It’s about 35 minutes to Bar Harbor itself but with how crowded it was there, it was nice to have the break back in this property. We will stay again! "

Continental breakfast was included. The proprietor was a friendly source of information about things to do in the area and even got on his computer to show us details of how to find a hidden gem and drew a map for us on how to get to another recommended hike. If I ever come back to the area, I would definitely stay here again. It was our favorite stay of the whole trip."

This charming, clean, and nonsmoking older home's interior was newly renovated in 2014. Located on a side street in a quiet neighborhood in downtown Bar Harbor with off-street parking for one vehicle. It has an open floor plan & hard wood floors throughout. All new appliances. There are 2 bedrooms - 1 with a queen, - 1 with a single twin bed and pull out trundle (max 100 lb), plus a queen sleeper sofa in living room. A port-a-crib is available.
The walls are hung with original paintings of Mount Desert Island, and Acadia National Park. Full laundry, wi-fi, cable tv, and a pleasant garden and yard completes the package. While the apartment sleeps 5, ideally this home is best suited for a family - 2 parents with young children, or 2 or 3 adults. The trundle bed is not to be used by anyone weighing more than 110 lbs.
We are situated in the southeastern end of town, and are a 2 blocks to The Village Green, and the Island Explorer bus hub (runs from Jun-Oct) , Mount Desert Island Hospital, The Abbe Museum, Jesup Memorial Library, St. Saviour's Church and its' Tiffany stained glass windows, Reel Pizza, and all the shops and restaurants. Town Pier, Agamont Park, Albert Meadow, the YMCA, Compass Harbor, the Jackson Lab, and the majestic views of the Porcupine Islands and the Historic Shore Path are all within a 5 min walk.
We are also within walking distance to the Village Connector trails into Acadia. Compass Harbor and the ruins of George Dorr's family home are just a few blocks south. The Schooner Head Path is accessed off the Compass Harbor Trail. The Great Meadow Loop is accessed off Cromwell Harbor Road, just north of the ball fields. It connects to Jesup Path, Dorr Mountain, Homans Path, The Great Meadow Trail, Kebo Connector Trails, and much more.
For winter visitors - Acadia National Park is a winter wonder-land! Hiking (crampons a must), XC Skiing on groomed trails in the park, snow-shoeing, skating, ice-fishing, & sledding are all in the mix. We have the darkest skies east of the Mississippi. If you are interested in astronomy and star-gazing - ANP is your place! MDI & ANP are under appreciated in winter! Do yourself a favor and come to this magical frozen place!

Beautifully refurbished 1850's home in a quiet, residential neighborhood, two blocks from downtown Ellsworth - the gateway to Downeast Maine and the Acadia region. The historic district features a number of beautifully restored 19th-century buildings which have been turned into unique shops, galleries, and restaurants, offering a variety of local goods, artisanal foods, and handmade crafts.

Enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located two story home. This listing is for one bedroom with a queen bed in a larger house. This home has 5 private bedrooms and shared living room, shared full kitchen, shared dinning area, shared upstairs full bathroom, shared downstairs toilet, shared front porch and shared back patio with a grill.

Guest access
With the exception of the other bedrooms, utility closet and basement guest have access to the entire home. Other guests, tenants and family members may be at the house during your stay.

Camp is nestled in a clearing next to the Mill River. A 5 minute walk down our private trails will have you arriving at this secluded peace. Enjoy the trails, fish or paddle in the river, feel like you are camping in the back woods, a convenient walk from your vehicle.

The converted Ice Shack has a comfy futon bed, table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. A newly renovated outhouse contains a basic composting toilet, sink and unheated shower.

Please note: you absolutely must arrive before dark, there are no exceptions, for safety reasons, we will not allow anyone to walk down our forest trail in the dark. Currently, it is dark by 5:30pm, please check the sunset time In Milbridge ME before booking. We cannot refund you if you can't arrive before dark, we already have set the space for you.

Upstairs guest room in sunny renovated home within 5 minute walk to scenic Tidal Falls Preserve giving guest access to shorefront. The upstairs bathroom is located next to guest room. Smaller Cozy house in rural neighborhood with local fisherman next door.

Location is ideal as it’s 25 miles from Bar Harbor and 20 miles from Schoodic Peninsula both of which are the major areas of Acadia National Park.

The space
The guest room is spacious with a double bed and bathroom next to it. It is located up the stairs from the living room area. The house is a relaxing haven for sleep. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and refrigerator for storage or ice. Coffee, tea, milk on hand. The driveway can accommodate 4 vehicles. Guests are welcome to use the 2 bikes available in shed.
House has acompost container. It's fairly quiet and rural so before arrival best to pick up a meal or have dinner out. There are four places nearby for eating out and two breakfast/lunch eateries.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use kitchen and shelf space in the refrigerator. The kitchen is sunny with 2 windows looking out back to field. There is an electric range and a plug in kettle for hot water. A woodstove is in kitchen and guests with experience are welcome to use. Makes for a cozy atmosphere. The bathroom is compact with a shower and tub located right next to guest room. The main entrance to house is in the front close to parking. Because guest room is upstairs the house is not wheelchair accessible. I have Wi-Fi.

During your stay
I'm glad to answer questions about the area and make suggestions. I enjoy sharing breakfast when able but respect guest's privacy. Often folks come in late and I will leave the lights on outside and hallway. Guest room is upstairs so will leave the door open of available room.

