Alameda is a charming island town filled with old Victorian summer homes. Large sunny beach. Windsurfing, Kite-boarding, Sailing, Sun Bathing. The town has many local pubs and restaurants.
The apartment unit has a floating dock in front of a large outside deck. It's a great place to to BBQ or just sitting on our dock enjoying San Francisco Bay, the one-bedroom unit has an attached bath and shower and a small side room with a small refrigerator, toaster, coffer maker some other amenities. The bed room can accommodate two people in the comfortable queen-size bed.
There is a large outside deck overlooking our boat dock. There seems to be a constant parade of kayaks, paddle-boarders, and boater passing up the canal.
A pleasant 20-minute ferry ride from Alameda will take you to the Ferry Building in down town San Francisco. Alameda's South Shore Beach, just a 10-minute walk, is a great place to sun bath or take lesson for Kite-boarding.

It offers complete privacy to anyone who stays here. It is in the Gold Coast neighborhood of the city which is a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Its access to the 880 freeway to Berkeley and San Francisco and just about 2 miles from the Oakland Airport..

The large living room has a real redwood ceiling with light, brick chimney and a white gas fireplace standing on black marble tiles. A comfortable sofa, coffee table and side table. It has an air conditioner unit for the few days in summer when you may need it. This unique living room has 2 large windows which looks out to the redwood deck, the view of the trees and down to the beach 3 blocks away. It also has a 46' HDTV with AT&T INTERNET 1000 (FIBER 1 GIG) high speed.

The kitchen has new kitchen cabinets installed. It is fully equipped for cooking. All stainless steel appliances with dishwasher, microwave oven, gas stove/oven, refrigerator/ice. All utensils, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, coffee cups, coffee maker, toaster and everything you would need.

The master bedroom has 1 queen size bed, dresser and night stand. It also has a 46' HDTV attached to the wall with a mounting bracket so that you can move it around. Large closet and a small reading room, an office desk and chair for the business executive. The second bedroom also has a queen size bed and large closet. The 3rd bedroom has 2 twin size beds. All the mattresses are comfort mattresses to provide a good night sleep.

The private deck is made of solid redwood and has a large redwood table where you can sit and eat while enjoying the view. There is a large avocado tree hanging near the deck with lots of avocados. The deck is private and is fenced around to provide the privacy you need. Many guest spend time having dinner on the deck when the weather is beautiful.

The bathrooms are totally remodeled. Bathroom #1 is a full bath with tub and shower. and new sink. The floor is white marble tile. Bathroom #2 is a 1/2 bath with a new toilet and sink and cherry vanity. Both bathrooms are stock with towels, toiletries, soap, shampoos, hair conditioner and a hair dryer.

There are 2 washing machines and 2 dryers in the laundry room downstairs on the 1st floor of the building.

The penthouse is just 2 blocks to downtown Alameda's historic Park Street which has around 40 different kind of restaurants, shops, museum, a movie multiplex, fresh produce market and live theater. Grocery stores like Safeway, Nob Hill foods and Trader Joe's, 7 local winery tasting rooms at the former Alameda Naval Air station.

San Francisco is just 20 minutes drive away over the Bay Bridge or via BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and the Alameda/Oakland ferry to San Francisco. The Oakland Airport is just about 3 miles away.

Things to know that will help future renters and that will hopefully be added to the VRBO profile. - Three flights of steep external stairs to get to the unit. - There was only one designated parking space instead of the two spaces specified. - There is a low roofed part of the building that juts out over the driveway just a bit. It’s a tight squeeze and untenable if you have a large or tall vehicle. Our Audi SUV and Denali fit just fine, but it was close! Overall, we had a wonderful experience. So good in fact, I felt a bit conflicted writing the review, wanted to keep it all for ourselves."

Bright and well appointed 2BR apartment (1200 sq ft) in garden level of a charming 1890s Victorian. First bedroom has a queen bed. The other (larger) bedroom contains a twin which converts into a king bed as well as a sofa. Extra mattress can also be placed on the floor to create a 2 twin bed room. (See photos for configuration options) Living room contains a large sofa and room for a queen air mattress (provided upon request) for additional sleeping options.

Great East End Alameda location - quiet and residential, but just a few blocks to Park St and 1/2 mile to the beach and South Shore center. Chochenyo Park is two blocks away. The AC transit O/OX bus stops 1 block away and takes you directly into Downtown SF (Salesforce Transit center). Downtown Oakland is just a few miles away and also easily accessible. Oakland Airport is just 10 minutes away by car.

