- "This is a nice BnB. Its location is walking distance to Bar Harbor commercial area and far enough away to avoid congestion and traffic. The room (Robin's Nest) was small and cozy. It lacked a TV, mini-fridge, and microwave, but these are not necessities to a BnB room. The mask enforcement was pretty strict, which makes little sense if you think about it. Walking from your room to get a cup of coffee or snack in the sun room, you must wear a mask. But if you sit down to sip your coffee in the sun room, you can take it off. It's just like restaurants where you have to put your mask on just to go to the restroom. Is the risk any greater to people you walk past, as opposed to the people at a table six feet away? Dumb. Maine state health rules are over the top, unfriendly to distant visitors and are a legally unconstitutional restriction on interstate travel. How is it that New Yorkers are safe to enter the state and Arizonans are not? Everyone knows New Yorkers are brash, uncareful, and their COVID numbers prove it. Yet they can waltz right into Maine and spread disease, no questions asked. This BnB enforced the rules much too strictly to be a warm, inviting environment. Businesses don't have to buy into the paranoia and illegal gubernatorial mandates. A business owner with guts should stand up to Gov. Mills' tyranny. She cost Bar Harbor businesses a fortune in revenue in the late spring and early summer. She should be thrown out of office and businesses should sue the state for lost profits. Anyway, none of that will matter when the stupid pandemic is over. Would definitely stay here again."

Each room is also equipped with central air, a flat panel TV, ice bucket, and hairdryer.

Located at the tip of the Blue Hill Peninsula, Brooklin, Maine offers a quiet retreat a bit over an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. A one-minute walk from The Maine Hideaway's doorstep brings you into the historic village of Brooklin, Maine and a close walk to Wooden Boat School.

Our home was built in 1874, we have multiple guest rooms, all with incredibly comfortable mattresses and modern furnishings. We serve a continental breakfast Tue-Sat and hot breakfast on Sun & Mon.

The space
This fantastic room is designed for a couple with a king bed, an AC unit and a shared hallway bathroom (shared with one other room). The beds are Kluft brand and are glorious to sleep on. We have plush cotton towels.

Upon arrival, you will enter through the front door. On the first floor is a coffee, tea, breakfast station with a guest fridge, microwave, plates, bowls, cups, etc.

The location of your room will be on a note at the door, or we will show you. The front porch has lovely seating options to enjoy all that Maine has to offer.

On Tuesdays through Saturdays, we will provide a continental breakfast of coffee, tea, juice, fruit, cereal, yogurt, cheese, protein bars, etc. On Sundays and Mondays, we will provide a full hot breakfast. With advance notice, we can accommodate dietary requests, such as gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian.

The space
This cozy, well-equipped cottage features a comfortable king-size bed and a full-size sleeper sofa, making it ideal for two adults. The fold-out bed is perfect if you're traveling with children. Please note that the cottage shares the property with another home that may be occupied by the owners during your visit. However, no other renters will be on the premises, ensuring a peaceful and private experience.

Located just 15 minutes from the stunning scenery of Schoodic Point in Acadia National Park, the cottage also offers easy access to the charming coastal town of Winter Harbor. For those wishing to explore the main section of Acadia on Mount Desert Island, it's an easy 45-minute drive away.

A minimalist, peaceful retreat on the Quietside. Walking distance to Acadia Park fire roads which are perfect for biking and hiking around Long Pond. Seal Cove harbor is just 5 minutes down the road, where you can enjoy sunset on the beach with a fire. 23 minutes away from Bar Harbor, 15 minutes to Southwest.

The space
The guest house is a large studio, originally made to be a painting space. It's airy and filled with light, wide plank wood floors, lofted ceilings and skylights. You can watch the stars from bed.

The only shower you will have access to is luxuriously outdoors. If you aren't into looking at the clouds, birds, and trees while you bathe, this place isn't for you. The shower is very private, and many guests have commented that is the best part of the stay.


We have a dog named Sadie, she may come greet you. Also, we have two cats named Lucy and Carl. They share the pergola that connects to the guest house. You may see them sun bathing, feel free to say hello!

*We recently had major excavation done to our back yard. The ferns and flowers are in the process of growing back.

Half Moon Inn is 2 minutes from the entrance to Acadia National Park and central to many things on the island. Our guests have loved the location.
There are many things to do close by, like fantastic hiking, biking, kayaking, boating, galleries (local Maine artists are actually quite wonderful and we have some renowned artists on the island, like Richard Estes), shopping, and exploring.

Our grounds have walking trails and some stone steps with no hand rails. Please be careful. You are very close and/or within walking distance of restaurants and 5 minutes from Bar Harbor Village. Enjoy the rural setting with close proximity to shops and restaurants.

The second floor suite has a bedroom with king bed separated by french doors opening onto a very spacious room with three twin beds. There is a private full bathroom which serves the suite. The house is tastefully decorated with new and modern appliances and each room has its own air conditioning and heat.

The Bird's Nest Cottage has a unique location down a quiet in town street, minutes walking distance to the center of Bar Harbor. With private access to the water, it's just a 7 minute walk into town along Bar Harbor's historic and breathtaking Shore Path!

Our newest room has a king bed with padded chevron headboard and your own entrance. Light and airy, this inviting retreat is private and serene. The room is named after Mrs. Sarah Linzee of Boston, who summered here at Yellow House from 1894 to 1903. One of her favorite things was to spend time on the porch enjoying the summer breeze!
