This is a spacious furnished apartment connected to my home. Large bedroom with queen sized bed, living room, dinning nook, kitchenette and bathroom. As well as a private 2 car driveway and private direct entrance into the apartment. Queen sized air mattress fits comfortable in the common area or in the main bedroom.

The apartment is less than 5 miles from Dover Downs & DSU, less than 3 miles from Wesley College, and only minutes from the Dover AFB. Located just off of the Route 1 exits as well.

ABSOLUTELY NO PETS OR ANIMALS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED IN THE UNIT - Unfortunately, I can not host reservations with animals. I have severe allergies and the ventilation between the home and the apartment is shared as well as all outdoor spaces on the property. My physical health is a priority . Requests with animals will be declined. Reservations who show with an animal will be immediately cancelled without refund, a claim for the $150 security deposit as well as an additional $350 fee for deep cleaning and duct cleaning to remove all traces of allergens.

Many people enjoy fishing here!!! WiFi and Cable available. Kitchen is fully stocked with the exception of a conventional oven and dishwasher. Conservation Wildlife Refuge view from front of the house and a quick walk out back to the beach. Quiet, quaint small town with corner store for your convenience. (Closed during winter months). Entire place is freshly painted and renovated as of Oct 2021.

The constant question I get is "how close to the beach" is the house located. Well it is literally a 2 minute walk out the back door.

This is a cozy 1 bedroom studio apartment with a full bathroom and small kitchen right in the heart of downtown Frederica, Delaware. Everything inside this apartment is new! Access is super easy via Wi-Fi lock and the apartment has its own private entrance so that you can come and go as you please.

This apartment is 2.5 miles to Delaware Turf Sports Complexans 30 miles to the beaches. Route 1 freeway access is only half a mile from this space.

New memory foam mattresses are included on all beds and hotel quality cotton sheets (The king bed is a comfortable 12 inch memory foam). There is a 65 inch HDTV with channels available via YouTubeTV. A desk (as pictured) with charging for laptop/devices or for eating a meal is provided. White noise machines are available at each nightstand if you prefer white noise while you sleep. This space is professionally cleaned after each use.

The town of Frederica does have two good restaurant options. Frederica Pizza and Pasta house is a short walk from the front door of this apartment and a great place to grab something to eat or drink without having to get in your car. Burgers & Brews is also a short walk and has live music most weekends (only open March – November). JPs on the Wharf is another great restaurant with live music on the weekends located 6.2 miles in the small fishing town of Bowers Beach.

On street parking is free and available. As always, please make sure to not leave any valuables in your vehicle & keep it locked.

There is a firehouse across the street from this space. Alarms are not daily and most are not during bedtime hours, however, full disclosure that there the chance of the sound of a fire siren.

2nd Floor Apartment in Historic Clayton Building. Central Heat and AC, Wifi and 55" TV with apps, Plenty of off street parking. Walking distance to local coffee shop, local restaurant and parks. Short drive to everything Delaware and Maryland has to offer.

2 large bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed and large windows on one wall. 2nd bedroom has a king bed and no windows that is perfect for mid day nap or anyone that works nights and like to sleep during the day.

Public parking in front of building and private parking on side of the building. Short walk to park with outdoor kids toys or stroll 100 yards to the veterans park with gazebo. Historic Clayton Train station right across the street and and food truck parked there a few nights a week. A short walk to Main street that has a cupcake shop, Coffee shop in the historic old town hall building or stop in Clayton Liquors for adult beverages. Bring those beverages back to the Apt and sit on the front deck and watch the train or fire trucks come though if you are lucky. Deck is small but has a small bench and enough room for a couple people to sit and talk. Also the deck has a swing gate so you can leave the front door open and let the kids play in site of the adults or let the breeze pass though the Apt at night. The living room and dining space outer walls have large windows. Our guests love to open in the spring and fall nights for a nice cross breeze.

Apartment is listed as 6 guests. We base this on 4 adults but more are welcome if children. Keep in mind the Apt only has the 2 beds though. The bedrooms are large enough for blow up mattress or the nook off the living room is also another space for the kids to "campout"

- "If you are looking for just a room at a reasonable price, this is for you. The bathroom is very tiny and in need of a remodel. The bedroom and bath were both very clean. The bed was comfortable, but the pullout single bed is not at all. Most pullouts aren’t, but this goes to a new level. This unit was fine for myself for a couple of nites because I was looking for an inexpensive option. But when my 15 yr old son spent the last nite there with me, I got the pullout which was not good at all. I didn’t use the kitchen, but it looked fine and clean. The location is okay, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable going for an evening stroll."

Guest access
Door to apt. is off small common area that also has door to laundry room for guests to use. Outdoor sitting area behind building but most guests walk across the street to the veterans park and enjoy sitting under the Gazebo.

Other things to note
Property is located right in center of town with plenty of parking.

Although this is the old historic house (1905-1968) the current firehouse is at the end of the block. Being a volunteer department they still blow the siren for alarms and everyday at noon (Monday-Saturday). They run 400 calls a year or 33 (approx) a month. So there is a good chance the siren will go off during your stay.
Clayton is a railroad town with a lot of history. So the train does go through town a few times a day and will blow the whistle. This requirement to blow whistle at intersections is required by law.
Most guest are not bothered by these events and even make the most of them. We have kids at the windows (upstairs 2 BR. apt) watching the volunteers coming in and leaving in the fire engines. We just like to make sure guests are aware to insure they plan for this and make the most of our little town

Only pets considered are single animals and Dogs. All animals need approved in advance. We only consider animals in extenuating circumstances. Equestrian decor flavors this cozy second floor apartment. You will find a brand new walk-in shower, coffee bar, carpet, furniture, freshly-painted walls and fast fios internet. We technically live just outside of the town limits yet are only two miles from Route 1, which gives you quick access to Wilmington and Dover. Ten acres of woods and pastures surround our bucolic property. Our eventual goal is to host traveling nurses and military as we are close to several hospitals and DAFB.

