This charming, clean, and nonsmoking older home's interior was newly renovated in 2014. Located on a side street in a quiet neighborhood in downtown Bar Harbor with off-street parking for one vehicle. It has an open floor plan & hard wood floors throughout. All new appliances. There are 2 bedrooms - 1 with a queen, - 1 with a single twin bed and pull out trundle (max 100 lb), plus a queen sleeper sofa in living room. A port-a-crib is available.
The walls are hung with original paintings of Mount Desert Island, and Acadia National Park. Full laundry, wi-fi, cable tv, and a pleasant garden and yard completes the package. While the apartment sleeps 5, ideally this home is best suited for a family - 2 parents with young children, or 2 or 3 adults. The trundle bed is not to be used by anyone weighing more than 110 lbs.

The kitchen has everything you would need (we cooked for ourselves and packed lunches a lot) and the hosts were very generous with all of the details - beach towels and chairs, games and books, laundry detergent, condiments, etc. The laundry is great, and right in a large bathroom as you walk in the back, so it was really easy to come in from a day hiking and get everyone clean quickly. Everyone in the Rusticator (lovely store) below was so kind and welcoming. Seal Harbor is a quieter spot, which we loved, and you can walk right down to the beach, and up to a fun kids store, post office, and outdoor/ice cream shop. Swim in clean clear water at the end of our dock, where you can see 12 feet to the bottom. Green Lake is considered one of the premier lakes in Maine, with spring fed depths of up to 180 feet. Our dock is unusually spacious, with 2 Adirondack chairs at the end and two lounge chairs closer in. There are also additional lounge chairs on the lawn, providing plenty of places to relax.

If you decide to check out the area, Ellsworth is 15 minutes away. It has just about everything you might need or want. Small towns like Blue Hill, Surry, and Belfast are all less than an hour from our location and the city of Bangor is a half hour to our north.

The entrance to Acadia National Park is 40-45 minutes away, and has 45 miles of carriage trails to bike on (without road traffic) and gorgeous hiking trails that wind along the ocean or climb to amazing views. You can rent bikes or sea kayaks at several locations if desired. You might decide to drive to the top of Mt. Cadillac for a spectacular view, go whale watching, drive the scenic Park Loop Road, or enjoy charming towns like Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, and Northeast Harbor.

After a day enjoying the Ellsworth area or Acadia National Park, come back and take a nice cool swim. There's a swim ladder at the end of our dock and the apartment has beach towels for your use. The Loon's Nest does not have a television; we’re hoping that you connect with nature during your stay. We have friends and family who continually turn down day trips when they're here; all they want to do is relax and enjoy our wooded lakeside setting. Whether you decide to explore our beautiful area by car, get active, or just relax, we want you to have a wonderful time!

It is very centrally located yet quiet and private in a wooded setting!

The apartment is a NEWLY renovated open concept second floor apartment with two bedrooms, one bathroom. The master bedroom has a king sized bed with lots of storage and a TV. The the second bedroom has two double beds, lots of storage and a TV!! , plenty of seating for family game night or watching the news on the flat screen TV. There is AC through out the apartment for those warmer summer days!
The kitchen appliances are all NEW. There is plenty of dishes, pots, pans, utensils to cook if you want to!! There are 2 coffee pots, a keurig and a drip kind. The owner supplies spices, coffee, tp, paper towels, shampoo, and soap.

The spacious, private 2nd-floor apartment has its own entry from the front porch, with 16 steps leading to the 2nd-floor spacious unit with 2 bedrooms with queen-size beds, 2 full bathrooms (one with claw foot tub and a separate shower, and the other with combo tub/shower), a fully appointed kitchen/dining room with cathedral ceiling - with herbs, spices, coffee, tea, and all the miscellaneous kitchen tools and appliances just like home. The dining area has a table with seating for four, as well as a separate bench.
The kitchen leads to a large living room with a cathedral ceiling, a large sectional sofa, a reading nook with two chairs, lots of windows, and a wall-mounted Smart Roku TV, where guests may log into their own streaming services or cable accounts. The deck off of the living room has a gas grill, overlooks a small private yard with greenery with stairs leading down to the yard with outdoor seating, and is a wonderful spot to sip your morning coffee or enjoy a glass of wine in the warmth of the late afternoon sun.

- "Great home base for hiking Acadia by day and exploring Bar Harbor at night. Very short walk to town center bars/restaurants. Well-stocked kitchen. Two great bedrooms (and bathrooms) would have made it a perfect place for two couples, though it was just my wife and me this trip. Great mattresses and high quality sheets/towels, etc. Parking in town seems like it was a pain so having a parking spot at the house which was so close to town was really convenient. Outside door lock took a few tries to master but worked fine once we got the hang of it. Only two small a/c units in bedrooms, no central air, though this was fine for us even with one day near 90 degrees esp given we weren’t in house much from 9-5. They have a lot of floor fans and ceiling fans which we had going a few afternoons/nights. Overall we’d highly recommend."

Our one bedroom one bath appartment has a full kitchen and living room area on the first floor. The second floor has another sitting area, a king size bed and full bathroom. The couch on the first floor is a full size pull out if needed.
Our appartment is located in a quiet wooded neighborhood perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. In the evening walk down to Hadley Point Beach for fantastic sunsets. Bring along chairs and have a campfire down at the beach!

Cadillac Mountain’s South Ridge Trail is just a 10-minute walk from the Airbnb with views of Cadillac from the unit’s deck!