Please note that we live in the main house directly above the apartment and have two small children. Therefore, we have to ask our guests to respect quiet hours after 8PM.

The Alameda Ferry Terminal is also nearby for hops over to San Francisco or Oakland's Jack London Square. This apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with or without kids).

The space
**For everyone’s safety, we have in place a 2-day buffer between guests during which time we thoroughly clean and sanitize!**

This 900-square-foot Victorian in-law apartment has many original moldings and built-ins, plus a lovely claw-foot tub for long soaks. The large eat-in kitchen has full-sized appliances, and there is a washer and dryer in the bathroom. In addition to the flat-screen TV, we've stocked the living room with games and books for relaxing times indoors. You'll notice that the apartment stays wonderfully cool in the summer, and has its own central heat in the wintertime.

Guest access
Each bedroom has one comfy queen bed, and there is also a couch/daybed in the larger bedroom if needed for an extra person.

Other things to note
Since we live right upstairs with regular work schedules and 2 big, friendly dogs, and neighboring houses are quite close, there will be noises during the day. Also, I am a professional pianist, so you may hear me practicing or teaching. We all try to be courteous with our noise and ask that you will be too.

Please note, there ARE steps in the apartment -- there are 2 steps down from street level, as well as 2 steps up again into the bathroom, so it's not an ideal situation for guests who use wheelchairs. These steps have not been an issue for the many wonderful families who have stayed with us.

We entertained friends at Speisekammer and walked home after the party without having to clean up or drive. We didn't cook because restaurant food in Alameda is a great change from places we usually go at home in Santa Cruz. -Due to Covid-19 we are following the CDC's guidelines and taking extra care when cleaning and disinfecting the space, leaving at least two days between guests.
-There are 2 steps down to the apartment from the ground level entry.
-We request mutually observed quiet hours from 11 pm to 7am.
-Families with young children are welcome but we do not have the space baby proofed.

The large living room, bigger than those in other one-bedroom condos, CAN accommodate two couches and a lazy chair, with room for a wall-mounted 60" TV (however, the guests are NOT allowed to bring their own TV and mount it or any other electrical appliances). It also CAN accommodate a dining table and chairs. However, the condo as seen in the pics comes with a couch, table, a bed and a fireplace with other decors.

There is a huge vanity area between the bathroom and the bedroom with another vessel sink.

The place comes SEMI furnished with a couch and a bed and few basic things. The pictures added is how the place looks.

P.S: the place is already super discount in comparisons to the neighboring area with 5% weekly and 10% monthly in addition to promotion for first three bookings. The furniture and amenities also reasonable towards the discounted rent. The patio is undergoing modeling and construction currently.

The guest is not allowed to bring any furniture or any electrical equipment without asking the host. Especially TV or any gaming gadgets. Since all utilizes are electrical; even a heater can jack up the power and electrical bills

PLEASE READ: this unit is located in a historic building and the interior reflects this. For those looking for a modern retreat, we politely encourage considering another listing. Our apartment is quaint and full of period charm, but also comes with the quirks of fitting modern appliances and needs into an older home.

- Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Our Victorian building is over 100 years old, and has thin walls and floors, so sound travels easily. We ask that all guests remove shoes and walk gently inside of the apartment (especially on non-carpeted areas, like the kitchen). We have provided indoor slippers, should you wish to use them.

- At the moment, we have two plug-in heaters in the unit but no central heating.

- Plenty of street parking around. PLEASE NOTE: Lafayette Street cleaning on 1st and 3rd Fridays between 10am - 1pm. Please do not park during these times to avoid a ticket.

- COVID: all long term tenants on the property are vaccinated. We follow CDC guidelines and adjust our personal protection protocols (masks, social distancing, hand washing, etc.). We require our guests to comply with locally and nationally mandated procedures.

The Victorian Style Building was built in the early 1900s holding the original structure. Our studio is located up 1 flight of stairs on the 2nd floor first door on the right hand side. Once inside, your studio is equipped with a central heat, ceiling fan, queen bed, a smart TV and a fully equipped kitchen and a full bathroom. The cozy studio has Victorian style character with a beautiful decorator's model style twist. It has a large walk-in closet drawers, a cozy love seat size seating that can turn into a cot to sit on while watching TV, and large windows to brighten the studio up. The washer and dryer are on the ground floor, not in the unit.

Guest access
One off street parking spot available for this unit. Your spot has "1" on the ground. It is the very left spot out of the three parking spots in front of the building. You also can take bus, bart, ferry and highways to go anywhere.

