The Space:
Atlántico Sal is a trendy 326 ft² studio apartment located in the heart of Dorado. It features a queen bed, a kitchenette, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, a laundry area with a washer (no dryer), and a full bathroom. This chic studio is just a 5-7 minute walk to one of Puerto Rico’s most beautiful public beaches - “Dorado Public Beach” - and steps away from restaurants and bars. The unit includes one assigned parking space for your convenience.

It is a part of the Atlántico complex which includes four additional boutique apartments also available for rent: Villa Atlántico Ola, Villa Atlántico Sol, Villa Atlántico Pez and Villa Atlántico Mar.

These modern and eclectic units feature outdoor semi-private areas where guests can enjoy a cooling swim in the plunge pool or simply relax after a day mingling around the beach or the nearby establishments. Atlántico Sal features air conditioning, WI-FI access, parking for one vehicle, and a washer (no dryer). This is an ideal spot for couples or solo travelers looking to explore the island of Puerto Rico.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

SECURITY CAMERAS: Video surveillance cameras are incorporated in the development accesses, outdoor surroundings, parking, and pool area.

PLUNGE POOL MAINTENANCE: The pool man has to access the complex every Friday in the early morning to clean the plunge pool. No exceptions. Guests do not need to be at the property for this.

SHARED PLUNGE POOL AND OUTDOOR TERRACE: Please note that the pool and outdoor terrace is shared with 4 other units. It is not private for this apartment.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The studio features a comfortable queen bed, perfect for a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring the island. The modern full bathroom with shower includes hotel-size amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to get you off to a comfortable start.

The larger blue door shown in the listing next to the bed is not operational. It has been securely shut to ensure privacy between the bedroom and the common areas, so it cannot be opened during your stay. If you have any questions, please let us know.

PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY):

We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.

KITCHENETTE

Prepare your favorite meals in the convenient kitchenette, equipped with a hotel-size refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, a blender, and a two-burner stove. It is a small but fully equipped kitchenette that is perfect for your extended stay. There is a table for two right next to the kitchen so that you can enjoy your favorite meals together.

GETTING AROUND

Renting a car is a must when staying in Dorado. The property includes space for one (1) compact vehicle. You will need one to move around to nearby restaurants, shops, and beaches as well as to explore the rest of the island. Relying on Uber is not suggested in the area due to lack of availability. If renting a larger car, you would need to park on the street.

LOCATION

Atlántico Sal is located in the beautiful town of Dorado. This town has great charm and it is a 45-minute drive from San Juan and the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport. Atlántico Pez has restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, and shops all within a short ride away.

Besides enjoying the beautiful villa and all the amenities on offer, there are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites:

Explore the local culinary scene with everything from local Puerto Rican food to excellent Italian and Asian options.

Chill at the beach! The Dorado Public Beach is one of our favorite beaches in Puerto Rico and a must-do if you are staying at Atlántico Sal. The apartment has beach chairs, towels, and a cooler for a long day at the beach. You can also drive to Cerro Gordo Beach which is also a long sandy beach well protected from swell and is a 5-minute drive from the villa.

Explore the Camuy Caves – a huge cave system about an hour's drive away that is home to the third-longest underwater river in the world.

Spend a day in Old San Juan, a 35-minute drive away and the oldest city in all of the US. There is a lot of history to be seen and great food, drinks, and shopping to enjoy!

AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 1 bath towel per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel-size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am, no parties or noisy activities during these hours
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 2 adults at all times. This includes visitors.
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged.
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule.

This villa has a specific allowance for electricity usage which covers normal use per day. If guests run all zones of AC 24/7, it has happened that guests may exceed the allowance and there is a surcharge for over usage based on actual bills or meter readings upon entry and exit. Excess electricity usage may be deducted from the Security deposit that is on hold with Airbnb. To avoid that please be mindful and turn off the AC units when you are not in the room.

