This is a beautiful unit set in an old historic church that is over 150 years old. This unit has a separate entrance at the back of the church with designated parking. It is 3 levels with an antique spiral staircase leading down to the large open living area downstairs. The downstairs living area also serves as the second bedroom with a daybed, pull out couch bed, dedicated closet, and it's own exterior access. There is a small deck/balcony off the level with the main bedroom. It has a completely remodeled interior with new modern decor. This unit has brand new kitchen, appliances, and original old hardwood flooring.

Out of all the places ive rented, i ha e to give this an A+ because the owner was thoughtful enough to supply all kinds of amenities in the bathroom (normal) and the kitchen (olive oil, spices, to go cups, k-cups, etc.). Once you park in the driveway, head on down the side stairs to enter the private entrance of the 720 square foot studio apartment. Don't let the word basement scare you. 9 foot ceilings with recessed lighting and two full size windows bring plenty of light and life to the space. Sit back, relax, and enjoy some tunes on the 50 inch Smart TV, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet in this peaceful neighborhood. When you're done kicking your feet up, get up and walk over to the kitchenette where you can whip yourself up a hot meal on the provided hot plate. Don't worry about bringing any pans, we got you covered. Once you're done enjoying your hot meal, take a step into the bathroom, fill up the tub with some hot water and soapy suds, and have a seat.

Now that you enjoyed some tunes, ate a good meal, and had a nice relaxing bath, what more is there to do but to get a peaceful night's rest on the queen size mattress with blackout shades to let you sleep in peace. When you awake, walk back over to kitchenette, make a cup of coffee or tea, and step on out to the deck where you will be greeted by the sounds of birds chirping in the trees. If you look up, you might even see a bird's nest. Whenever it's time to return home, save yourself the hassle of doing laundry at home and clean all your dirty clothes before you depart in the full size washer and dryer. Don't worry about bringing any laundry detergent, unless you are very particular that is; we provide all you need.

Now that I described the space, let me give you a couple of important details to know. We stay on the upper two floors which is completely separate from the basement so you can enjoy your privacy. As mentioned, you will have to go down a flight of stairs so if you're not good with stairs, then stray away. You may see us in the driveway but that's about it. If you want to talk it up, we can talk it up but if you want to be left alone, then we'll leave it at hello and keep it moving. Did I leave out any details? Oh yes, we are about 5 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg, another 10 to 15 minutes from the hospital, 15 to 20 minutes from Central Park which features tons of stores and restaurants, and can't forget about the fact we are also only 10 to 15 minutes away from I-95 so you can easily get to wherever else you need to go. We look forward to hosting you in our home and pray that we are able to make you feel at home while you are away from your home.

Our home is in Historic Downtown Fredericksburg within walking distance to the Battle field and museum, Mary and George Washington's childhood home and other historic sites, walking trails and the Rappahannock River for fishing.
Many shops and restaurants nearby and only two blocks to the train station. Where you can take a train for a day trip to Washington DC or Richmond.

Virginia Beach is only a few hours drive away.
Lots of live music and nightlife a short walk away also. There is lots to do and the bus service also stops nearby on Lafayette Blvd. if you want to go farther afield and explore all that Fredericksburg has to offer.
Our back yard has a lovely garden and patio if you just want to sit back and relax with a cup of coffee or tea. We live in the house at the front of the property and are always available if you have any questions.
The apartment is compact but comfortable, has everything and is suited to guests who want to get out and about or someone on a work trip.

This is a basement apartment with three large windows and French doors to let in lots of sunlight. There are four rooms. The first room is an entry room that also serves as a separate work space. Next is a large combination living room, kitchenette, dining room that includes a nice sleeper sofa.

The kitchenette includes a two-burner electric hot plate, microwave and large toaster oven. There is no stove and no conventional oven.

The bathroom includes a full-length, step-in shower. Finally, the master bedroom includes a comfortable leather sofa, lounge chair and desk, in addition to ample closet space and bedside tables and lamps.

Choose your lighting in various rooms with combinations of overhead lighting, wall sconces and table lamps.

Outside find a firepit that is ready for S'mores and more, as well as a huge yard on our 1+ acre lot to play in - frisbee, croquet, or go sledding on our long slope! Further, there is a quarter-mile trail accessible from the top of the property that leads to the Fredericksburg Battlefield National Park, or you can walk down the street a half-mile to enter the park road.

THE SPACE WE OFFER FOR 6 PLUS INFANTS
This is a 1200 square foot 2 bedroom smoke free basement apartment and Kim and I live on the upper level. There is a large bathroom with tub/shower, and a large great room. It includes a well stocked full kitchen and eating counter with a Keurig with k-cups and all its needed supplies, a microwave, hand mixer, blender, a dining area with 5 chairs, a game table with 4 chairs, an office desk area with comfortable chair and a large living area with L shaped couch, Fire TV, and Gas fire log stove for a great experience in the winter. A queen bed and a crib in bedroom one and a double bed with single bunk on top with a pullout single in bedroom two. That’s sleeping for 6 plus an infant. travelers are welcome to sleep in the great room if they don't mind sleeping 2 on the L shaped couch. Besides the crib a Pac-n-play is available at no charge for an infant who is not considered an additional person as to the count of six and stays free and can sleep in the crib or Pac-n-play which you can set up in either bedroom, perhaps you have twins. THERE IS NO CLOTHES WASHER/DRYER. Laundromat is close by.

