Going in the heat of summer was the only issue, as there is just one AC unit in the living room so both the bedroom and the kitchen stay really warm. Here on the banks of Togus Pond - as this 654-acre lake is known locally - it's not uncommon to spot bald eagles, geese, beavers, and turtles. It's also a certified wildlife habitat and an ideal home base for those looking to be convenient to Augusta on their way to or from Acadia National Park.

Ascend a flight of 16 stairs to be rewarded with gorgeous views of the lake on three sides, as well as a private balcony that feels like it's part of the tree canopy. Begin each morning with a paddle around the lake in the provided canoe, returning home to read on the lakeshore, breathe in the pine-scented air, or build a campfire in the shared fire pit. (Please note that the canoe and the firepit is shared with the property downstairs.) - "I needed a quiet, safe place to stay while I had some business in Belgrade. This was such a sweet little spot, with great cove access, amd the bedroom had a great view of the water. Nice central location for day trips to Portland / Camden / Belfast / Rockland or Mountains for white water rafting. There are 2 Kayaks to use. Central shared floating Dock. Bring your own boat, there is a mooring to use.

Beautifully preserved 1800's modern colonial on 3 acres of lawns / woods in a small New England village. Fishing /kayaking on property from a stream coming out of Wilson lake in foothills of the Western Maine Mountains, best the beginning of season. Easy access to ATV/snowmobile/ jogging trails (parking onsite for 'toys'). Boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, touring all around you. Private entrance with private kitchen (stove/ fridge/ dishes- stocked private kitchen for your use!)

The space
Local market for pizza subs an incidentals. There are also fax/scan/copy services available on site at no charge. Fresh linens available as requested for stays over a week. We already have repeat bookings from this summer's guests for 2021, so book early! There is a $20 extra fee for stays of only one or two nights. This is to cover the cleaning expenses as after Air B&B takes their monies I receive just over $60 per night for the entire unit.

Guest access
Rooms as booked per the ad write up. Prior to arrival the unit will be unlocked for you and in the upstairs desk there will be keys for your main entrance as well as access to your rooms (deadbolt lock). You may use at your discretion.

Other things to note
Free off street parking. If rainy we have a wonderful eight screen movie theater at only five $ a ticket! Newest releases are shown with very comfortable seating, some theaters even have the newer recliner seats and couches! And not to forget the upscale eateries- Calzolaios and Salt and Pepper!- both within a five minute drive. Washer and dryer service available at additional cost ($7 per load- washed and dried and returned)

We are minutes from Wilson Lake in Wilton and Kineowatha Park, a recreational center that offers swimming, walking trails, and tennis courts. We are close to restaurants and shopping in Wilton and Farmington and the UMF Campus,
Titcomb Ski slope is just minutes over the hill from us.

The space
If you like the country you will like staying at 875 Orchard Drive. Easy access from Rts 2 & 4. Many sights to visit within a 50 mile radius. Mountains to climb, boating, swimming, golf and nearby tennis courts at Kineowatha Park in Wilton.

This space is separate from the rest of the house. A private driveway and entrance into the apartment give you your own personal space.
There is also a carport by your entrance to get you out of the weather.

The apartment is in the back of a duplex. We are also renting out the other unit. The space is fully stocked with dishes, appliances, linens, etc. and is set up so that traveling professionals, people in between homes, or someone looking for a place to hunker down for the winter. There's a natural gas fireplace for heat, an ac/unit in the bedroom, and a box fan.

Our neighborhood is very nice and there are plenty of scenic places to walk (downtown, around the historic district, up by the cemetery). It's a quiet street that's easy on the eyes. And you're tucked back in a nice little corner with windows offering great views of the neighborhood on either side.

Guest access
You'll have access to the balcony, the back stairs, and the entire 1 bed, 1 bath apartment. There's a fully stocked kitchen, wifi, sheets, towels, etc so you just need to land here with a suitcase and some groceries.

Other things to note
This is a very old building and is undergoing slow-paced, but constant renovations. We communicate very proactively and do most of the work ourselves when we have time. Most of our guests have barely noticed aside from small interruptions like temporary power outages.
