Out and about
No need to drive during your stay, as well as being able to walk to the sea front and village centre, around the village there are many varied footpaths leading you through public woodland, along the Danestream or down to the coast and up onto the clifftop to enjoy the panoramic sea views.
Walk on the shingle bank to Hurst Castle (built by Henry VIII to defend the Solent and where Charles l was imprisoned before his trial & execution in London in 1649), takes approximately 45 minutes (or take the ferry from Keyhaven). On the return trip why not visit the 18th century Gun Inn (fresh locally caught crab a speciality and log fires in the winter).
Fossil hunting, paddle boarding and surfing are also popular activities along this interesting coastline.
Regular ferries from local Keyhaven harbour and Lymington will take you across to Hurst Castle and the Isle of Wight. If you want to explore further, there are many nearby interesting places such as Highcliffe Castle, the lovely village of Beaulieu with its well known motor museum and riverside walk to Buckler’s Hard and the maritime museum - all within easy reach. Visit the Georgian town of Lymington with its colourful Saturday market and cobbled quayside. (From May – October regular “Story of Lymington” walks are escorted by volunteer guides in the town).

Bird Watching – The area is a wildlife haven and very popular with bird enthusiasts. Walks straight from the door to the local nature reserve and the Keyhaven salt marshes – a favourite place to see swans, Brent geese, oyster catchers, little egrets and curlew. The hide located at the start of the shingle bank by Raft Rocks Café is a sheltered place to view the wildlife.
During the summer months you can take the Hop-on, hop-off New Forest bus tour from Milford on Sea – a great ‘car free’ way to experience a wide area of the New Forest National Park.
A short drive from Milford to the village of Hythe gives you the opportunity to take a ride on the World’s oldest pier train to the end of the 130 year old pier, from here you can catch the regular ferry to Southampton. Here you will find the Tudor House, Art Gallery and the Sea City Museum with its unique exhibition and interactive story of the Titanic.

The New Forest – ponies can be found grazing on the open heathland and you usually get to spot a deer or two as well. Cosy and traditional forest pubs are a welcome stop after exploring the many beauty spots in the forest, autumn is a great time of the year to capture all the wonderful changing colours and fungi of the forest with your camera.

Durmast House is a handsome property reached at the end of the drive. The house is set in 4 acres of garden designed by the famous Edwardian designer Gertrude Jekyll and which is listed in the Hampshire Register of Historic Gardens. Guests are welcome to wander around the garden.

'Lookout' is a stylish maisonette that offers comfortable accommodation and everything you could need for a relaxing getaway. Beautifully equipped 2 double bedroom apartment it's a perfect base for a weekend of shopping, eating out, exploring the New Forest and the local beaches. 'Lookout' is a first floor 2 double bedroom self-contained maisonette, tucked away at the bottom of a private driveway.

There is communal entrance shared with only 1 neighbour. A flight of stairs takes you to private yellow front door. As you enter the apartment to your left there is living / dining room, which has a comfortable corner sofa with plenty of cushions. There is a flat screen smart TV and Blu-Ray player with plenty of Blu-Ray movies to watch and excellent WiFi. There is also a dining table with space for 4, perfect for enjoying a home cooked brunch or dinner, or to answer some work emails.

Opposite the lounge is the kitchen, which has everything you'll need to cook: 4-ring hob, oven, integrated dishwasher, integrated fridge / freezer, integrated washing machine plus toaster and kettle. There’s also plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, saucepans and cooking utensils.

To the right from the front door there are 2 double bedrooms, which have king size beds with fresh bed linen and towels. There is also storage and hanging space for your belongings. If required, we can provide a travel cot and a high chair for our youngest guests.

To ensure the peaceful relaxing break our guests are looking for it is our policy that we do not accept children of any age or pets no matter how well behaved. We also operate a no smoking policy. Guests have their own designated parking space.

The kitchen which is situated on the ground floor with a door leading to the garden and parking area. The kitchen is fully equipped for your needs including an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink and plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils. There is also an iron and ironing board supplied.

From the kitchen area the stairs lead to the rest of the apartment.
The spacious sitting room is on the first floor and has two sofas, a coffee table, elegant lighting, a large flat screen TV with DVD player. The dinning table and chairs are in the lounge allowing view through the double aspect windows and large double doors that lead out to the balcony..

The balcony has a couple of reclining chairs (available during the summer) for you to sit back and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, and maybe a glass of wine to help unwind..
There is also a table and chairs where you could enjoy your breakfast and enjoy the morning sun.
You could also sit and enjoy the stars at night as we have very low levels of light pollution. You may even see the badgers roaming around looking for worms and digging up the lawn, our resident hare or the family of green woodpeckers!!

The bedroom has a lovely comfortable double bed for a good nights sleep and there is plenty of storage in the wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a sets of towels for each guest and we have supplied a hair dryer in the top drawer of the chest of drawers. Bedding is also provided.

There is also a large en-suite bathroom.The spacious bathroom is en suite and is fully equipped with a lovely deep bath with shower over and a toilet and hand basin. We have supplied a few toiletries in the bathroom just in case you have forgotten yours including shower gel, liquid soap, tissues, toothbrushes and toothpaste and shower cap.

