Would also recommend taking the ferry over to Russell. The area around the ferry landing is pretty and has lots of options for a relaxing lunch overlooking the beach, but I would also suggest taking the 15 mins walk across to Long Beach, which is stunning. Also recommend visiting Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island, either as part of a boat trip around the islands or as a direct return ferry trip. I was very sceptical but the visit there was another highlight for us"

Our well appointed 2 bedroom apartments are centrally located one block (80metres) from Paihia’s best swimming beach. You can park undercover in the lock up garage and walk to the main amenities. It is an 800m stroll along the waterfront to the wharf and Paihia village with a large selection of restaurants and shops. The main supermarket is 800m along the waterfront in the opposite direction. There are plenty of things to see and do in the Bay of Islands and we recommend you allow at least 3 days or longer to enjoy the area. Being the birthplace of our nation the area is steeped in history. If you are in the Bay of Islands to enjoy a spot of fishing, diving or watersports you will find the boat ramp 1.5 km away and for the keen golfers the golf club 3km away, just past the treaty grounds.

The space
This well appointed modern 2 bedroom, airconditioned apartment is situated above the garage in a block of 3 similar apartments. It has access to a private bbq area, wash down facilities for your boat and even a filleting bench for your daily catch. With a partial view of the ocean this centrally located unit will enable you to create a holiday full of memories.

The two bedrooms both contain super king beds making this apartment an ideal option for two couples. The beds can be separated into singles if preferred. Please request your preferred room configuration in your reservation. Downstairs in the private and secure garage basement is the laundry. An open plan kitchen is set up with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, hotplates and fully equipped kitchen utensils. The lounge / dining area includes a flat screen TV. The lounge area opens onto a private deck that can be opened onto adjoining units should you be holidaying with friends or family. Free Wifi and multi-channel TV is available.

Guest access:
There is free parking in the garage and guests can access the apartment via its own entrance. A code will be supplied for the lock box prior to your arrival at the property. Enjoy your stay in Paihia in our super comfy semi-rural family home. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac street, with a stunning view over the native bush and you can see the Te Haumi river meandering through the mangroves.

Far away from the big city noise but so close to town for excursions, restaurants, adventures, history and even if it's just for drinks.

Ferries just 5 min away, boat ramp just 2 min away! Perfect family home!

We got already 70 plus excellent reviews from other booking websites - don't hesitate to book now.

Our house sleeps easily 10 adults (2 in each room plus living room), and we have one small rollaway available, the couch can be used as a sleeping spot and we have a cot on request. If you book for 12 adults, be aware this is just a 4 bedroom house. We had many groups staying that were active outdoors all day and only retired for the night - so this comes then as a bargain.

Otherwise, you can easily sleep 8 adults and 4 children (the bunk bed is a regular single mattress on top, double mattress and move-out trundler) plus rollaway bed in wardrobe and cot in wardrobe. Please note, that the amount of bathrooms stays the same: 1 toilet, one bathroom and one shower with toilet.

Both rollaway and cot free of charge but please let us know you require them to be set up and we happily assist with this.

We are close to bush area and lush gardens surround us so there are bugs around and can get in sometimes.

The apartment has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. There is a wardrobe and shelving in each room for personal items.
The entry hall is large with space for shoes, and hooks for wet jackets or coats. There are books and magazines for relaxing time.
Through the outside door in the bathroom, there is access to a small back yard, with table and chairs.

Please drive down the driveway and park in front of the 2 terracotta wall pots where the Parking sign is. Because my neighbour requires access to his driveway, it would be appreciated if you would park close to the wall, once your vehicle is unpacked. There is also parking under the deck, right next to the apartment.
The front door key is in a lockbox on the beam near the front door.

This is a very peaceful neighbourhood. Quiet times are between 10pm and 7am. Please be mindful of the other residents.

While we are only 3.2 km from the centre of Paihia, it is a hilly walk. There is a lot to see and do here so make sure your stay isn't too short to experience what is available.

You can wake up to the gentle sounds of the local Tui (birds) and look out across the bay to see what the weather has to offer.
We are in a quiet suburban area looking out over the water to Russell. You could walk down the hill to the beach and coastal walkway that runs from Paihia to Opua around the coast and across the mangrove boardwalk. Paihia township is only a 5 minute drive away but can be a pleasant half-hour walk along the coastal roadway.
There is a lot to do in Paihia with boat trips, fishing trips and bush walks/ biking all available. A short ferry trip from the town wharf will get you to historic Russell or a pleasant walk can get you to the Treaty grounds and meeting house at Waitangi.
For quiet evenings or rainy days you have a few board games, free Wi-Fi and a 42inch tv with Chromecast to entertain you.
