The Quarterdeck is a so-so restaurant with great views. Not much more to it than that. The "unit" is clean, newly constructed, and well decorated. Internet access is great and TV has netflix, prime and other streaming channels. The kitchen is full service and easy to cook in. The deck faces the ocean which is only 30 feet away. The cormorants were cool but the pilot whales were awesome to observe. The only issue is that you will have a neighbour. This is a two storey VRBO. There is an upper and lower unit, so if you are in the lower one you can hear people stomping about and people on the deck directly above you. That's okay if they are considerate but if they have noisy kids or listen to terrible music you are in for skedaddling out of there any chance you get. That only happened to me for one night, otherwise my fellow tenants were okay."

It’s a great area to surf, hike and explore the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, but you can also sit back in comfy Adirondack chairs and take in the 360 degree views on the rooftop patio. The sunrise/ sunsets are breathtaking and the star gazing at night is surreal. There is also a BBQ, fire pit and washer toss for entertainment.

We would appreciate if kids don’t play with playdoh , water or slime inside the house . Furniture should not be moved . FirePit is not supposed to be moved . Garbage needs to sorted , Burn restrictions are to be followed. Water to be poured once fire pit is used . Only toilet paper to be flushed , we have a septic tank .

In our barn we have a craft market that is occasionally open on weekends and we sometimes hold special events there. If you’d like a peek at our market space just let us know and we’d be happy to open it up for you!

We offer a "Be a Beekeeper" experience and info session where we provide you with a protective suit to tour our hive yard to learn the basics of beekeeping when we open up the hives and have a look inside.

We also have fresh sourdough loaves available for $7 and a half dozen eggs to take with you for $3, just give us 24 hours notice.

There is a cozy fireplace to keep the cabin warm when it’s chilly and you are welcome to use our outdoor fire pits- as long as there isn’t a fire ban.

Other things to note
Note this house is in a rural setting so it is NOT on municipal water service but on a well. Generally, we practice water conservation and especially in the hot months when the water table is lower. This means not having long showers, not running the water unnecessarily, such as when brushing teeth, or while doing dishes.

This house has a maximum of 8 guests, which includes children over age 2. Please do not bring more than 8 guests or host parties. Our property managers live next door.

Please do not bring your own bedding, towels, pillows or blankets.

This home has spacious rooms with high ceilings. The house has its original floors, and each pine door has been meticulously refinished to its natural patina. The art in the home is all Canadian.. with Dick Ferrier, Bert Young, Alan Collier, and Franklin Arbuckle. There is an outdoor wood burning pizza oven if you want to try cooking something new!

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Our house is a Sears catalogue home from the 1890s. It’s definitely got character. It’s not a new fab home and comes with some creaks and nostalgia from over the years. It is a 2 minute drive to Carter’s epic white sand beach or a 20 minute casual walk. Spend your time off in a quiet oasis.

The space
You will enjoy the main floor of this two storey house. The upper floor has a long term tenant.

The 1/2 acre property has a large lawn area for the kids to play. The back yard also houses a 5 th wheel trailer which may have guests during your stay.

Cozy house with a loft bedroom (access through a ship ladder) + other bedroom (1 single + 1 queen). Lots of character, wooden stove; magnificent beach view, just short hiking distance to Carters beach, the most beautiful beach in NS.

The space
Rustic house, very charming. The beach is excellent for kayaking, walking or just relaxing. Great choice for a family of 5 looking to enjoy nature. We are close to Carters beach, Kejimkujik seaside national park, Summerville beach provincial park and other hidden gems.

Guest access
Access to whole house. Please note that access to the loft bedroom is through a ship ladder, not recommended for small kids or adults with difficulties climbing up.

Other things to note
The loft bedroom has low ceiling, it is very charming, but tall people have to be careful. Access is through a ladder, so you have to be sure you are comfortable with climbing
