Many beaches are within a short drive away. The Quarterdeck is a so-so restaurant with great views. Not much more to it than that. The "unit" is clean, newly constructed, and well decorated. Internet access is great and TV has netflix, prime and other streaming channels. The kitchen is full service and easy to cook in. The deck faces the ocean which is only 30 feet away. The cormorants were cool but the pilot whales were awesome to observe. The only issue is that you will have a neighbour. This is a two storey VRBO. There is an upper and lower unit, so if you are in the lower one you can hear people stomping about and people on the deck directly above you. That's okay if they are considerate but if they have noisy kids or listen to terrible music you are in for skedaddling out of there any chance you get. That only happened to me for one night, otherwise my fellow tenants were okay."

We have made every effort to stock the place with all the essentials and little extras to make our guests comfortable. If it’s there, it’s there for you to use. Here are some details that might be useful to you:

Kitchen: The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, and microwave, coffee maker and toaster as well as a French press coffee maker, kettle, waffle maker and blender,. There are lots of pots and pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, mugs and wine glasses. We try to keep some basic condiments in the fridge like ketchup, mustard, relish and bbq sauce and, in the large bank of cabinets across the kitchen, you will find pantry staples like sugar, salt and pepper, oils and spices. Please feel free to use them.

Outside: There is a great deck out back with a BBQ, and a patio table with chairs to seat 6. BBQ utensils are located in the bottom drawer of the stove. We also recently added stairs down to a new outside shower and a fire-pit down by the river. We provide the first bundle of firewood and kindling for each of our guests but, should you need more, it can be usually be purchased from the Seascape Restaurant in Port Mouton or at gas stations and hardware stores in Liverpool.

Linens and basic household items: There are extra throw blankets in the cabinet of the second bedroom, along with the iron and ironing board. The cabinet in the bathroom is stocked with wash towels, face clothes and beach towels. Soap and toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, sunblock and bug spray are all there for our guests to use.

Adventures: When you decide to check out one of the incredible beaches in our area, we have beach chairs and a boogie board in the lower cabinet across form the kitchen island. There are also beach toys in the box on the back deck for any little ones and an insulated bag in the kitchen cupboard if you want to pack some food and drinks!

Entertainment: We resisted the temptation to have cable at the cottage but there is cell reception and WiFi. There is an Amazon Firestick attached to the TV that allows you to log in to a number of streaming services and access some free content as well. We also have plenty of books and a TV/DVD combo with a selection of movies - please enjoy them. If you have a book to leave and wish to take one with you please feel free! There are also lots of games, puzzles, and cards in the baskets under the bottom bunk in the second bedroom (washer toss too!). There is an easy seat up badminton net and racquets in the same cabinet as the beach chairs

No smoking indoors, and no cigarette smoking anywhere on the property. Cannabis is permitted outside. This is an antique, wood-framed home. No candles or flame of any kind indoors please.

We clean and sanitize weekly and between guests, but we also provide essential cleaning supplies for your use if desired.

The house is cooled by ocean breeze assisted by fans and portable air conditioner as needed.

We are pleased to announce a new family member, Baloo the Newfoundland dog! You may see his training sessions in the back yard, which can include greeting guests, if you like puppies.