By the way and although not mentioned in property description, they have wonderful restaurants and bars all within a 3-5 minute walk from your doorstep. One bar/restaurant even has a pickleball court. We had so much fun!!! "

- "It was a nice property the water was cold and the jacuzzi did not work " - "The listing said it had a coffee maker, no coffee maker. Listing said it had a grill, I was told the grill was at the local public beach (.8 miles away). Listing said it had a blow dryer, I was told the guests before took it and would be replaced Friday (I checked in Monday to wait 5 days on a dryer at a beach). The listing said it had a bullet for both kitchen & kitchenette. There is a microwave and a mini-fridge, there is no coffee maker or grill, addressed above that were specifically listed misrepresented. There is not one pot, pan, skillet, fork, etc, no burner or air fryer…anything, to constitute a kitchenette as I checked in for 10 nights. There is no sink or soap, why would you have a coffee mug with no coffee maker, other than to be pictured. Now the internet wifi; I had multiple issues with the wifi being out for 1.5-2 days, at a time. I would report it, the wifi come back, and tomorrow morning be out again. After a week, the following Monday, the property manager got new service. I was unable to work the entire week and Monday (6 business days) due to lack of wifi. I originally offered if I could reset the router, but was not given permission. There was no inclement weather during my stay. The listing also said there was a private pool (it was a shared pool), toys/games, & travel crib that also were not there. Jose did get back promptly, thank you, the listing is misrepresented, to warrant more cost. The studio is nice and clean, felt safe."

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The master suite - located on the third floor - has 1 king bed with a fully renovated bathroom, closet, and a smart TV. It also has a furnished private balcony. On the second floor you will find the 2nd bedroom which has 1 tastefully appointed queen bed, closet, and a full bathroom that is shared with the 3rd bedroom. The 3rd bedroom has 1 queen bed and closet space. Both bathrooms include complimentary organic amenities and plush resort-style towels. All the bedrooms have AC.

The Space:
Villa Atlántico Ola is a fully renovated 2 bedroom - 1 bathroom apartment located in the heart of Dorado. It offers spectacular high wooden ceilings and tons of natural light. It is a part of the Atlántico complex which includes four additional boutique apartments also available for rent: Villa Atlántico Mar, Villa Atlántico Sol, Villa Atlántico Pez and Villa Atlántico Sal (Studio).

Villa Atlántico Ola is just a 5-7 minute walk to one of Puerto Rico’s most beautiful public beaches - “Dorado Public Beach” - and steps away from restaurants and bars.

These modern and eclectic units feature outdoor semi-private areas where guests can enjoy a cooling swim in the plunge pool or simply relax after a day mingling around the beach or the nearby establishments. Villa Atlántico Ola features air conditioning throughout the entire unit (on 10/20/2024 an AC unit was installed in the living room), WI-FI access, parking for one vehicle, and a washer (no dryer). This is an ideal spot for groups looking to explore the island of Puerto Rico.

SECURITY CAMERAS: Video surveillance cameras are incorporated in the development accesses, outdoor surroundings, parking, and pool area.

PLUNGE POOL MAINTENANCE: The pool man has to access the complex every Friday in the early morning to clean the plunge pool. No exceptions. Guests do not need to be at the property for this.

SHARED PLUNGE POOL AND OUTDOOR TERRACE: Please note that the pool and outdoor terrace is shared with 4 other units. It is not private for this apartment.

LIVING AREA

Once you enter Villa Atlántico Ola you will be greeted by the completely remodeled living room featuring high ceilings and enlighten with tons of natural light. You will love the comfortable layout and chic decor of this space. The living area features a sectional sofa, an armchair, and a flat-screen smart TV, all in a cozy modern ambiance.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: On 10/25/2024, an AC unit was installed in the living room, thus making the entire apartment fully air conditioned.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Villa Atlántico Ola comfortably sleeps 4 guests in two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed with an armchair, desk, and a full-size closet to accommodate your belongings in an organized fashion. The second bedroom has a full-size bed with closet. There is a completely renovated and modern bathroom with a standing shower in the hallway, conveniently located between the two bedrooms.

