Our property is located 300 meters (+/- 1000 feet) above sea level secluded at the edge of the El Yunque National Forest, one of the most important rainforest ecosystem in the national park inventory. The flora and the fauna are particular to the damp environment, in particular the coqui, a very small frog and the different types of lizards, exhuberant firns and exotic heliconias and bambues populate the landscape around us.

The apartment is located in the bungalow guest house adjacent to the house in which we live. We have been here since 20 years ago enjoying our 3 daughters, nature, my wife's organic vegetable garden, exotic flowers and fruits and the most incredible scenery you can imagine.

The apartment at the guest house is fully equipped to relax and enjoy your stay in the rain forest. The bedroom has a queen size bed that sleeps 2 plus a full futon which sleeps 1 more: In total it sleeps 3. 4 is too tight!

Unfortunately the apartment, the roof terrace and the surroundings are NOT child proof so, please, NO children under sixteen are allowed. It is ideal for a couple hideaway or for a small family adventure. It has a fully equipped kitchenette (separate from the bedroom), with a wooden dinning table to enjoy your meals, card games and conversations overlooking the vegetable garden, the mountains and the ocean. A fantastic private terrace above the apartment is ideal for BBQ's, watching spectacular sunsets, star gazing or as your own solarium. Our small, but wonderful family pool and spacious sun terrace is available for our guests.

There are many to do things such as sightseeing and adventures, some within walking distance and some at the most 45 minutes away. But one of the best is just dedicating one day to stay home and enjoy the rainforest and it's magic.

- "The facilities was above what I expected . Very clean quit secure . U could have slept with the doors open . It served my purpose single person for quick stay . Room filled with Ants and Roaches!!!! I had to check out the following day!!! I couldn’t check out when I got there, due to the time I had finally reached! The only good thing was that the Hostess came and met me nearby the location due to no directions given beforehand. The Room is barely a room!!! Twin Bed had a very thin mattress on pieces of wood!!! Be prepared to end up with body aches!!! The Bathroom is outside your Room and barely enough room to get to. You’re lucky if one person can walk through!!! Thank goodness I’m an average size person to walk through a tiny space to get to the bathroom. Bathroom had Mildew!!! The sink barely holdup!!! The only decent spot was the Patio in the back of the residence! The pool is nothing like the pictures you have to walk about a block and half to get to! The room was a total disaster!!! You definitely get what you pay for and not what was described!!! I really don’t recommend this place to anyone!!! The Hostess try to make me feel comfortable but it was unbearable and uncomfortable!!! "

This centrally-located Apartment has its own private entrance followed by pavers reaching a beautifully crafted wooden stairs. Canóvanas is very peaceful and has lots to do. Including having the rain forest just 5 minutes away, the highway/express 3-5 minutes away, an outlet/mall 3-5 minutes away (this outlet/mall has go karting, movie theater, rock climbing, and much more). Walmart is only 4 minutes away and near walmart theres lots of fast foods.

Only 15-20 minutes away from the new Casino in Luqillo, and beaches just 6-10 minutes away. Highly recommend visiting el Yunque national forest, kioskos de Luqillo, and piñones.

This home comes with one parking spot and only one, there is lots of free street parking if need be!

Guest access
You have the entire 1st floor apartment and have access to gated parking for 1 car. Once you arrive you will receive a key. The parking area is a common and main entrance to both apartments. There is a $50 dollar charge for each lost key.

You can find just about anything available in the island on the internet including directions.
There is also Uber, Uber Eats, and many restaurants that deliver less than 15 minutes away.

We have 1 gentle and affectionate female dog who does not have access to the apartment. She lives in the main house but sometimes walks around the yard. There are 2 cats that regularly appear on the terrace. Please don't offer them food. The apartment is regularly fumigated to control mosquitoes and other insects that exist in a typical country environment.

My place is 15 minutes from San Juan airport, next to Belt's Outlet Mall, Super Walmart, other supermarkets and fast food Walgreens, Beach & major hospital is 5 minutes away. Near El Yunque National Forest, Isla Verde beach & Luquillo beach and many other attractions. 20 mins away from old San Juan.

You will find all the attractions a close by from my apt. Uber drivers are available but I always recommend a rentar car; is it more convenient.

There are 2 bedrooms one with 2 twin size beds and a second with a queen size bed. The bath /shower only has a entrance door of 24 inches in width. Our fully furnished patio has a dining and sitting area including a portable barbecue..We offer a Wok, stainless steel pots and non stick as well baking ware utensils needed.
All the doors have latches for your comfort.
