set in a 2 acre lot, with beautiful trees surrounding the home, it has it's own 3 piece bathroom, kitchen with microwave, coffee machine everything you need, etc, main town for shopping and restaurant is about 10 minutes away. Just a note we do not have wifi because wifi connection is very slow in the area, but your phone would work perfectly if you have data.

- "Beautiful flat !" - "Too noisy specially in the early morning, no cookwares as indicated , there is no window covering so the lights gets in the room too early and you can’t sleep, the main door half glass with no covering so no privacy or light protection " - "I liked my hosts, very helpful, accommodating, pleasant. I needed to be up early each day so a quiet early evening was needed. A basement allows sounds to be heard from upstairs so running, laughter, and loud voices easily are heard and did disturb my sleep. I was back early so I slept when it was quiet and it worked out ok. The cleaning adequate could be improved, mirrors were all smeared, hard to use without cleaning myself. The glasses and cups were clean but stuck to the tray so I washed off the items, and counter with a cloth I found but a dish cloth and tea towel would have been helpful. My profession is housekeeping so my eye is more critical than most. I noticed the garbage can needed cleaning inside and a smell was there. The fridge could have been cleaned out better as well. Bathroom was best feature hot water shower various heads and large. I had a hydro issue addressed immediately and the hosts were very helpful, with using their laundry and delivered to me. My first stay I had trouble accessing the key pad but the hosts helped immediately and left the door unlocked for me next time. I had no issues with the key pad afterwards.It was very cold the second stay and although the heat was turned up after my request, I was still cold and wrapped in a wonderfully soft blanket to stay warm while watching tv or reading. At night I was very comfortable. The place was beautiful, convenient with places to eat or for all I needed within 5-10 minutes. Small improvemen"

Guest access
Guests will have complete access to the basement of the house. We believe in full privacy. Upper tenants have a separate entrance to the house (Main door) and you will only share the parking space. Feel free to make the most of the available amenities, allowing for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Other things to note
We may visit the house during your stay for an inspection if your stay exceeds 28 days or in response to any complaints from neighbors.

Please make sure to leave everything as it was upon arrival.
Garage access is not available.

The front yard and back yard are not accessible to the guests at the moment.

During your stay, please be aware that other guests might be staying on the main floor. We request that everyone keep noise levels down, but you might still hear some sounds as they can sometimes travel through the walls/floor and sometime food smell.

Although we maintain a consistent average temperature throughout the house, there may be temperature differences between floors due to natural convection currents (warm air rises and cool air falls). As a result, the basement may be somewhat cooler, while the top floor might be a bit warmer.

Guests without any profile reviews, with less than 5-star ratings or with any negative host feedback may be asked for a refundable surety deposit for their stay. This will be requested during the booking process, collected via Airbnb and returned to the guest upon departure and inspection by our cleaner assuming there have been no house rules violations or damages. We appreciate hosting respectful guests and this surety helps us maintain this.

The Guest suite is attached to the main house, has it's own entrance, for complete privacy.
We offer an open concept kitchen, combined eating and seating area, which doubles as extra sleeping quarters with a double size futon. TV, radio and board games for you and your family to be entertained during your stay.

You’re welcome to access the trails at the back of the property year-round. In the winter (weather permitting), enjoy our toboggan hill—just please note it’s at your own risk, and all guests must sign a waiver before use.

In the summer, soak up the sun in our resort-style heated pool, available for an additional fee.

As we respect your privacy during your stay, we kindly ask that you respect ours in return. Please note that the interlock driveway at the entrance, the area around the main house, and the warehouse are off-limits to guests.

Welcome to The Potters Retreat, a warm inviting space located in a beautifully converted stone church in the quaint village of Alton!

The apartment with private entrance has been recently updated and features two spacious bedrooms, each with king-sized beds, large windows and one and a half bathrooms.

The space
The Potters Retreat offers the best of both worlds; enjoy the tranquility of our small village, while being just a short distance from local attractions.

You will find everything you need for a comfortable stay: cozy Turkish cotton bedding, luxuriously soft and plush bath towels, handmade ceramic dishes and mugs for all your meals and coffees, custom locally made body products, included wifi access, a large smart TV for streaming movies and shows.

We designed this space for artist retreats, but it is also perfect for couples and families looking for a little getaway

The upper level of the church is a private ceramics studio. We run small group classes a few times a year. Should your stay happen at the same time as a class, we will do our best to let you know before booking. Private classes are available on request (subject to availability).

Guests will have private access to the unit with parking for one car plus free street parking on the same street.

Other things to note
This unit is in the (walkout) lower level of a historic church with a pottery studio upstairs. You may hear some noise from studio activity during the week. It is mostly myself and one other potter working in there, I do host the occasional group workshop as well but there is very little noise transfer.

The building has air conditioning and is controlled from the upstairs unit. Due to it being a stone building it stays between 67 and 72 degrees throughout the hottest months of the year and we have not had to worry about adding a separate unit for cooling.

We have a new furnace that keeps it warm throughout the winter months.