We have a large garden that you are welcome to make use of and enjoy. We try to grow as many of our own vegetables as we can and we also have chickens to supply us with fresh eggs daily.
You are more than welcome to help yourselves to any of the produce in the garden, and fresh eggs from the nest.
We have lots of vegetables including beans, carrots, beetroot, and salad leaves as well as tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers in the green house depending on the time of year.
Our accommodation has a strict NO PETS and NO CHILDREN no matter how small or well behaved.
Please be aware we do not allow charging of electric vehicles at our apartment.

The front of the property overlooks the bustling high street with its boutique shops and many cafes and restaurants. The entrance to the property is approached through the electric gates and the parking area, up a flight of stairs and across the south facing roof terrace which offers stunning views of the Solent and Isle of Wight. Sit and relax here, a glorious sun trap, ideal for alfresco dining.

- "We had a great stay at Island View. The flat was clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. The flat felt more like someone’s home rather than a generic rental. The kitchen was especially well appointed - everything you need to cook a meal plus some staples which were convenient. The location on High Street was certainly convenient for restaurants and stores. The Tesco express is nearby and the harbor is easy walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed Lymington including the Saturday market on High Street. It was easy enough to park in the private gated parking area even on market day. We like being on the top end of High Street, which is quieter – no restaurant noise. There was some street noise noticeable from the front bedroom but not the back double bedroom. Also, the flat was on two of the upper levels which helped. We would definitely recommend a stay at Island View."

Beaufort house is an extremely spacious, beautiful, stylish apartment on 2 floors with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Bursting with character in the heart of the historic town of Lymington within the New Forest National Park.
The space:
Beaufort House is full of charming character with high ceilings and wooden beams, The apartment is very light and airy, with a sun trap terrace to sit out on and enjoy a coffee and some down time.
We are situated on the high street above Caldwells estate agents. So right in the heart of it all.
My Father purchased the property in February 2018, and together we have re-designed and refurbished with beautiful furniture, fabrics and accessories.

There are two bedrooms on the second floor, one with a kingsize bed and en-suite. This room has a beautiful navy velvet headboard with a large blanket box in the same fabric, a large wardrobe and plenty of drawers to store your belongings during your stay.

The second bedroom, is a cosy double, there is a gorgeous orange flower print headboard, we have gone bright in this room as it is a small space so we wanted it to be bright but cosy too. There is a wooden open hanging unit to hang clothes, also there are two drawers in the bed base if more storage is required.

The lounge is a bright room with it's beautiful ornate coving , and blue Farrow and Ball walls to make the furniture and art stand out. The paintings have been shipped over from South Africa so that it has a bit of a SA feel too.

There is a downstairs bathroom with a bath, mirror with light sensor switch to the side

Japanese kitchen knives, very sharp so please be careful! .

Kitchen leads onto a beautiful sunny terrace garden with a gas webber BBQ.

Our front door is on the High Street, we share this with Caldwells, straight ahead of you is another Georgian glazed door, that is to the apartment. You will be given keys for both doors, as the front one stays open during office hours then locked at night.

New Milton, Barton's neighbouring town has a main line railway station with fast connection to London Waterloo. There are excellent bus routes to Bournemouth and Southampton and trips around the New Forest area on their open top blue route bus.

When my father took over from his dad in 1951 there were 5 working horses in here. They were separated by stall partitions and had a hay manger under the window. This was filled with hay, forked down from the hay loft above. The horses were used for everything from ploughing the fields to towing the heavy dray carts and could be ridden too, if rather slowly. At the time they were more reliable than tractors, but that wouldn’t last long..

- "What a fantastic weekend we had at Warbourne Farm. The accommodation was brilliant, perfect for our two families with 2 sets of teens. Beds were super comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked and the rest of the barn was gorgeously accessorised (we didn’t even turn the TV on!) We were all bowled over by how much we enjoyed the farm animals - you’ve never seen a teenager move quicker when the bottles came out to feed the lambs. By the end of the weekend they were even enthusiastically walking to deposit food scape in the compost. The highlight was Humphrey the goat of course! We will definitely be back!"

We are able to provide a fold out single bed for children and we may also be able to provide a travel cot + thick mattress but you’d need to check with us first on the travel cot availability. We only provide bedding and linen for the double bed. If you choose to utilise the fold up bed - it will make the bedroom a bit cramped.

Small but fully functional, free WiFi, appx 7 minute walk to Redbridge station, gets you into the city center in 7 minutes. Redbridge is not a main train station so you have to look at the schedule. Geeting Around
Redbridge train station is about 7 minute walk. The main road is about same distance if you cut thru the Nissan garage just across the street, or about 10 minutes walk a more conventional route there are several bus lines running often. It is also accessible to the M27/M3

The Brick Barn combines traditional materials with modern comforts for a cosy and stylish break in the heart of the New Forest. The sense of space has been retained by keeping the ground floor living area to its full height with a mezzanine landing and exposed rafters. This reflects how the barn used to be with a partial floor to store the grains for milling below.

The mill wheel is still on the side of the barn and this was driven by a steam engine back in the day. As was traditional in these barns, the downstairs has a soft brick floor and upstairs is laid with recycled oak floor boards from a 180 year old Amish barn, both with underfloor heating. In the kitchen and living area, you will find original stall partitions, once used for the working horses, which later gave way to tractors.
