The heart of the Perch is the well appointed eat-in kitchen with adjacent 6 seat dining room. We love to cook so this kitchen has most everything you might need to cook at home including a big lobster pot!

There is a newer gas range with plenty of surface area for lots of pots and a large French door refrigerator with bottom drawer freezer. Of course there are stock items that include things like a coffee maker, coffee grinder, microwave, and dishwasher too. We also keep a variety of plastic bags, wrap, aluminum foil, etc. for your convenience.

The living room has a wonderfully comfortable leather sofa, various other seating for lounging, and a bookshelf full of books and games for you to enjoy.

The main bedroom and bathroom are on the first level so The Perch is ideal for a couple. Use the smaller upstairs bedrooms for a friend or older kids.

Over the years we have found that The Perch is best suited for a couple or a family with older children as it is an over 100 year old Cape style home. As is typical for older Capes the upstairs is accessed by a steep staircase and the ceilings are low in the upstairs bedrooms. For your sleeping flexibility there is a twin air mattress available.

Cooling: Please note that although there is no central air conditioning there is a heat pump in the kitchen that can be used for either heating or cooling.
There are also fans in all of the bedrooms to help pull in the cooler night air if needed. If anyone in your party is sleeping in the upstairs bedrooms please be aware that they can heat up quite a bit during the day since they are so close to the roof line. That being said the casement bedroom windows can be opened wide to get a nice cross breeze going and the oscillating fans help to cool the bedrooms by pulling in the cooler seaside evening air.

Heating: Heat pump located in the kitchen, forced hot air (oil furnace), and a propane gas cast iron Jotul stove in the living room.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a laundry room with newer HE front loading washer and dryer. Here you will also find the on-demand water heater and a recycling center.

Entertainment: The living room is equipped with a flat screen, ROKU box for streaming, and hook up for laptop/tablet streaming. Please note that there is no cable TV but we do have a ROKU box so you can stream movies/shows via Netflix (provided) and any other subscriptions you may have personally.

There is one bathroom with a claw foot tub/shower combination that is located on the main level.

The Perch has a deck located off of the kitchen with outdoor seating. This is a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee. Adjacent to the deck is a gas grill for your summer grilling enjoyment. If you have some smaller toys/bicycles you are welcome to store them in our shed.

Pets: We love animals and are pet friendly. Please just send a quick note telling us a little bit about your pet and we are likely to approve their stay too :) We do have a straightforward Pet Addendum that outlines common sense rules for your pet.

We went during the week of the Maine Lobster Festival and had easy access, within walking distance, to everything Rockland had to offer: the lobster festival at Harbor Park, the ferry to Vinalhaven and North Haven, art galleries, museums and lots of restaurants and shopping. Our host, Jennifer, was very attentive and answered any questions that I had. Her property management office is directly across the street, but we kept in touch through text messaging. - "We’ve stayed here multiple times and keep coming back. The place is very spacious, very well equipped, and tastefully decorated. The location provides ready access to the Farnsworth Museum, local galleries and several great restaurants. We came this year for the Lobster Festival which is a 5 minute walk from the unit. It’s the first time we came during a very hot stretch. The owners were kind enough to provide a portable cooling unit that kept the apartment comfortable. We hardly recommend!"

You'll love this quaint 1 bedroom, 5 blocks from downtown Rockland which is full of great restaurants and artist galleries. Four blocks from the ocean, the Rockland Harbor, Farmer's Market, and parks. Five minute drive to Owls Head with a light house, beaches (including the white sandy beach, Crescent Beach), and the general store (voted best burger in Maine!). 10 minute drive to Camden. Here, you're in the middle of everything!
We are right around the corner from the famous Conte's, and a 5 minute walk to Primo.

The space is complete with a couch, full bath, full size bed, and TV with Netflix and Hulu Plus. Free WiFi. Off street parking available. I provide breakfast items like bagels, oatmeal, and some condiments. Coffee and tea is also provided.

This is a completely private space sharing walls with a house. It has access to a beautiful little backyard (with a hammock!), in a quiet neighborhood. There is also a 3 person infrared bamboo sauna in the backyard available for your use!

- "We chose this apartment because of its location. It was a 2 minute walk to the lobster festival. The apartment was small but cozy. The bed is full size so made it a tight squeeze for 2 people but we managed. There was a parking spot for 1 car across the street which was convenient. They had wifi and roku hooked up to the tv. There was no regular tv or cable so you couldn't watch any local news. They have a small fridge, microwave, hotpot for use. Only sink was in bathroom so don't expect to cook or clean. Overall we had decent experience. If we ever came back to rockland it would be for 1-2 nights and I would stay in Camden which is a 15 minute drive . "

The apartment, as advertised, is clean and nicely kept with all of the essential furnishings. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was stocked with basic supplies. There are beautiful water views from the top balcony. The owner was helpful and responsive, answering all of our questions and addressing any concerns immediately. - "We had a wonderful time exploring Rockport. While we were not able to make it to Monhegan Island, there was plenty for us to do and see. A great gathering place if traveling with family and friends. Enough room to spread out without being on top of each other. Check-in was easy and there was plenty of info left to help us navigate the apartment, Rockport and surrounding area. The host were near, but we did not need to reach out. Apartment was very quaint, with antiques and plenty of artwork which we all enjoyed. Catherine was helpful in suggestions on places to eat...and they did not disappoint.
