I was able to fully participate in the conference without bothering other guests. Breakfast was pretty good for the price of the room. There was juice and coffee, cereal, donuts, toast, bagels, and muffins. The room was clean and in pretty good shape. The cleaning staff were amazing. I was there for 4 days and they would quietly provide more towels, etc. while I continued my conference. I would highly recommend this hotel for a great budget friendly stay."

House location in the city is fantastic, not too far away from anything, quiet neighborhood although there is a hospital nearby so there's an occasional ambulance. Outside: The gravel driveway enters/exits sideways from a hill and is a bit of slope down. Rain has washed away much of the gravel where the drive meets the street and there's a gap that some cars will get stuck in, or even have had time getting up the driveway. There was a large pile of blown leaves by the garage door and much of any landscaping needs a little time. At first glance it looks kinda abandoned. A large portion of the driveway is shaded by trees and yo can get about 1/3 of a car under the garage overhang. Inside: Awesome. Looks new. Sofa, TV w/ faux fireplace. Bedroom, soft VERY comfy bed. Overall, a spartan layout. A couple of nice chairs (1 each in BR and LR) would be a cool touch. The kichenette area is well set. Wine glasses, silverware, serving / cooking utensils, etc. all ready to go. There's only a small microwave, no stove or oven. There's a dish sink and everything needed to knock out dishes is under the sink. Only thing missing was running water. Checking underneath, no results. I didn't use any dishes this time, but maybe next time... Bathroom was cool, big fluffy towels and hotel size courtesy soap if you need it. Lots of hot water!! Outside by the door would be a great spot for a patio setup. If you have a couple of chairs in your vehicle, get em."

We call the home "Herman's House," named for Herman Brendel, the man who built it for his bride, Bernadette Koester, in the early 1960's.

While we don't provide breakfast, we have several great options. You can always bring your own food and make use of the kitchen; just down the road is Joe's Market (a fully-stocked grocery store with Hunt Brother's Pizza available); there is also the Eagle Stop with Godfather's Pizza; and Towne Club and Pizza Haus is located on Main Street. The Westphalia Inn coffee house offers all your morning cravings!

- "Gorgeous property and home. Extremely clean and very peaceful. It would be an excellent place for someone with small children." - "Our group (4 adults, 2 kids) really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. The farmhouse was charming and kids loved the animals (goats, donkeys, cows, turkeys, bunnies, chickens, geese, peacocks, pigeons). Bring quarters for the feed machine so you can feed the goats. Also bring your walking shoes and take one of the trails in the woods. The hosts were accommodating and set up the fire pit with firewood for us as well as took us on a tractor ‘train’ ride two different days. There were plenty of blankets and towels for all guests, with a kitchen stocked with kitchenware. This made it easy to cook family dinner. We got to go into town and eat at the Westphalia Pizza Haus as well as picked up food and drinks from Paul’s Market. The place and town was quiet, though the Farmhouse is livelier in the fall when their pumpkin patch and Westphalia Trading Company are open for the season."

There are new air conditioning units throughout the space for summer and electric fireplaces for winter. The railroad runs parallel with the river and while it no longer stops in town, is a reminder of how the former stop supplied the county with many goods.

A boat ramp is located less than one mile from our location. This MO Conservation river access is open daily with free parking.

This spacious downtown loft is the perfect place to host events and entertain with a fully stocked gourmet kitchen featuring a chief’s gas stove, double oven, commercial refrigerator & breakfast bar.
The space
The primary bedroom features a king memory foam bed, an ensuite bath with a walk-in shower with dual shower heads, large soaking tub, double vanities and walk in closet. The second bedroom offers a Queen memory foam bed, full closet and access to the patio and rooftop deck. Third bedroom has bunk beds with 2 full sized mattress.

Kick back and relax on the deck overlooking the Osage River. Fish, swim, kayak or bring your own boat! Boat ramp is only 1/4 mi away. Watch fish jump and Bald Eagles fly. Grill and eat outdoors, Firepit by the edge of the bank overlooking the river.
There are no tvs in the house as we hope to promote a peaceful getaway
also no dishwasher, bring paperware if you prefer not to wash dishes to often!
When the river level is low there is a beautiful sand bar in front of the cabin. When the river is higher, that sand bar is covered. River level can fluctuate frequently, I am happy to update on current levels anytime, so you know how to plan. When it's higher kayaking and swimming will be a bit challenging.

- "We stayed at the property for 2 nights and it was a quaint, clean, and cozy stay. We originally intended to have my in-laws stay with us, the listing states sleeps 4, and we assumed 4 adults but it more so sleeps 2 adults and 2 children (or 1 other adult) since the “pull out futon” is more of a twin size bed not queen. So we had to get a hotel for the in-laws, but overall happy with the experience. " - "The place was nice. It was a fairly quiet area. I enjoyed the hot tub and the massage chair. The house was a good fit for what we needed. The owner was very responsive to requests and made our trip as easy as possible. I highly recommend. The bed was very comfortable. The pull out sofa was not what I expected, but it worked for our needs. I would stay here again."

The Lester Parker property, the neoclassical revival home built in 1905, is on the National Register of Historic Places and sits on the corner of historic Capitol Avenue and Lafayette Street. Diagonally across the intersection is the old Missouri State Penitentiary and directly across Lafayette Street is the Missouri State Penitentiary Museum and Penitentiary Tour Ticket Office.

It is a peaceful place to relax with family and friends. 10 minute drive to Jefferson City and 15 minutes to State Technical College in Linn. Please note the entire property is smoke free. Main bedroom has a queen bed with tv in the room. Second bedroom has two twin over full bunk beds. Kitchen has granite counters and a large dining table. Keurig coffee maker. TV in the living room. With two sofas and a chair. Washer and dryer available for guests to use. Wifi. Large deck with patio furniture overlooks the river. Firepit and firewood provided for the guests.