Other things to note
My street is Martin Avenue and my house is the fourth on the left with a 42 on the mailbox across the street. There is a large maple and a horse chestnut tree in front near the road. It's hard to miss the trees but the house sits back.

The space
The apartment is on the second floor and consists of an open living room and kitchen area with one bedroom and one bathroom with a stand-up shower with glass door.

There is one queen sized bed in the bedroom and a full-sized futon in the living room to comfortably sleep four.

The kitchen is stocked with the basic cooking and dining essentials, an efficiency sized electric range and oven, and full-sized refrigerator to stock all your groceries (or leftovers from all of Ellsworth’s delicious restaurants!).

Up to two dogs are allowed. Any dogs that will be accompanying you must be mentioned at the time of booking and added to the booking form as there is a fee per dog, per stay.

Please note that if you make a reservation and the original number of guests change, please just let me know so I can make sure to accommodate everyone that is coming. It’s a simple courtesy so I know how many to expect, and to make sure to leave amenities for the proper number of guests.

Guests who are eager to sleep in should note that early traffic noise is going to occur as the apartment is located in a downtown location.

Guests will have access to all of the apartment with the exception of one utility closet in the kitchen which is for our cleaning staff to use. (Guests will be provided with extra towels and linens if needed, located in the bedroom closet)

Guests are not allowed to congregate on the fire escape.

Our space has a vintage vibe and is eclectic. Nothing is fancy, but we strive to keep a comfortable, clean, inviting environment for our guests that gives them all the comforts of home. The apartment is located in a city in a downtown location so folks wanting to sleep in, this might not be the best choice! Also, we do not use chemical cleaners so if you are looking for the smell of heavy scented cleaner or bleach in order to consider it clean, this may not be the best fit for you!

Please note that the smoking or vaping of tobacco is absolutely in no way allowed inside the apartment, hallway, etc. Smoking must be done away from the building. Should tobacco smell be in the apartment there will be a $250 fee added to your total. Lastly, due to the very uncertain future in regards to the state of the US, my strict cancellation policy must remain firm. While I have accommodated partial refunds in the past for folks who very unexpectedly need to cancel, I no longer can reimburse folks if they cancel their already booked stay. Thank you for considering and understanding this matter.

Surrounded by Acadia National Park, yet only an eight minute drive to the delicious restaurants and unique shops of Bar Harbor!

This quaint ranch style home has a newly remodeled bathroom, and a large combined living/dining room. For those who are looking to be a little removed from technology, there is little cell service at the house. Wifi, however, is free to use, so you can communicate with the outside world if you need to.

2.5 miles from the closest entrance to the Park Loop Road!

The space
The bedroom is private, and is across the hall from my bedroom. There is a comfortable queen bed, and a large closet with hangers, if you want to hang up any of your clothes. I will provide towels in your room. In addition, you'll see a large display of information about Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and some of the activities to do while you're in town.

In addition to staying in your bedroom, please feel free to hang out in the living room, too! There is a comfortable couch, and a nice dining room table with four chairs. I'd love to chat with you about your travels, and share some stories about mine!

Guest access
You will be able to access all of the house except for my bedroom. Not because I have anything I want to hide from you, but mostly just because it will be messy :) Please let me know if you'd like to do laundry and I can show you the basement and help you get set up with it.

During your stay
As long as I'm in the house, I'll be available. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about the house, the area, or the national park. In addition, I'd love to sit and chat with you at night. I do my best to treat you as a friend while you are staying with me, and will try to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

Please note that I do have a pup in the house (named Appa!). He is a goldendoodle, and so is hypoallergenic for those concerned about dog allergies. He is a sweetie and loves people. Please do not book if he will be a problem for you!

This entire fourth floor of the Hen House is large and open, with an unrivaled, gorgeous view of Blue Hill Bay in the front, sky lights on one side and large windows overlooking a pond in the back bedroom area. There is a front and rear entrance, and access to pretty gardens. There is a dining/kitchen area. No small children allowed. The Hen House is close to downtown Blue Hill with all its restaurants, galleries, wonderful library and other amenities. Acadia National Park is an hour away.

The space
This apartment has the highest and most prominent views of Blue Hill Bay and Long Island (across the bay) in this area. There is a bright back bedroom and office area, a very large central sitting/TV area and a front kitchen/dining area with notable “medieval” furniture. It’s a great place for writers, artists or others wanting to be above the crowd- with great views and quiet spaces. But it’s on the fourth floor- a garret and not for everyone. It’s also largely open space with little privacy. Yet it’s the favorite place in this historic structure for many people. There are several beds in the large living room. Roku tv works. Minimal heating as the weather gets colder. Not recommended after mid October.

Guest access
Guests have plenty of space on the fourth floor but there are also front and side gardens with outdoor sitting areas (and umbrellas) that have a water view - as well as a back pond area (with a small island) now being restored.

Other things to note
Generally we are looking for guests to stay 3-7 nights in this apartment. It’s a great retreat to write, paint or detox from the wider world. And good exercise climbing the stairs.

The private Jacuzzi room is enhanced with a cathedral ceiling and skylight. Behind each townhouse is a private deck where you can relax and enjoy the fresh Maine air.
