- "The stay was fine and the host a nice enough guy. However, just to lay out some facts: - The primary picture of the shed was taken before the units 1 and 2 were hung on the outside. The unit is half of that and you share a wall with another guest where you can hear everything they say or do. - The shed is about 50 yards from the primary house and about 50 feet from another structure that is an active construction site. - In order to turn on the AC, you have to stand on an old fold out wooden chair and reach for buttons on the top which you can't actually see unless you are 6'4"+. Terrible setup."

- "My partner and I spent our 5 year anniversary here and had an amazing experience. The yurt was wonderful, in great condition and had a wonderful working kitchen. The location is right by Southwest harbor. Couldn’t recommend any more!" - "We loved staying at the yurts. It is a great location. We loved that it was on the quieter side of the island as last time we stayed right in Bar Harbor. We enjoyed our evening cooking out on the grill and drinking wine after long days of adventures biking and hiking! We also recommend the float tank and the infrared sauna. They were so relaxing and the ease of scheduling was a plus."

- "Great location and small, but perfect, for what we needed!" - "Place was super clean and comfy. Highly recommend!" - "Location, location, location! Not only did this cute cabin meet all our needs and wants, it is perfectly nestled against the park. Walk into Acadia or take a short drive to all your ANP and island destinations. Thanks, Rob and Marge. We truly enjoyed our stay." - "When planning a trip to Acadia with my kids, I didn’t really know where to stay. I was fortunate to stumble upon this little cabin in Southwest Harbor. If you’re looking for frills, this isn’t your place, but with a location as perfect as this cabin, you don’t need them. The inside is cozy and met our needs well. The outdoor area is beautiful and has a grill, picnic table and plenty of yard space for the kids to play. The property backs right up to the park, so you can venture out on a nature walk right from the cabin. The location is great! It’s very quiet and peaceful and set back from town, so there’s no neighboring noise. Southwest Harbor is a quaint little town, which had a pace I preferred much more than that of Bar Harbor. All the hikes we went on were 30 minutes or less of a drive. The furthest we went was to Schoodic Point and that was about an 80 minute drive. There is a beautiful lake in Southwest Harbor that offers slightly warmer swimming water than the ocean offers. This was a wonderful place to hang our hats after long days in the park and definitely a place I’d recommend to others."

- "The most unusual and delightful place. Very roomy, exceptionally clean, a lot of well thought through spaces to spread your stuff, easy communication with the owners. I highly recommend wellness center, particularly massage with Alexandra. There is one note to be aware regarding Wi-Fi: we rented two yurts, we had reliable signal at Flying Mountain and less reliable signal at Sargeant Mountain. I recommend to check out these food places nearby: - Hodgdon’s seafood at Seal Cove - Quietside snacks at Bernard Thanks to Karen&Aaron for their hospitality."

- "Overall amazing experience. Only way to make it better would be to have a lobster pot in each yurt" - "The Dorr Mountain yurt was the perfect getaway spot that was close to Acadia National Park. The yurt was well stocked with easy access to additional items such as onsite laundry. The yurt was clean and comfortable for our family of four. Communication from the owner was great." - "A yurt vacation is a bucket list item and if you’re going to do it, this is the place. Our hosts were the best and literally were available for anything we needed, even when we requested last minute flashlights so we could hike Cadillac Mountain in the dark to arrive a sunrise (another bucket list item and must do). The location was ideal for both enjoying Acadia and all it has to offer as well as proximity to all 3 harbors. Every recommendation they had for food and activities was spot on. - "The Knollette is a fantastic place for staying near Acadia if you want to escape the crowds near Bar Harbor. The house is quaint, in a quiet location, and is plenty of space for four to spread out and relax. The true highlight is the property itself with the expansive back yard, surrounded by trees, complete with table, chairs, and a fire pit! We had many late nights enjoying a fire and the crisp, quiet, night air. It is also steps (or a bike ride) from the Causeway, and the Valley Cove and Summit Trails which offer beautiful views and challenging terrain for hikers, as well as Echo Lake if you want to go for a swim. Southwest Harbor is also a great little town. You have everything you need from a grocery store, cafes, shops, and some great places to eat lunch and dinner. All in all a cozy, quiet, and comfortable place to relax after a day of hiking and sight seeing in Acadia."

Walking to Acadia’s trails without having to get in the car was fantastic for our first day. Mattresses were comfy and the cabin was adequately stocked with supplies, cookware, and linens. Our only suggestions for future guests would be some glass ware for drinks and board games to play on rainy days or evenings. The Stanley home is a comfortable 2 bedroom family home nestled at the top of the hill at the end of a dead end road. The property includes a large back deck with patio set and grill for barbeque on summer nights. With an attached fenced in play yard for your pet and a large unfenced area out back for children to play, this is the perfect property for a family getaway.
You can choose to enjoy the quiet, nature filled back yard by the orchard or simply walk out the front door for ocean views. Just down the hill is a popular spot for photographers to capture the sunrise over the harbor. This home is a short 1/2 mile walk to restaurants and shopping in Southwest Harbor and provides easy access to hiking trails and Acadia National Park. In the summer and fall this rental is walking distance to weekly farmers markets and art vendors.
A few notes about the set up of the house:
1. Both bedrooms are on the second floor. The bathroom is on the first floor.
2. There is a bar style table in the kitchen that seats four people elbow to elbow. There is a more traditional dining set up on the back deck.
- "Stayed late July with my wife, two older teen children, and German shepherd dog. Beautiful and quiet location, yet close enough to all the attractions of Acadia. House was clean especially considering it is dog friendly. Enjoyed dining Al-fresco on the front porch and back deck. Saw many deer-including a Buck, out munching on apples in the orchard. Great stargazing at night too. Would definitely recommend!" - "The home was cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. Ashley responded to any questions we had in a timely manner."

- "Its amazing to arrive at your home away from home and discover it's even better than you expected. The beautiful yard and private location on the "quiet side" of the island are perfect when you want to escape the crowds." - "We traveled from VA with our 2 kids and pup and stayed a week in this cozy and very well- equipped home. The garden is just beautiful and the location on the quiet side is private but also still very close to so many hikes and the little village of Southwest Harbor. We hope to be back!"
