Our location is like no other. Remote and away from the crowds, the drive to our property is about 4 miles on a dirt road, winding through beautiful country as you make your way towards the lake. Pedernal stands guard on one side, Abiquiu Lake and Ghostranch on the other side. The 360' views of spectacular vistas, red cliffs and the lake are so much better than we can capture in a picture. You really do have to see The Grand Hacienda to believe it.

La Biblioteca is the enchanting guesthouse on a magical 10-acre property in Abiquiu, NM. Originally built as a library for the main house, it's now a unique 1-BR cottage. Nestled in the landscape made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe, the house has jaw-dropping views from every window and the porch! We absolutely rent to all races, genders, and religions.

The space
The Biblioteca is a 1-bedroom cottage deep in the landscape made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe. First it was a stone shed. Then a library was built nearby. Finally a rusted steel enclosed structure connected the two, and this extraordinary cottage was born! A bedroom with a couch and sitting area, a kitchen/dining area and a lavish stone bathroom awaits your visit. There's no separate living room, but the front porch serves as a sitting area with views to swoon for! Come visit this eclectic abode in some of the most beautiful landscape in America! Far off the main road so there's no traffic noise!

Guest access
The whole place is yours. La Biblioteca shares 10+ acres with the main house, Casa Tacoya. Two propane stoves heat this perfect little house, looking out towards Pedernal!

Just fyi, there are some neighborhood dogs nearby who may bark now and then. And some coyotes and owls you may hear too!

The Casita at Prado Verde Ranch has a rustic feel and will take you back in time. The ranch, located along the Chama River, is a 200-acre working ranch in Abiquiu NM. The main ranch house, well over 100 years old, is home to the Newell family and Newell Cattle. It is winter pasture and spring calving grounds for the cattle. The home site was originally settled by Bartolome Trujillo in the 1734. Pottery shards found in the pastures indicate that this site was a Native American settlement.

The space
This is a cozy one bedroom/one bathroom adobe casita close to the main house but private. It has been used as a bunkhouse for the ranch hands at various times and thought to be as old as the main house. It is decorated with antique furniture and local art.

Guest access
Feel free to take a short walk through the pasture down to the gorgeous Chama River. The pasture was once inhabited by Anasazi Indians and pottery shards can be found when walking on the land. You can also set on the back porch, where there is a charcoal grill, overlooking the ponds and watch the activities of the beautiful Prado Verde Ranch.

Other things to note
Four horses, chickens and one cow dog call this home year-round, the cattle are here from November to June. Sorry but we are no longer able to take pets.

El Studio is a 300+ square foot studio in an exquisitely converted adobe outbuilding. It shares a scenic 10-acre property with the main house (Casa Tocaya) and the guest house (La Biblioteca). Surrounded by a stone wall for privacy, it's close enough to the main house to serve as an extra bedroom and far enough away across the driveway that no one feels crowded. **Now with a brand new Mini-split AC & Heater installed!**

The space
The Studio is enclosed by a stone wall and that area is private. There’s a front area with a bench, table and chairs. The side yard has a shade structure facing lovely views including Pedernal. There is another bench here and a matching chair. All for studio guests only. In addition, the Studio shares the 10-acre property with the main house Casa Tocaya and the Guesthouse, La Biblioteca. The land is unfenced and wild and stretches to a small arroyo. You can wander the land and local roads also make for lovely walks!

Our Casita is on a 20 acre river access horse property, the water is a 10 min walk from the unit. The space is private and at the heart of all that Abiquiu has to offer. Unwind in the deep soaking tub and star gaze around the fire pit. A river front wood fired sauna is available for your use. Come relax, come fish.

The casita has a queen sized bed, refrigerator, electric kettle, toaster, and gas stove top and cookware for simple meals.

We are just over an hour from Taos ski valley.

The Navajo (Teec Nos Pos) rug hanging in El Pedernal inspires its earthly color pallet of rust , gray and black. A 200-year-old mesquite door with hand-forged hinges from Mexico was transformed into the headboard for this comfortable bed. You will love the feel of hand-pressed sheets and cozy comforter. Handcrafted table and chairs allow you to sit and sketch or figure a crossword. You might enjoy gazing at the flames in the wood-burning fireplace and enjoying the rustic warmth of the room.

Viento del Rio is a perfect place to absorb the serenity of the Abiquiu area. Located off the beaten path (but not too far) centrally located to many area wonders. There are numerous places to hike nearby. Views of mountains (including Pedernal) in all directions are stunning. Nearby attractions include Plaza Blanca, Georgia O'Keefe Welcome Center and Ghost Ranch. Easy drive to Taos and Santa Fe. A truly lovely place to rest, relax and take in all the nearby sites and activities.

The space
On our propetry is 25 acres. We would love to host you in your own private casita with small kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths and living area located on the Rio Chama river.

You will have use of the entire casita. Our home is also on property but you are welcome to walk down to the river or take a stroll around our propety.