The space
The spacious main room includes a comfortable living room with a couch, chairs, and a 50" TV. The main room also includes a dining room table with plenty of room for dinner, working, or playing games.

The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, seating area, closet, and TV. With two windows, there is plenty of natural light in the room but also adequate privacy. There is a twin air mattress available upon request.

The beverage bar on your way to the kitchen has a Nespresso with a selection of pods for your morning coffee. There is also a tea kettle, an assortment of teas, and complimentary wine for you to enjoy.

The kitchen has plenty of room to cook or eat take-out at the kitchen island. We have all the essentials to feel like you are cooking in your kitchen at home and lots of recommendations for eating out if there is no time to cook!

On the other direction, you will land in this large shopping center with all the department stores, Trader Joe's, Safeway, several banks, restaurants, postal office, gas stations. The shoreline is right next to the shopping center. You can read on the beach. You can walk and jog along the shoreline with San Francisco's outline in your view.

This is a studio that comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a full bathroom. You have a reserved parking spot in front of the next door 1186-1188 Park Street Alameda. This building is on the left side of our building. Your parking spot is the very right spot out of the three parking spots in front of 1186-1188 PARK Street. The reserved parking cone usually keeps this spot open. You can move the cone into the grass area when you pull into the parking spot.

You have the whole apartment to use. You can access the laundry facilities on the ground level through the back door on the ground level. The code for the back door lock is 5491AB.

You also have a reserved off street parking spot. The parking spot is the one on the left side of the driveway in front of next door building with big yellow "A" on the ground.

Our building is on the main business street. It is very convenient location coming with a some traffic noise tag.

We strive to provide a pleasant stay for our guests and keep our rates low by providing comfortable basics. Our apartments are not luxury accommodations, the building is 130+ years old and the sheets and towels are Target-brand. We also accept pets so if finding pet hair would upset you, or if anyone in your group has allergies, a different Airbnb would be best.

We do our best to provide clean apartments but there have been cleaning issues from time to time. It's difficult to find cleaners in this area who will clean at a fee guests are comfortable paying. Cleaning quotes for a single apartment run from $100 to $325+. If there are cleaning issues, we always work quickly with guests to correct but if it would upset you to work through these things together, for your stress levels and ours, please book elsewhere. Guests looking for space on a budget who are self-sufficient and communicate well have the best experience staying with us.

The quality of our apartments is similar to a Best Western, Extended Stay, or Comfort Suites and our prices of $1xx per night reflects this. If you wouldn't stay in these chains, or if you prefer a Hilton or Marriott, there are higher-end Airbnb options available in Alameda so please book with them.

We take great care in screening our guests to ensure it is in safe hands. Please leave a message with details of who you are, reason for the visit, and who will be accompanying you, in addition to any details you think would be helpful for us to know. If you leave a short message without detail, we probably won't be able to accommodate. Price is fixed—Airbnb is great in that there are plenty of options to fit everyone's budget! Lastly, we are a husband and wife team managing the property. We are here should guests need anything but we are extremely busy with four young kids and full-time jobs so if you anticipate needing a lot of correspondence or assistance, we unfortunately won't be able to accommodate.

Additional details:
* The building was built in the late 1800s and is on Alameda’s historical list. Noise travels in older buildings so you will hear footsteps/ voices in units next to, or above, you. There are also pets on the property so there may be barking from time to time. If you're looking for silence, it's best to book somewhere with no shared walls.
* One review called out train noise, there is no train in Alameda. The closest trains are Amtrack and BART in Oakland, approximately 2.5 miles away, and can be heard throughout Alameda, Oakland, and Emeryville.
* Most of our bookings are longer stays for 30-120 days but we do have shorter bookings in-between. Guests replenish their own paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc at the nearby Target or corner stores.
* This is a self check-in/ self check-out apartment. Instructions will be sent day of check-in.
* Check in is anytime starting at 4pm, with a 11 am check out. Please leave the place as you found it and send us a quick text that you’ve checked out.
* Pet policy: We accept dogs under 40 lbs, unfortunately no cats due to the damage their urine can cause to flooring. Dogs are an additional $40 per month and a $300 refundable deposit.
* No parties or unaccounted for guests

This cozy Junior 1-bedroom apartment is private and quiet. Fully remodeled, brand new finishes. The bedroom fits only a bed - please reference pictures.

Situated walking distance to Park St (.75 miles) & the Alameda shoreline (.5 miles). There is ample backyard outdoor space, with comfy outdoor seating and beautiful greenery.

This unit is in a building with 4 other units. Very quiet and relaxing area.

There is 1 reserved parking spot in the driveway, plus street parking.