Villa Atlántico Ola features a full designer’s kitchen integrated within the living space. This newly renovated kitchen is equipped with kitchen utensils, a fridge, a 4-burner stove, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The kitchen island has comfortable seating for four guests.

LOCATION

Villa Atlántico Ola is located in the beautiful town of Dorado. This town has great charm and it is a 45-minute drive from San Juan and the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport. Atlántico Ola has restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, and shops all within a short ride away.

Chill at the beach! The Dorado Public Beach is one of our favorite beaches in Puerto Rico and a must-do if you are staying at Villa Atlántico Ola. The apartment has beach chairs, towels, and a cooler for a long day at the beach. You can also drive to Cerro Gordo Beach which is also a long sandy beach well protected from swell and is a 5-minute drive from the villa.

Explore the Camuy Caves – a huge cave system about an hour's drive away that is home to the third-longest underwater river in the world.

Spend a day in Old San Juan, a 35-minute drive away and the oldest city in all of the US. There is a lot of history to be seen and great food, drinks, and shopping to enjoy!

GETTING AROUND

Renting a car is a must when staying in Dorado. The property includes space for one vehicle. You will need one to move around to nearby restaurants, shops, and beaches as well as to explore the rest of the island.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. - "This place presents itself as a gated community, however there is no way to lock the gate to the parking area that let's right into the property. The pictures of the inside lead you to believe you have a king size room and a separate kitchen. In reality, the picture of the king size room it's out the dining table and stove top, microwave and refrigerator that stars just a foot or 2 from the foot of the bed. The towels were dirty. One of them was on the floor, which my wife picked and place on the stand. When we called about it, the property manager came with his wife and insisted that they were clean. He was very rude. He stated that if we didn't like it, we could leave, and only grudgingly had fresh towels brought in. Note, no wash clothes were included. It was at this point that we were informed that all we are entitled to only 1 set of towels for our entire stay. To be fair, the bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi was enjoyable, but we can get those st other properties and because of our experience the first night, and the misrepresentation of the room, we will be staying in other places and never here again. On a couple of areas, we would rate lower than 1 but that was the lowest option available"

This is a private studio apartment. It is prepared for short term and long term rental. It has a full size closet in the bathroom area and enough storage space for clothing for longer stays. Even though the space does not have washer and dryer, I do have in the main house.

Only for weekly stays, 1 time before your check out date I can have your personal items washed and dried, no extra charge. Please notify me in advance so we can schedule a specific day depending on my availability.

For monthly stays, first week laundry service for personal items is free, afterwards it will be a $20 weekly fee for laundry (personal items).
Towels and linens will always be replaced on a weekly basis free of charge.

If you only need to book one night during weekdays, you can contact me and I will verify if changes in calendar can be made to accommodate your request.

If traveling with a small child arrangements can be made.

Our local supermarket has and online/delivery service, which you can schedule to have groceries delivered once you arrive. I can receive them, but this will have to be coordinated with me before placing your order so I can arrange to receive them.

Check in time is at 3:00pm, if you are arriving any time after 12:00am (midnight) and wish access to the apartment, you will need to book the night before.

Booking system works the same as hotels. You can still contact me to make any other arrangements or luggage drop off.

Power Generator: Even though we have a power generator, this doesn’t mean you will have power 24/7 in case of a power outage. You will definitely have power during nighttime. We will turn it on during day time if we deem it necessary. Power outages are rare in this area and usually power is restore within a couple of minutes. We usually give it 10-15 minutes before turning the power generator on.
Water Cistern: If you are staying with us during an emergency where water has been cut off for a prolonged time, you will be asked to ration water usage.

Hopefully none of this will happen during your stay. But if it does, we want you to be as comfortable as possible.
