Quite simply the best of views: overlooking Cap Ferrat, the Rade of Villefranche and Beaulieu bay , there is the constant movement of boats and sails against the blue sky and turquoise sea. Inside is a generous sitting and dining area, a fitted kitchen and sleeping for 12 arranged as follows: master bedroom , double bedroom and twin bed room all with en suite bath/shower rooms and air conditioning are in the main house. Villa Ciany is a charming Provencal, detached family villa with air conditioning set in mature gardens and enjoying magnificent views over the Bay of Villefrance and Cap Ferrat. The villa is situated approximately 10 km from Nice airport, 12 km from Monaco and 24 km from the Italian.

This villa and gardens are south facing and enjoy the sun throughout the day. Being in an elevated position, the views across the Bay of Villefranche are magnificent. The villa benefits from a heated pool, which is serviced throughout the year. There is a covered pergola beside the pool, which is ideal for eating meals out during the warmer months and in the evenings with seating for 8 plus guests. In the pergola, we have a fridge / wine cooler and loungers for use by the pool. A maid or our manager will meet guests on arrival and arrange cleaning etc. A gardener tends the gardens 5 hours a week and will dispose of the refuse. As villa Ciany is within easy traveling distance of Nice, Monaco and the Italian border by car or train, there is plenty to do for each individual taste. The villa is well furnished and in excellent condition. There is a large open space lounge with French doors leading to the terrace, also a spacious dining hall and separate study. A large secure garage is available.

It has beautiful gardens, pool area, a modern kitchen, comfortable beds, lovely furnishings and a very spacious layout with a spectacular view. It’s the little things like providing robes, quality towels, lovely bedding, toiletries and kitchen products which just made our stay even more welcoming. It is up the hill from Ville Franche Sur Mer waterfront (hence the wonderful views) with many steps down to the harbourside which we did (even in the heatwave!) but we used taxis back which were readily available. All in all, a fabulous holiday in a beautiful part of the world and I’m already recommending it to friends!"

- "We had a fantastic stay in Villefranche. The house is rustic but full of character and we had a great amount of space for our group of 2 families (4 adults and 2 young children). The views from the terrace were wonderful and we had relaxing breakfasts and dinners around the table soaking it up. Although the equipment in the kitchen/ bathrooms etc was pretty old-school everything worked perfectly well and we had almost everything we needed for our stay. Only thing that would have been appreciated that wasn’t there was hand soap/ washing up liquid. It was annoying to have to go out and buy these things on arrival. Shops, restaurants and the beach are all walkable but it’s a serious workout getting back up the hill, especially with shopping on board! We used the buses and trains to get into Nice which were quick and easy. Only big downside for us was the bedding situation- having to pay separately, in cash, for sheets (and cleaning) is not only very inconvenient when you are arriving after a long journey, it just seems so outdated and gives an unecessarily bad first impression. I would really recommend the host to change this as it’s just the very least you expect when you book a place to sleep that you have a bed and bed linens to sleep in! Even in the most basic hostel dorms I have stayed in they have managed to provide this. I sure they can do it and if they had, we would not have had a bad word to say about our stay (is it worth it?!)"

- "We loved JP's house and the view. Nice location on top of the hill in Villafranche. Convenience store about 5 minutes walk down the hill, town a 20 minute walk down the hill or a short car ride. Lots of cabs in town for the steep walk back. Centrally located for train rides throughout the Riviera. Would definitely stay here again." - "We spent 12 nights in September 2022 at this property. The views really are spectacular. The house is well equipped and has most everything you need. There is a grocery store, bakery, butcherie and bank within a 4 minute walk. It would be very helpful if the owner had a phamplet or booklet that gave you information about the bus lines and stops. For example, Bus #33 which takes you into Nice actually doesn't stop at Col du Villefranche stop, it just makes a U-turn and stops at the Forrestier bus stop past the grocery store. On the return, you would take #33 with Mt. Boron on the bus sign. Additionally, in taking the direct bus #82 to Eze, be prepared for the bus to not even stop due to overcrowding as it originates in Nice.. Since it only comes every 2 hours, waiting for the next one is not an option. I'd recommend just getting a Taxi which will cost around $70. The walk to Old Town takes about 15 minutes. We first walked down and back over 600 steps (brutal) and then discovered our own path using the roads. As mentioned in prior reviews, there are 43 steep steps from the entry gate down to the entry door of the property. The property is hard to find as all of the house numbers are same. The outside of the buiding is white and is near the end of the gravel road. The owner was very responsive. I am sure you will enjoy this beautiful property."

This offers the best of both worlds, a private view and situation but the convenience of being in town. It is a light, airy, uncluttered space to truly relax in. With a lift to every level in the house, it also suits those who find the steps of Villefranche too much sometimes!

Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom and also a full bath on the living area floor. Bedroom furniture is simple, basic and could use some interior decorating pointers, but beds are very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen with induction cooktop. Recommend replacing coffee pot. During our stay a few glitches arose, and response by property manager, Tamsin & her husband Christian was immediate and prompt. Tamsin was also very helpful in answering some of the questions we posed about the area. Kudos to both! A great plus is that the home has an elevator going from the garage and stopping at each of the three floors as walk up to top floor is over ninety winding steps and not easily managed by everyone. Our family loved it and I would definitely return and stay there again!"

Guests can access the private, fully air-conditioned property via glass elevator, which first stops on the infinity pool level including several beautiful terraces, plenty of sun loungers, and a jacuzzi.