The space
Over the garage apartment, with one bedroom, queen bed and a sleeper sofa. Kitchen features a stocked coffee bar plus gas oven, microwave and toaster oven. Laundry is in the garage and is for your use exclusively. Starter toiletries and laundry necessities provided.

Guest access
The stairway to the apartment is in our garage. We live in the rest of the house, are retired and keep to ourselves. The hot tub and picnic tables are available for your use...they are on the back deck and out front. A spare bicycle and kayak are available as well. There are trails leading from our property. The horses are for our use only.

Other things to note
I have a Catahoula who is an amazing protection animal. She will certainly cozy up to you and make you part of her "pack". If you fancy quail, ducks and chickens...we have nice flight pens with ponds.

Bowers and Slaughter beaches are about 10-15 mins from us, whereas, the major beaches like Rehoboth, Lewes and Dewey are 45mins to an hour from us.
We are 5 mins from Highway 1 and located 15 mins from DE Sports Complex
10 mins from Highway 13 (Dupont Ave)
Near the mall, casino, racetrack, shopping, and many restaurants.
Killens Pond State Park is a 10 min drive.
Harrington Casino the Del. State Fair is 15 mins from us.

The space
The guest suite is located in the basement of my home with a separate entrance. Please be aware there are pavers on the grass to get to the unit (not rolling-trolley or luggage wheel friendly, guest will need to carry luggage to the unit) and there are also a set of steps to go down into the unit.
My family and I live above the unit.

We do allow dogs with the associated pet fee of 50.00 per pet and 25.00 for any additional pets.

Although the unit is part of my home, it has been blocked off to the rest of the house and has a separate entrance.
Guests have access to all areas within the rental.

Although the space does not have a traditional oven or range, we do have a 2 burner induction cooktop, air fryer, electric water kettle, and a toaster oven, and microwave. We also have a small refrigerator.
The kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans, cutlery, etc.

This is a house that was converted into 2 units. An upstairs and a downstairs. This listing is the first floor and is the largest one with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

This is a working farm. You may see animals. You may see insects such as flies and grasshoppers. You will hear animal noises and insect noises and probably a bull frog or two. Gate is closed after dark. If you arrive or leave when gate is closed, please be sure to close it behind you. Do NOT enter barns or pastures for your safety.

Country setting but close to everything! 10 minutes to shopping, 20 minutes to De Turf sports complex and about 45 minutes to Lewes or Rehoboth beach. Quiet area with beautiful sunset views and Amish buggies strolling down the street. In the back you’ll see our little farm, we have chickens, ducks & goats! A cat & three huskies. Lots of goldfish & koi in our pond as well.

The space
Modern updated space, one bedroom and one full bathroom. The bedroom has a queen bed and a large closet. The living room has a couch. We have a twin size bed that can be prepared for additional guests if you need more than the queen bed. Laundry is out of order at this time.

The space
Enter into the beautiful, comfy living space with kitchenette, dining area and relaxing sitting area ideal for catching up with friends and family, telling stories or cozying up and watching a good flick. HDTV is 55” with cable.

Entrance and entire unit has no stairs.

Equipped kitchenette includes: refrigerator/freezer, microwave, hot plate, toaster, convection airfryer oven, electric fry pan, crockpot, Keurig coffee maker and blender. Gas grill with propane is available for you on your own patio. No stove. Cook in, carry in great Italian food from La Mia Pizzeria two minutes away. Coffee and teas are supplied.

Three bedrooms - two with a king bed, one with a queen bed and a double bed. All beds are made with freshly laundered sheets. Each bedroom has a remote for lighted ceiling fan with dimmer, night stands, drawers, closet with hangers.

Spacious and modern bathroom has beautiful tiled floor, double sink vanity,
large shower with low threshold has both a shower head and hand held sprayer. Equipped with shower bench, hair dryer, towels, soaps, shampoo and extra toilet paper. Vanity lights can be set to very bright or dimmed low for night lighting.

Utility room with full size refrigerator/freezer and full size washer and dryer has laundry detergent supplied. Iron and ironing board are kept in storage space under the stairs.

Just outside is a large fenced in yard, trees and lots of nature. You can relax on the patio and enjoy the view. Many times there will be deer and occasionally fox will run through that space. A great place for kids and pets to play.

In summer, enjoy swimming, sunbathing or hanging out all day in the pool area. Towels for pool are on a table in your laundry room.

Note: No smoking and no parties allowed on property. Quiet time is between 11 PM and 7 AM

Guest access
The guest unit is the entire ground floor not shared with anyone else. The upper floor of the house is a separate owner occupied unit. A connecting stairs has a locked door and is not used during your stay without prior notifications for maintenance. Each unit has its own driveway and entrance. Check in time is anytime after 2 PM and check out time is 11 AM.

Occasionally you may hear us upstairs- when we’re walking or our 2 cats are running or meowing. Our 2 small Shih Tzus may bark occasionally. We have added rugs to keep the sounds muted.

On the grounds, guests have a large private patio and back yard surrounded by many types of trees including the namesake walnut trees.

The guest unit driveway is the second driveway and is off the cul-de-sac circle. This driveway will only be used by you, or occasionally maintenance vehicles, and can accommodate several cars.
