- "Good points:- Location, 5 minutes walk to the beach. Inexpensive in February. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Free on street parking. Pet friendly. Short drive to Garrucha and Mojacar. Points to improve on:- Sofa bed (used as a sofa) was like sitting on a thinly cover pallet, very uncomfortable. If you have a dog that likes to bother cats, this is the place for them. There are cats everywhere. The on site restaurant and shop not open until May. No toiletries in the room. Soundproofing wasn’t great. Although not a problem during low season, I would think that it would be a nightmare when busy during the summer holidays."

Having been disappointed with holiday apartments in the past, I have made sure this one has everything a family needs - from hair dryers to huge amounts of crockery and glassware, with a selection of board games and DVDs, and even a Wii console with a few games for quiet times in.

Located just 70 km from Almeria airport (45mins), the apartment is easily reached with direct flights or alternatively Murcia airport (140 km — 90mins) also services the area.

Valle del Este is located in a tourist destination on the East coast of Almeria (near to the villages of Vera, Garrucha and Mojacar) It has more than three thousand hours of sun per year which is more than any other area within continental Europe.

On the complex there is an excellent golf course and spa, which is perfect to combine sport and relaxation. There is also a fantastic tapas restaurant, a golf /sports bar, a mini shop and a cocktail bar. You are only a 10-15minute drive from Garrucha and Mojacar beaches.

- "Excellent communication with the owner - really nice property as described on the website, in a lovely location. Easy access to the property on arrival. Had a lovely stay and would return." - "Communication with the owners was excellent. The apartment is conveniently accessed just off the motorway. From Alicante airport it's an easy 2hr drive to Valle del Este resort. Less if you're flying into Murcia or Almeria. We found the apartment a great base for exploring both the nearby towns of Vera, Mojacar and the beaches along Vera Playa as well as for venturing further afield to the Cabo de Gata national park villages and beaches such as San José. The lovely town of Nijar with it's pottery and rug shops is another easy drive as is Sorbas, an interesting moorish town built right on the edge of a gorge. Tabernas desert and the old movie sets there are worth visiting if you're a spaghetti western fan. The apartment itself was well set up to accommodate our group of two adults and four kids. Plenty of space and excellent WiFi as mentioned in another review. It did stop working for the last few days but this didn't affect our enjoyment. The kids played with the Wii and had fun with a dance game. The highlight for our kids was the pool. It remaining open during October was fantastic and we all made use of it nearly every day. Having two showers in the apartment was another bonus. Reasonably priced groceries can be found at the supermarket Mercadona if you prefer to cook your own meals. There's a good Mercadona in Vera town but we found it easier to park at the big one further out the main road towards Garrucha. You can't miss it on the left if you take that road. Our youngest got a kick out of squeezing the orange juice in-store. Fresh bread can also be found most days in the little shop near the hotel. The resort itself seems geared to retired golfers and the residential section where we stayed was very quiet during the first ten days of October. That suited us; we loved having the place nearly to ourselves. There is a restaurant at the hotel down the road and two more a short walk away from the hotel in the Centro Comercial. We liked Karen's sports bar the best. Now to the beds. Yes, the mattresses are on the firm side. Half of our group said they were fine and half took a while to get used to them. I'm in the latter half so if I was to return I'd bring a mattress topper for my dodgy back. Again, this(or the lack of a cafetiere) wasn't enough to detract from an overall wonderful holiday. I've already recommended this apartment to friends and family and would love to go back. (p.s. For any geocachers reading this, you will be kept busy here!)"

Master bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobes with mirrors. The second bedroom has 2 single beds. Two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath and washing machine. The apartment has hot / cold air conditioning throughout the house.

The apartment has two terraces, one in front and one in the part of the solarium where the pool. The terrace is equipped with table and chairs and a lounge set. There is artificial grass and a security access door for the little ones. The terrace also has a kitchen counter top with sink and a small refrigerator.

- "We were given a warm and friendly welcome (plus a bottle of wine!) from Gerd and Stephanie who showed us round the apartment and handed us two sets of keys. The complex is very secure with a key fob for the entrance gates and the apartment has its own parking space. The apartment is beautiful, very spacious and we were delighted to see how clean it is kept. It is well equipped with everything you could want, even an umbrella in case of rain! In our 4 weeks there, though, it didn't rain once. The TV is 'smart' and we were able to watch Netflix at any time as the internet connection is good. Very important to us...the beds are comfortable! The complex itself is very pretty and beautifully kept. We were there during the quieter time of February and March when it's advisable to have a car, particularly if you want to explore further. There's a nice café/bar with small shop just outside the complex but this doesn't open until Easter when everywhere is busier. It's a 20 minute walk, on the flat, from the complex to the bars, restaurants and a huge supermarket (Consume) in the area. However, the bus stop is not far out of the complex where buses run every hour to Mojacar Playa via all the stops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment and can't recommend it highly enough. Gerd and Stephanie are a lovely couple who will help you with anything you might need for your stay. The renewed apartment consists of a living / dining room, kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave, hob, extractor and dishwasher. Master bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobes with mirrors. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and wardrobe. In both bedrooms there are ceiling fans. 2 bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath and washing machine.

The apartment has hot / cold air conditioning throughout the house. WiFi.

The terrace in front of the living room gives access to the staircase to the solarium with private pool (salt chlorination), barbecue, outdoor lighting and a pergola. Sea views from the solarium.

The apartment is located in the urbanization Paraíso Playa , with green areas and also a community pool for adults and children. Elevator in the building.

Several bars and restaurants at about 150m and a large supermarket at about 1600m.

All a few meters from the beach of Cala Marqués, and Playazo de Vera.
