In the mornings comes the beautiful mist. It has a spectacular view of the mountains of Cayey, The studio has a queen bed, kitchen, refrigerator, stove, private bathroom, coffee maker, all the necessary utensils, direct access to the pool. If you love animals, you will be greeted by two beautiful country cats. Cayey/Cidra has excellent restaurants and a lechon route experience. We are close to TE.TAS, an exquisite restaurant and close to the lechoneras. It is recommended to have a car. You will be greeted by two cats and a friendly dog.

Welcome to our charming rustic retreat nestled in the mountains of Cayey! Located in a small gated community with two other houses, our tranquil escape is just a 5-minute drive from Highway PR-52 E.

We're delighted to host you! Your apartment is conveniently attached to the rear of the house. After parking in front, a pleasant stroll along the terrace and patio leads to the separate entrance of your cozy abode.

Inside, enjoy filtered water, coffee, and tea for your convenience. Store snacks in the mini refrigerator. The room has a ceiling fan, and an extra portable fan is available, though nights are generally cool. Keep a jacket handy for slightly chilly mornings and evenings.

Your room, with a separate entrance, spacious patio, and outdoor space, invites you to embrace nature's soothing sounds. Chirping birds, coquis, and occasional geckos add to the natural ambiance. Despite our diligent cleaning, harmless wonders like insects or lizards may make occasional appearances. We are lucky to be in a microclimate where there are almost no mosquitos in spite of our proximity to nature and trees.

Meet Michu, our friendly cat, a longtime resident who's curious yet polite. She may explore your room if the door is open; a simple request will see her on her way.

For longer stays, laundry is available on demand. Just let us know, and we'll pick up and return your laundry the same day. Our property has a generator, ensuring uninterrupted electricity, and our water source guarantees a constant water supply. We use a solar water heater for showers, but on rare overcast days, there may be less hot water.

Enjoy stable internet with our Starlink wifi, perfect for remote work if needed.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

This property comfortably sleeps 12 guests in 4 bedrooms. There are two bedrooms on each floor.

Bedroom Downstairs: The first bedroom downstairs features 2 bunk beds with a full and a twin bed each. It has a flat-screen TV, a dedicated working desk, a dresser, a closet, and an ensuite modern bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom on this floor features a king-sized bed, 2 nightstands, a bench, a closet, and easy access to a full bathroom with a shower right outside the bedroom.

Bedrooms Upstairs: The 3rd bedroom is located upstairs and it features two queen beds and an ensuite bathroom. The 4th bedroom is the master suite which features a king bed, a flat-screen TV, a fireplace, a dedicated working desk, and a stunning modern ensuite bathroom with a double sink and masterful shower.

KITCHEN AND DINING AREA

Hacienda Pura Vida's kitchen is the heart of this property. You won’t want to leave this place. It is a fully equipped kitchen featuring a refrigerator and freezer, a stove, a microwave, a dishwasher, an oven, a coffee maker, an air fryer, and basically everything you need for an extended stay. It has an additional 3-person seating in its counter area. The dining area is right next to the kitchen, and it offers a sleek modern dining table with 6 chairs and the most beautiful view of the mountains.

GETTING AROUND

Renting a car is a must when staying in Cayey. Ubers and taxis won’t get you to this location, and you will need your own car to explore the island. There are parking spaces for up to 4 cars.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.

AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel-size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 12 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors.
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged.

Nestled in Guavate, the heart of the renowned "Ruta del Lechón" (Pork Highway), this is the ideal retreat to fully experience Puerto Rican Chinchorreo culture.

The space
Flor de Maga is a cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment, equipped with air conditioning and a water heater for your comfort. The living area features a 4-seat dining table and a small sofa, with a 46" smart TV available in the living room only. The kitchen is fully stocked with essentials, including a sink, soap dispenser, dish rack, fridge, microwave, 2-burner stove, cookware, cups, plates, utensils, coffee maker (greca), and coffee mugs. The bathroom provides toilet paper, travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, shower cap, makeup remover, and towels.
Both bedrooms are furnished with a queen bed, nightstands, two pillows per bed, linens, a blanket, and a bed cover for convenience and comfort.
In the event of a power outage, our facility is equipped with a generator that will automatically turn on to restore power.

Guest access
A second-floor balcony offers a stunning and unique perspective for photos. Capturing a sunset over the mountains is truly priceless!

Other things to note
The Estancias Borikén apartments are located on the second floor of Guavate Village, accessible only by stairs as there is no elevator. Commercial businesses occupy ground level, not open at night, except for the gym. Parking spaces are available for our guests. Several restaurants are just a short walk away, some play live music. Guavate is known for their bustling and energetic weekend vibe, noise levels can be loud at times.
