- "The pictures don’t do the house and location justice. Location is peaceful. The house is spotless. The view 5 stars. Only a 30-35 min drive to bar harbor. Communication with the host was speedy and informative and never made me felt like a burden. Would certainly recommend and did not want to leave." - "The views were outstanding- lovely to see every morning upon waking. The chalet was spacious and smelled wonderful upon entering- like the woods! A relaxing and picturesque stay❣️"

Lovely 3 bedroom, 3 bath log home on Graham Lake in Ellsworth Maine. Come enjoy a lake view with rocking chairs on the deck for relaxation, and short trip to Acadia National Park. Full kitchen, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher. Master bedroom with a 3/4 bath on the second floor with a queen sized bed. Main floor bedroom with a queen sized bed and a full bath. Basement level bedroom with 2 twin beds and 3/4 bathroom. full sized washer and dryer. There is a front deck facing west towards the water for those beautiful Maine sunsets. Ellsworth is fair sized city only 3 miles away with many unique and chain restaurants and stores. Numerous outdoor lobster pounds on the road to Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park. Bar Harbor and Acadia are about 30 minutes away.
The property is empty 8 months of the year and since it's location is in the middle of a forested area and knowing that there have been break ins in the immediate area we have installed a security system with multiple cameras outside and one inside that can be covered up upon your arrival if you so choose. If this is an issue for you I suggest you do not rent the cabin.
- "We enjoyed our visit to Graham Lake; the cottage was very nice with everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well supplied. Our grandsons learned how to kayak during the week and had a great time on the beach and in the water. A nice bonus was the nearby access to the Downeast Sunrise Trail for ATV riding. One of the best trails in the state. Enjoyed access to Ellsworth for restaurants and shopping as well. Will plan to do this again."

Newly-constructed 3-bedroom, 2-bath chalet nestled in wooded area on the island of Bar Harbor, Me just outside the village. New home is decorated with coastal and Acadia Park themes, beautifully-appointed, yet with a cozy feeling of "home." This cottage sleeps up to eight comfortably with many amenities, including a wrap-around outside deck and vaulted scenic-view windows to enjoy. This home is centrally located, convenient for Island visitors wanting exploration of Mt. Desert Island and its 5 harbors, scenic horse drawn-carriage rides/bicycle trips/all-level hikes, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Jordan's Pond with its famous Tea House serving popovers every afternoon. Cadillac Mountain boasts amazing views, and if tourists desire, the sunrise every morning is spectacular. This well-located home is also close to the Islands causeway which leads to historic sites, antique-hunting and so on. Also check out Hobo Retreat VRBO listing 434344.
- "Welcoming, beautifully decorated, clean home near lots of activities." - "House was perfect home base for our family (2 parents, 2 grandparents, 2 kids ages 8 &12). Plenty of room for everyone and located with easy access to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and quietside of MDI. We had bikes with us and were very comfortable leaving them outside of the house. Home itself is in very good conditon, adorably decorated, private, well stocked, and was very well cleaned in advance of our stay. Plenty of towels, toiletries, and paper goods which were very much appreciated. Internet kept up with 6+ devices on our rainy day. For the home cooks: We generally choose to cook and grill a lot when traveling. We opted not to use the onsite grill in this case. It did work, but is on the smaller side and has only 2 burners. We also travel with a nonstick pan, chef's knife, and silicone spatula.... we were happy to have brought all of these with us. Finally, we did opt to purchase a few bags of ice to have on hand."

Cape Rosier is a magical place. Under every rock, around every corner, under the sea wonders are to be found. Enjoy the magic of a rocky beach, the sweet blueberries in the field across the way and the sandy beach just a short walk down the road. Whether in the sun or the swirls of fog, Cape Rosier is a magical place.
The chalet is a peaceful retreat to enjoy time away from the bustle of everyday life.
The Cape is located in a beautiful area surrounded by great biking, boating, nature walks and beach exploring. Just down the road you can explore the Holbrook Island Sanctuary where you can take easy hike to see wonderful birds and beautiful lilies in the pond. Visit the 4 seasons organic farm market and the Nearings good life Center. Or just sit by the shore (or inside the cottage) and watch the boats go by- the 4 masted schooners, lobster boats and more. Watch the seals, loons, cormorants and dolphins swim past. This is the cottage that has it all for a great get away.
Most of our guests are repeat customers. Book early to avoid disappointment.
- "My family of 4 and our dog had a wonderful stay at the Chalet. Buz and Rosemary were wonderful hosts, setting up a crib for us in advance and bringing in a high chair for the baby. The view is spectacular, the house super clean and well-appointed and the location is perfect for enjoying and exploring the area. We hope to come back again. Many wonderful memories made here. Thank you Buz and Rosemary!" - "An absolutely beautiful place! If you’re looking for peace, quiet and restoration, then this area is for you. The chalet was as advertised; magical and immaculate. As part of a family compound, it’s location still lends itself to privacy and autonomy. Be forewarned, staying here in the chalet will spoil you and sets very high standards for any stays you have elsewhere. To say it was “immaculate” is no exaggeration. Beautifully decorated and comfortable as well. We only used one bedroom during this stay and were grateful for a firm mattress. They have thought of everything in their amenities; fully equipped kitchen, binoculars, outdoor seat cushions, market umbrellas, Adirondack chairs, lawn chairs, a picnic table and grill and even a luggage rack (so grateful!) Their welcome/info binder was literally the most up-to-date, detailed one that I’ve seen and filled with recommendations and a sprinkling of delightful humor. The kitchen is cozy yet efficient and we cooked most every night using the gas stovetop and outdoor grill. A private beach is directly in front of the chalet. By coastal Maine standards, it is wonderfully accessible in terms launching kayaks (which we didn’t bring this trip, but you can rent.) A midweek storm left us without power for only a couple hours and we didn’t even realize it (until Lewis popped over to check on us) because of their backup battery and generator systems. They even shared their garden onions and lettuce with us! Highly recommend!"

