The Space:
This spacious 2 bedroom apartment of approximately 900 square feet is ideal for 4 guests. Located on the second floor of a charming, two family home built in the early 20th century that has been updated abs tastefully furnished. Here the “modern design” and the “rustic charm” mix perfectly. Hardwood floors and large windows throughout which provide lots of natural light.

All guests have access to the backyard, it’s quiet and beautiful, has a patio set, fire pit, garden, and beautiful trees along the property line.

Like most Maine homes, during the colder months the sweet retreat is kept at a comfortable 70 degrees.

This spacious home of approximately 1,200 square feet is just 1.1 miles from I-95 and located on the ground floor of a charming, two family home completely renovated and tastefully furnished in 2020. The Space:
Minutes from from Colby College (1.5 miles) , Inland Hospital (1 mile), Maine General (2 miles), Exit 127 on I-95 (1.1 miles). Forced air heat, WiFi, TV (Youtube TV).The apartment is in a quiet, family friendly Waterville neighborhood, has two private entrances, two parking spots, three bedrooms (one queen bed, one queen bed and a desk, and two twin beds), one bathroom (full bath with a bathtub), an and an open concept kitchen and dining room. The spacious and fully outfitted kitchen was renovated in 2021 with new appliances, cabinets, and a breakfast nook; yet maintains some of the charming 1940s features (hidden ironing board).

Hardwood floors and windows throughout which provide lots of natural light.

The charming home is particularly suitable for families! If you are bringing the little ones, let us know and we will set out the high chair, trains, toys, backyard wooden playhouse, outdoor picnic table, lawn games, and stroller!

Like most Maine homes, during the colder months the sweet retreat is kept at a comfortable 70 degrees.

Guest Access:
To open the door: use the door code by provided to you prior to the 4 pm check-in. For guest security, code is changed with each visit. Your code will be sent by direct message prior to your check-in.
To lock the door: Hold the # button for three seconds.

During warm weather months, guest are welcome to enjoy the outdoor patio/living area and help themselves to fresh produce and gorgeous flowers available (July-September) in our raised garden beds.

Waterville is a small town just off the interstate in Central Maine and is approximately an hour from all major cities, the mountains, the coast, and about
2 1/2+-hrs to Acadia.
The rental is in a residential neighborhood less than a mile from the interstate, Colby, restaurants, shopping, movies, and parks. There are many recreational opportunities nearby to walk/run, hike, bike, and/or kayak.
The apartment has a private entrance, on the second floor (13 stairs up) in an owner occupied duplex.

The space
The one bedroom rental apt. Is in a older, 1932, New England home originally built as a duplex. There is driveway parking and a private entrance. The apartment is up a flight of stairs (13 steps to be exact) on the second floor of a duplex. Your hosts live on the first floor. The rental is fairly spacious, approx. 700 sqft.
The living room has a a Roku TV with access to several paid channels, futon couch, and a poang chair.
The dining area has a old fashioned metal topped table with three chairs.
The bedroom has a queen bed (former guests have rated as comfortable), bureau, and closet.
The kitchen has cooking/eating utensils, Keurig, toaster, blender, microwave, stove, and fridge.
The bathroom has an old fashioned claw foot tub with a shower. Just a note, the tub is higher than a built in tub. One must be able to step up, and down, appropriately 2’.

Guests can use most of the upstairs apt. All except for two rooms which are locked and for storage.

Other things to note
Many pple have commented on the claw foot tub after they’ve stayed. Some pple love it some do not. The reality is that the older tub is a bit higher than the standard tub, one must be able to step up about 2 feet and step down 2 feet to get in and out. We realize this tub is not for everyone!

The space
The house was built in 1910 and is located on a main street in Winslow. The available apartment is on the second floor, and is a beautiful, 2 bedroom apartment where one has been made to the office with a daybed.

The heat pump acts as heater AND air conditioning - all you have to do is raise or lower the temperature (using the remote on the wall opposite the TV) to your requirements.

Guest access
The whole apartment is available, with the exception of the housekeeping storage located in the bathroom.
Outside, utilize any of the items for cooking: smoker, grill or griddle or any of the seating available.

Other things to note
Please note that under the hood vent are two FireStoppers, which are only there as a precaution. Cooking can easily be done under them, but please refrain from creating flames under them, as that will activate them. Heat from the stove will not activate them.

The bathroom is equipped with a motion sensor for the light (due to the location of the light switch far from the door) - as soon as you enter the bathroom, the light comes on automatically (if it senses low light from the window). The light will turn off automatically too.
Especially during winter months, it may be wise to leave the door open to bring heat in the area.
Please leave the shower curtain liner inside the tub - it’s there for your safety and to prevent costly repairs.

If deciding to add spice to your life when cooking, please mount the used spice jar(s) on the refrigerator, so we can ensure the next guest has access to a full jar as well.

November 15 - April 15
No parking is allowed on the street per city ordinance, which causes the parking area to be more occupied. If leaving before 7:00 in the morning, you may park in front of any cars in the driveway, if that’s easier.