Only 4 miles from Bar Harbor, the Airbnb is located near several hiking trails, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole and Ocean Path. The Airbnb borders Acadia National Park on one side and is a convenient place to stay while visiting the area.

Located in the Otter Creek village of Mount Desert, a 10-minute drive from Bar Harbor.

The space
A great starting point for exploring Acadia National Park and all the area has to offer! Travelers have a queen-sized bed in the bedroom, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable living room, and deck with propane grill. New floors throughout the house! There is a newly renovated, full bathroom with double sink and towels provided.

Please note: there is a TV with free shows and movies through the Roku channel, but you would need to sign in to access to your own subscription channels (Netflix, Prime, etc.).

Guest access
This unit is up a flight of stairs, above the garage of 6A. You walk through the garage to access the unit where you have access to the interior of 6A, the washer and dryer, along with the back deck with propane gas grill and backyard. Guests can use the parking spot directly in front of 6A’s white vehicle garage door.

Other things to note
No pets. Thank you for understanding!

I do not live on site, but there is a tenant who lives in 6B who you may see. The units are completely separate and do not share access.

This apartment is close to everything!

The space
The apartment is on the second floor and consists of an open living room and kitchen area with one bedroom and one bathroom with a stand-up shower with glass door.

There is one queen sized bed in the bedroom and a full-sized futon in the living room to comfortably sleep four.

The kitchen is stocked with the basic cooking and dining essentials, an efficiency sized electric range and oven, and full-sized refrigerator to stock all your groceries (or leftovers from all of Ellsworth’s delicious restaurants!).

Up to two dogs are allowed. Any dogs that will be accompanying you must be mentioned at the time of booking and added to the booking form as there is a fee per dog, per stay.

Please note that if you make a reservation and the original number of guests change, please just let me know so I can make sure to accommodate everyone that is coming. It’s a simple courtesy so I know how many to expect, and to make sure to leave amenities for the proper number of guests.

Guests who are eager to sleep in should note that early traffic noise is going to occur as the apartment is located in a downtown location.

Guests will have access to all of the apartment with the exception of one utility closet in the kitchen which is for our cleaning staff to use. (Guests will be provided with extra towels and linens if needed, located in the bedroom closet)

Guests are not allowed to congregate on the fire escape.

Our space has a vintage vibe and is eclectic. Nothing is fancy, but we strive to keep a comfortable, clean, inviting environment for our guests that gives them all the comforts of home. The apartment is located in a city in a downtown location so folks wanting to sleep in, this might not be the best choice! Also, we do not use chemical cleaners so if you are looking for the smell of heavy scented cleaner or bleach in order to consider it clean, this may not be the best fit for you!

Please note that the smoking or vaping of tobacco is absolutely in no way allowed inside the apartment, hallway, etc. Smoking must be done away from the building. Should tobacco smell be in the apartment there will be a $250 fee added to your total. Lastly, due to the very uncertain future in regards to the state of the US, my strict cancellation policy must remain firm. While I have accommodated partial refunds in the past for folks who very unexpectedly need to cancel, I no longer can reimburse folks if they cancel their already booked stay. Thank you for considering and understanding this matter.

This entire fourth floor of the Hen House is large and open, with an unrivaled, gorgeous view of Blue Hill Bay in the front, sky lights on one side and large windows overlooking a pond in the back bedroom area. There is a front and rear entrance, and access to pretty gardens. There is a dining/kitchen area. No small children allowed. The Hen House is close to downtown Blue Hill with all its restaurants, galleries, wonderful library and other amenities. Acadia National Park is an hour away.

The space
This apartment has the highest and most prominent views of Blue Hill Bay and Long Island (across the bay) in this area. There is a bright back bedroom and office area, a very large central sitting/TV area and a front kitchen/dining area with notable “medieval” furniture. It’s a great place for writers, artists or others wanting to be above the crowd- with great views and quiet spaces. But it’s on the fourth floor- a garret and not for everyone. It’s also largely open space with little privacy. Yet it’s the favorite place in this historic structure for many people. There are several beds in the large living room. Roku tv works. Minimal heating as the weather gets colder. Not recommended after mid October.

Guest access
Guests have plenty of space on the fourth floor but there are also front and side gardens with outdoor sitting areas (and umbrellas) that have a water view - as well as a back pond area (with a small island) now being restored.

Other things to note
Generally we are looking for guests to stay 3-7 nights in this apartment. It’s a great retreat to write, paint or detox from the wider world. And good exercise climbing the stairs.

We rent Sunday through Sunday only! Apartment is above a garage, nestled among the trees. Well equipped kitchen. King bed with air conditioner. Full size bathroom with walk in shower. Linens supplied. Wifi, and satellite tv. Perfect get away for those seeking privacy. 10 minute drive to village of Blue Hill. 60 minute drive to Acadia. No pets and non-smoking.

New open apartment at the top of easy-access spiral stairs, private, and quiet located in the forest and a short walk to the sea. It features a balcony facing eastward, a queen size bed, and futon to sleep an additional two people. Also included is a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, hot-plate, and microwave. The space
This is a cozy apartment inside a larger home. The front entry to the 3,000 square foot house has entries to three separate apartments. This apartment is very private. It has its own bathroom with a large shower. There's a full kitchen for preparing meals. We have wi-fi and high speed internet and the apartment has a flat screen, smart tv connected to netflix.

Guest access
Guests have their own key and can enter from the front entry. There's plenty of space for parking and guests may enjoy the front porch, complete with rocking chairs and a glass table for eating.

One of the other 2 units in the building is located above the Airbnb, and you may be able to hear footsteps occasionally.