- "The cottage was located in a quiet area and was very close to the Schoodic Peninsula. It was clean and everything was accurately described." - "Everything we needed was there. Minutes from Acadia park on Schoodic point. 40 minutes from main Acadia park on Mount desert isle, Bar Harbor and Cadillac mountain. Very secluded. Weather was perfect." - "As soon as we stepped foot into the house, we were very pleased. We loved the open floor plan and the beautiful deck. We enjoyed playing baggo on the deck before the mosquitoes came out. It was also nice getting up early and sitting on the deck with coffee. My sister rented nearby and visited and we had a nice lobster dinner as the kids played video games (my nephews brought from home) downstairs on the large screen tv. The open floor plan allowed for us to enjoy one another with conversation, board games, and laughs. The host, Amy, knew we were in the area on the day of check-in and told us we could check in early which was greatly appreciated. She also told us of some fishing spots. Our day trips included walking along Winter Harbor/Schoodic Point, antique shopping at 1A Relic, shopping in Ellsworth boutiques, meeting up with a lobsterman for local lobsters and crabs, and of course, Bar Harbor & Acadia (Cadillac Mountain for sunset & Jordan Pond). People on other reviews mentioned that the house was hot and that the sun came through the livingroom windows which they felt should have blinds or curtains. Let it be noted that there is now an A/C system throughout the house and the air was very comfortable. And I love that the windows are kept uncovered as the scenery is beautiful in the back woods. We were constantly looking out the windows for wildlife."

- "Loved the cabin - it was perfect for our family. We were happy to be out of town and on the water, beds were comfy and the cabin clean. Had enough pots and pans, utensils to cook meals." - "This was the first time we visited Maine, and Maine did not disappoint. Spruce met all our needs and Peter was the perfect host. He was quick to answer all my questions/ texts as well as fix the outside deck light. The house had everything we needed to make our own meals and hang out at night playing cards. Also having a house on the beach was a great way to spend time fishing or walking or just sitting Spruce is in the perfect location to Bar Harbor, Acadia, National Park, as well as the surrounding areas. We loved our dinners from Mainely barbecue, as well as Sweet Peas. C-Rays lobster was the best around. I highly recommend Spruce to anybody visiting the Bar Harbor area and wanting to wake up every morning to hear the ocean waves on the beach. I am sure we will return one day and hope to stay at Spruce again. Thanks Peter and team for ensuring a wonderful vacation."

(I accidentally left my original review for the chalet there instead of here.) Would definitely stay again!" - "We had a wonderful stay, check in was smooth and easy, Peter was great about keeping us up to date with possible early check-in. The Bluebery Pie and Preserves were excellent! Peter was great with communication and giving recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The binder was extremely helpful. - "We thoroughly our stay. The house is a short drive to the smaller part of the national park. We hiked, biked, fished and kayaked and enjoyed seeing some of the nearby small towns. The house is about an hour from Bar Harbor and we went to the larger section of the park one day. That said, by staying at the house, we avoided the crush of tourists and traffic. One night we had family Olympics with foosball, darts, PacMan and other games in the house. The kitchen was well supplied and the house was big enough that when we wanted alone time, people could choose their spots in the house, on the deck or by the water."

Please note that as this is a working farm, you may experience some farm smells—something we cherish as part of the life we love here. Beautiful Chalet like home on a cove of your own. Very remote feel yet close to everything. Great for multiple families to get together and yet still have space of their own.
We are new to VRBO but have rented the property with Airbnb for the past few years and have a 5.0 rating.
Seclusion and privacy, with a feeling of remoteness, yet close access to all necessities and to Acadia National Park.
A long winding gravel road leads to the house, deep in the Singing Woods, right on the shore of Kilkenny cove. The nearest neighbors are 1/4 mile away, and other than the caretaker (he lives in a seperate, private apartment) and clammers on the tidal flats of the cove, you won't see anyone.
Yet there is a convienice store just a few minutes away and the town of Ellsworth, with all he necessary stores, is only 10 minutes away.
Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Mount Desert Island are only 30 minutes away.
+ Incredible views of an ocean cove!

Wide Range of Activities: Mount Desert Island offers a wide variety of things to do, for adults, teens, and young children. Rent bicycles and ride the carriage roads. No cars allowed. There are several golf courses, one, of course, being Kebo Valley (3miles away). Take a kayak adventure with an outfitter, and have dinner out at some great local restaurants. There are museums that tell the history of the island and its people and the Acadia National Park offers walks, bird watching, and movies at Blackwoods campground one mile away.

- "The house was very clean and had plenty of space for our family of 4 (2 adult children). The house is very close to an entrance to Acadia, the more adventurous of our party hiked 2 trails that were even closer to the property. We had everything we needed during our stay." - "Perfect location if looking for an isolated Maine retreat with close proximity to Park and main street Bar Harbor. Advanced bikers (road & gravel) can access the park riding direct from this location. (Disclaimer there are hills) Quick access to Otter Cliff Road into Park brings you to a great place to watch the sunrise on the Cliffs. Right on the road to the house-short walk- you can access a short trail into the park that brings you to the base of Otter Creek inlet that has a little & less popular beach. House is great- cooked and ate almost all our meals there ...it was a treat bbq'ing on the charcoal Weber grill... everything came out great. Nice and quiet location."