SECURITY
Access is gained by using the electronic lock on the door using the last 4 digits of your phone number and then pressing the bottom right open button with orange check mark.
Because of this check in can be done anytime after 3 pm even if you are very late at night with no interaction with us needed. Check out easy too follow red binder instructions by 12 noon.
ALARM SYSTEM
The whole house has a Simply Safe alarm for burglary and fire protection. The fire protection is always on with central station monitoring. We supply you with a temporary code that turns off the siren in case of false activation due to smoke from cooking etc.
If you are like us who are familiar with a security system and feel more comfortable
with a system armed when you are sleeping (protecting all the doors and windows from opening and glass break and protecting your valuables when you are gone) let me know via texting me in this app. I will give you instructions so you can use the system in tandem with us using it also.
CCTV
There are security cameras outside monitoring the yard front and back for everyone’s protection. There are no cameras inside the apartment. I owned a security company for 25 years so I am security conscious for peace of mind and am used to this kind of coverage. We have had no break-Ins, don’t intend to and live in a quiet neighborhood with great neighbors.

We are committed to making our Air BnB the best equipped and cleanest space there is. We have a 26 item check list we go through every time we “turn” (clean and do maintenance) our apartment. It takes 2 hours and most of the items are cleanliness related. All surfaces are disinfected, every inch of the commode and tank, tub/shower and kitchen surfaces are sprayed and wiped clean. We vacuum the carpets and mop the floors.

The scenic experiences of historic Spotsylvania County are spectacular, and the neighborhood has some fantastic restaurants and eateries. Some of my favorites are Basilico New York Deli and Bakery, and the Foode Mercantile.

“Stay Awhile” is a spacious walk out basement apartment, very clean, in a quiet neighborhood minutes from Old Town Fredericksburg, University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg Convention Center, FredNats baseball stadium, restaurants, shopping, historical sights, battlefields & Heritage Trail along the Rappahannock River. We have a walk/run/bike trail in our neighborhood and a tandem bike you may borrow. Enjoy our 82” TV and WIFI. We are 1 hr from DC & Richmond, 1.75 hrs from Williamsburg.

To access the private entrance to the apartment in the back of the house, you walk on a paved walkway along the side of the house and then must be able to walk down 9 steps and along a paved walkway tothe private patio entrance.

Hello and welcome! Our names are Joshua & Chaka & we thank you for considering our home, your home. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to stay, then you've come to the right place. Just because it's quiet, does not mean you'll be far away from anything. We are about 5 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg, 15 to 20 minutes from Central Park which features tons of stores and restaurants, and 10 to 15 minutes away from the hospital & I-95 so you can easily get to wherever else you need to go.

The space
Once you park in the driveway, head on down the side stairs to enter the private entrance of the 720 square foot studio apartment. Don't let the word basement scare you. 9 foot ceilings with recessed lighting and two full size windows bring plenty of light and life to the space.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy some tunes on the 50 inch Smart TV, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet in this peaceful neighborhood. When you're done kicking your feet up, get up and walk over to the kitchenette where you can whip yourself up a hot meal on the provided hot plate. Don't worry about bringing any pans, we got you covered. Once you're done enjoying your hot meal, take a step into the bathroom, fill up the tub with some hot water and soapy suds, and have a seat. Now that you enjoyed some tunes, ate a good meal, and had a nice relaxing bath, what more is there to do but to get a peaceful night's rest on the queen size mattress with blackout shades to let you sleep in peace.
When you awake, walk back over to kitchenette, make a cup of coffee or tea, and step on out to the deck where you will be greeted by the sounds of birds chirping in the trees. If you look up, you might even see a bird's nest.
Whenever it's time to return home, save yourself the hassle of doing laundry at home and clean all your dirty clothes before you depart in the full size washer and dryer. Don't worry about bringing any laundry detergent, unless you are very particular that is; we provide all you need. 
Now that I described the space, let me give you a couple of important details to know. We stay on the upper two floors which is completely separate from the basement so you can enjoy your privacy. As mentioned, you will have to go down a flight of stairs so if you're not good with stairs, then stray away. You may see us in the driveway but that's about it. If you want to talk it up, we can talk it up but if you want to be left alone, then we'll leave it at hello and keep it moving. We look forward to hosting you in our home and pray that we are able to make you feel at home while you are away from your home.

Welcome to this historic home! This apartment is in downtown Fredericksburg and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood that is a few blocks walking distance to the vibrant downtown commercial scene, so you won't hear noise at night. The bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, comfortable easy chair, and walk-in closet with extra linens and towels, and you'll find a sofa bed in the living room. Full washer/dryer inside the apartment, full kitchen with everything you could possibly need, full bathroom with tub/shower combo, very inviting front porch with rocking chairs to sit with morning coffee or glass of wine.

You'll find an abundance of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, art galleries, yoga studios downtown. We even provide you with a yoga mat for your use during your stay. Visit the numerous historic sites such as George Washington's mother's house or take a trolley ride to the various places that hold historic significance.

Want a quaint experience? Take a horse & carriage ride down Caroline Street, the town's main commercial street lined with coffee shops, restaurants, and eclectic shops. You are literally staying in the spot where the famous Civil War Battle of Fredericksburg took place in 1862. Also nearby is the Heritage Trail where you can jog or walk along the tree-lined canal. The Rappahannock River is two blocks away, where you can canoe or kayak. Give Virginia Outdoor Center a call for rental information.

And if you are a tennis or pickleball enthusiast, nearby Kenmore Park has several beautiful FREE courts plus restrooms surrounded by trees where you can play any time before dark (see photo). Mornings and later afternoons brings lots of friendly players who will welcome you. Street parking is available, just watch for signs that say resident permit required.

The University of Mary Washington has a large cultural center with lectures, art galleries, and performances throughout the year. And the nearby Riverside Theatre for the Performing Arts is a local dinner theatre that holds popular musicals.
