover Bathroom, very small. Shower is 1' x 2.5' approximately. Showerhead very low (it reaches my husband at his chin. 5. Irritating handwritten notes were everywhere serving as do', dont's and info - I surely missed a professional Information folder. The daily rate asked was considered by us as not the value expected for the monies paid."

Lots of options to sit and mingle. The kitchen was large and spacious though a microwave would be nice. Communication with Breanne and her father Terry was very easy and responsive. We were the first to rent their home and there were a few things not entirely worked out but they responded quickly and made things very comfortable for us. The home shares a space with an apartment that is not entirely sealed from the rental space. The designation "Entire Home" is not entirely accurate. They quickly agreed that they would not use the apartment during our stay. All and all, a lovely space, we really enjoyed ourselves and wouldn't hesitate to return for a second visit. "

This is the Bottom floor of the gorgeous beach house listed on VRBO listing number 1331379. We are renting it monthly for the winter and spring. 400 m walk from the charming quaint town of Roberts Creek. Work and relax by the ocean, have a BBQ , take the kayaks out in the late spring, play board games (over 30 provided in the cottage) . If the top floor is rented at the same time you will be sharing the outdoor spaces. Your Floor B is complete with a kitchen, large living room, large bathroom with two sinks, a shower and a lovely bedroom with a queen bed and a trundle bed for your child. All rooms with waterfront views.
- "Location, location, location.... The property is on the water with gorgeous views across the straight and it’s walking distance to amenities in Roberts Creek (e.g., General store and Gumboot restaurant & cafe). We loved the kayaks and fusbol table downstairs. The outdoor patio overlooking water is perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or a sunset aperitif. There are two parts of the property, upstairs and downstairs, that are rented separately. We stayed downstairs and loved our stay there. You do need to be aware of the proximity of neighbors (including potential renters of the upstairs property). Fortunately, the guests who rented upstairs during our stay were a pleasure, as were the owners and their guests who stayed the subsequent night. The downstairs property has one queen bed that sleeps two. Any additional guests (up to four) are invited to sleep on “rollaway” beds which are essentially portable cots and mattress pads. Overall, we loved our stay and I would consider staying there again. Thanks Rola for being super-responsive and a great host!"
